Moog Mother 32 Unboxing and Demo

Published on Feb 26, 2017 Caalamus

"Unboxing & getting acquainted with my new Moog Mother 32! Deconstructing my first Patch... I recorded this like mid December of 2016 & I edited the video shortly thereafter. But it just felt like it was lacking something.

Maybe two weeks ago, I got the idea to record some more footage/audio of me Tuning up another Patch, a Lead ...& noodling over the existing Patch. Then, of course once I got started, I got carried away & wound up creating Animations & everything else :P

So here it is! My Moog Mother 32 Video. Hope you dig it! Let me know what you think... good or bad. All info is valuable :]

Great cosmetic condition. Super clean.
All keys, buttons and outputs / inputs work.
Floppy drive works perfectly.
Screen has dimmed but is still completely readable.
"Turntable" wheel functions 100% normally.

Only minor issue is alpha dial can skip values if moved quickly.
Works normally if you go slow."

"This unit is in great shape cosmetically, looks very clean. It also just got back from servicing. Apparently previous owner had tried some DIY repairs and done a poor job of it, and it came to me needing work. I sent it to a professional tech that completed servicing it did a nice job cleaning the internals, securing all the boards in place, replacing necessary capacitors, rebuilding the keyboard (plays very nice), servicing the sliders (they all move smoothly). Two of the sliders were replaced with the newer LED lit sliders.

It's 98% functional at this point, all the features working as they should. The only issue is the tracking on the oscillators. If they are tuned together while playing a single note, they will get out of tune with each other the further up or down the keyboard you move away from the starting tuning note. After about an octave is becomes somewhat noticeable and at 2 octaves there is definite detuning sound. This is the last step the tech did not have time to troubleshoot. Otherwise it is working great.

I believe this to be a MkI internally but with the black/gold case and a knob style tuning section (unlike the push pads on MkIIs and MkIII). So probably a late MkI during a transition period between Mk1 and Mk2. It has the Arp 4023 filter. The serial plate/number is missing (and oddly there is a 3260 model serial number on this but it is not related to Odyssey model number)" SN 0168

Sequential Prophet VS Synthesizer - eDrumming with Bidule

Published on Mar 7, 2017 BecauseDrumGeek

This is the legendary Sequential Circuits Prophet VS Digital Vector Synthesizer from 1986! added to an e-drum-setup.

This video is meant to show you that it is possible to integrate melody play from a hardware synth (or of course any soft-synth) into your e-drumming by playing only 1 zone (e.g. the bow of a cymbal pad) for each programmed cycle of notes/accords (no matter how many notes in one cycle!...).

A second melody is triggered by a second zone (e.g. the edge of a cymbal pad). It doesn't matter where you have stopped: hiitting the other zone will always launch the first note of the other cycle.

A third zone is meant to stop and reset it all.

Forget about using samples in a sampler tool. Triggering a synthesizer directly is so much more comfortable!!!

And please don't think that it is easy to handle a synth with drum pads: every new hit has to replace the note before...

So you'll need a wizard:
Plogue's Bidule makes it possible!!!

"This is an original Roland TB-303 "Devilfish" with just about every modification Robin Whittle could stuff in this thing. It has more features than I can list. It has all sorts of output and input options, memory related switches, etc.

The white case is a custom anodized aluminum case by Martin Rothlisburger in Switzerland.

This 303 has a few problems. The DIN jack is damaged, and the resonance potentiometer has a damaged track. It still works good, but in some resonance settings, the resonance goes way into self oscillation.

Everything else is fine. It also has blue leds."

"Excellent synth, in great working order. Sounds amazing.
These were originally sold as a kit which you built yourself in the late 70s to Early 80s.

In good condition.. Scuffs and marks as you would expect from a synth of this age.

Only thing is that the base panel is missing! I bought it like this.. Works fine though and does not affect the workability of the synth!

This synth has also been fitted with CV in and Out"

Linn Linndrum w/ Sidestick Tuning Mod, LM1 EPROMS, Factory Sounds, MIDI, Manuals

via this auction

"This is a very well-cared for fully-functional Linndrum that has been in my possession for the last decade and hasn't left my home studio. But it is not a normal Linndrum, it's special. The previous owner was obsessed with Prince, so much so he had a Sidestick tuning mod added. What this accomplishes is that by installing some original LM-1 EPROMS and switching them around, he was able to have a tunable kick, snare, and sidestick playing all at the same time - basically making a LM-1 / Linndrum combo! When I bought this from him I had all of the original Linndrum factory EPROMS put back in, but I still have the LM-1 EPROMS in case the buyer is interested in doing this LM-1 hybrid. It's certainly fun to feel like Prince at a fraction of the cost!

The machine is also fully MIDIfied by the JL Cooper Electronics mod and works flawlessly. It comes with manual and some paperwork, and of course a power cord."

Regarding what's at the bottom right of the modulation section, from the listing: "I had designed a x10 memory expansion for my Roland D-550 and had plans of doing the same for the Oberheim. However I never got around to actually implementing it. As a result there is a non functional10 position thumbwheel switch."

It will still do these things if that's the sort of things you are into. I hope to have more to show very soon. Stay tuned."

Time Machine - 64+1 patches for Korg Minilogue

Published on Mar 7, 2017 Alba Ecstasy

"64 + 1 patches for Korg Minilogue. When I received my Minilogue I was not in the mood for it. In fact, I was kind of a disappointed when I pressed the keys and hear it. After one week and a lot of work with my new studio location, I (re)discovered the Minilogue and I payed more attention to it. And right there, it was that feeling, and I was like traveling with a Time Machine, being able to create vintage sounds (helped by the noise of the delay) from vintage times...
Hoping you'll like too these sounds, here they are, in a short and partial video of the patches.

Patches can be purchased from: http://www.albaecstasy.ro/korg-minilo...

PS: in this video I used a small amount of reverb and the onboard delay of the Minilogue, on some patches.

- Hold TYPE + MODE_A for Gate A scanning
- Hold TAP + MODE_B for GateB scanning
- Hold TYPE + TAP for effects scanning.
Press that combinations again for turn the scanning off.
The sounds obtained by Scanning Mode are experimental – due to processor specifications there occur glitches between skipping the filters/effects. Test your settings at lower volumes first.

Grand Terminal v. 1.6 update:

- improvements in filters and effects
- VCF/VC(F)A mode revised
- CV sampling frequency increased twice
- all next updates after current could be done via audio (you have to update to v1.6 or later once with USB first)
