The DM12 has incredible LOWS. I love this thing, it makes a huge difference in the mix. As you might have seen in my older ANALOG synth videos, I love ANALOG SYNTHS... & this synth can sound like a ton of those vintage synthesizers from1974-1986 & beyond! Excellent value & GREAT SOUND!! Great purchase!!!

SUPERBOOTH17 Event Details

"The first European Trade Fair for electronic musical instruments, will be taking place from April 20th to 22nd for the 2nd time at FEZ-Berlin.

- 170 exhibitors from more than 20 different countries -
- 120 events, 25 concerts per day -
- guests coming from more than 40 countries -

SUPERBOOTH17 is also a cultural event with concerts, workshops, 'Gesprächskonzerten' (performance/talks), providing insights into the world of electronic music and the panel discussion SOOPERtalk. SUPERBOOTH17 offers a lot more than a normal trade fair.

1. The Event program is set:
The trained trumpet player Colin Benders from the Netherlands shows that modular systems have arrived in mainstream composing. The renowned musician - also working with the Kyleman Orchestra - concludes the first evening in front of a standing audience, performing thru the quadrophonic PA in Konzertsaal 1 (K1). The system will see it's inauguration at 7pm by Max Loderbauer and a well known acquaintance by means of a four channel performance.

Also on Friday and Saturday there’s a flock of nondescript notables coming and going in a continuous stream: Frank Bretschneider, Schneider TM, (also (F.) Schneider (Senior) has been invited), Alec Empire, T.Raumschmiere, Matt Didemus (Junior Boys), Jay Ahern, Skinnerbox, the Teichmann Brothers, Gudrun Gut, Ströme (formerly laBrassBanda), Mouse on Mars and others are either on the line up or will be our guests.

This year we will create significantly more space for Women's electronic music. After the SOOPERtalk, two thirds of the nightly program is female-cast. Daily at 1:30pm basic courses by and for Women only are taking place at the Eve - Lounge, with Jessica Kert of SchneidersLaden defining the principles of subtractive synthesis where every day we will have experienced female musicians as guests to explain Examples of usage on location.

2. SOOPERtalk: Nobody here likes to be famous:

During all three evenings from 8-9pm, some less or more well known, but always proficient guests will address issues of our importance as part of community. Hosted by journalist of taz and M&R papers, we are going to investigate the social position we take as a group of creatives. SOOPERtalk should be seen as event embedded in the event and is kindly supported by Musicboard Berlin. If necessary the talks and lectures will be translated into English.

M&R (Melodie & Rhythmus) editor-in-chief Susann Witt-Stahl hosts the first evening, debating political aspects of music with her guests. The 2nd evening is devoted entirely to Creation and is hosted by Jens Uthoff of taz. What kinds of spaces do exist for societal and artistic visions? Together with the Teichmann Brothers we have managed to invite very interesting guests for this discussion.

3. Book your DIY Workshop tickets now:

Binding bookings for the DIY workshops are now available and limited to 16 participants each.
The cost for participation in the DIY workshops depends on individual construction kit prices.
All other workshops thru out the day (incl. 1pm) may be reserved with your standard visitor ticket as long as places are available.

Similar to last year, a live stream running from 12am to 12pm will be provided for absent but interested parties, however, this time representing ALL relevant concerts and presentations.

For the night hours there will be more program at C-Base, in the Maze Club (Thursday & Friday) and on the final night at Ohm in Tresor.

Please find more details on the 3 day schedule on our website and keep yourselves up to date by subscribing to our newsletter at www.superbooth.com

White Noise - All Sounds Within

"white noise only with filters and resonators and reverb

Well Todd Barton got me started on this from a lecture a long time ago. White noise is a treasure trove of sound but like truffle in the forest you have to dig for it a bit. Its lurking there waiting to get out once the proper door is opened.

This is one starts out with the white noise source only but then gets filtered, resonated and reverbed returning to white noise at the end, the stuff in the middle is the interesting part, although quite random.

The different notes emerge from self resonating Frostwave Resonator filter (MS20 clone) receiving 4 sample and hold random CVs for hi and low pass cutoffs and resonator levels,

A Murf adds the percussive fun, an H9 does for echoes and reverb

mostly this is an experiment, proof of concept, not really a 'piece' so to speak, use headphones if you can, enjoy the ride.

Road to the temple - a Ciat-Lonbarde Plumbutter practice

Published on Mar 26, 2017 hajimmie

"A sunday night practice session. I need to practice more ;) Ciat-Lonbarde instruments have unique organic sound quality and it blends well with unplugged instruments.

Plumbutter straight into roland mobile cube amp. Recorded on the phone (built-in mic) so everything is unprocessed, not a great sound quality but retains the atmosphere, and it's a practice session."

"In the pics [below] you can see reference charts of Banks A-H (each bank containing 128 excellent sounds), arranged in horizontal rows: If on Banks C-H, you go down the left margin to 6, then horizontally across, you'll find mostly brass sounds. Once you've stepped through sounds 60 - 69 in bank C, then start over at 60 in D and the brass sounds continue. Likewise, the 70s row contain the string sounds. The first 4 rows (from #00 to 39) contain arpeggios and are indicated with an "A" in the lower right hand corner of the box on the reference chart.

Banks A & B consist of volatile memory that is lost when the battery dies. I just changed the battery, and loaded banks A & B from my computer using Midi-Ox and a Midiman Midisport interface. You can overwrite any of the 256 patches in these 2 banks with your new sound creations. Banks C-H consist of non-volatile memory, and survive battery replacement. The patches in these 6 banks can be overwritten, but only by loading a sysex file (similar to how I loaded A & B.) I would recommend backing up all 1024 sounds (128 patches x 8 banks) as a sysex file to your computer. You will need a USB-Midi interface to store and load this data, and to back up new sounds from banks A & B. Most synthesizers I have purchased over the years have contained mostly junk sounds apart from any factory presets. This synth is an exception. The best sounds (in my opinion) have been loaded into banks C-H. Banks A & B do contain a lot of good sounds, but this is the area where you can experiment, and store your own patches. A#79 is the only blank, labeled "init sound." I've provided a blank A & B bank reference chart for scribing and keeping track of new sounds."

"Vintage ARP Explorer I synthesizer, model 2911. The synth has a special sound due the ARP 2600 vco (type 4027-1) and the 4-pole Moog style ladder filter (type 4034). Everything is working fine. Cosmetically it's in good condition for its age, but there are signs of use. The lettering near the faders / knobs on the front panel is almost gone, there are some scratches on it and little wear and tear (see photo's)."
