Moog Announces New Limited Edition SUB SEQUENT 37 CV for Moogfest 2017

A new white beauty from Moog. The SUB SEQUENT 37 CV adds four assignable CV outputs, two assignable Gate outputs, an upgraded keybed, a high-powered headphone amplifier for live-monitoring, and a modified analog signal path.

Full details via Moog Music:

Today we are excited to announce the SUB SEQUENT 37 CV. This limited-edition redesign of the ultra-powerful Sub 37 Tribute Edition analog synthesizer is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide, with the first 125 units built live on-site at Moogfest 2017. Anchored by a pair of solid aluminum side pieces inset with North American hardwood and affixed to a rugged steel and aluminum enclosure, it features four assignable CV outputs and two assignable Gate outputs for interconnectivity with large-format and Eurorack modular systems, an upgraded keybed for improved playability, a high-powered headphone amplifier for live-monitoring, and a modified analog signal path.

'We are really excited to incorporate community feedback into the evolution of an instrument. Adding CV interconnectivity was the starting point, but we have also increased the headroom in the mixer and significantly extended the range of Multidrive, giving the SUB SEQUENT 37 CV expanded sonic capability and modular control.' - Cyril Lance, Moog Chief Engineer

The SUB SEQUENT 37 CV’s mixer now has double the headroom of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition. Taking advantage of the mixer’s newfound flexibility, the gain-staging of the Ladder filter has been reshaped to boost harmonic saturation and analog compression. Completing the sonic evolution is a re-tuned Multidrive circuit that extends well beyond the grit and growl of the original Sub 37.

SUB SEQUENT 37 CV production is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide. Each instrument is lovingly handcrafted by Moog employee-owners. The first 125 units are available for purchase exclusively through Guitar Center during Moogfest 2017, May 18-22, and on guitarcenter.com .

FEATURES
SOUND ENGINE EVOLUTION – Greater sonic dimension
MORE MULTIDRIVE – Wider range and dirtier than ever before
ROOM FOR TWO - More headroom means Duo mode sounds even better
6 ASSIGNABLE OUTPUTS – Modular connectivity with 4x CV outs and 2x Gate outs UPGRADED KEYBED – Lightweight with swift action, velocity, and aftertouch HIGH-POWER HEADPHONE AMP – Cue up your next sound in the loudest of venues. LIMITED EDITION -- 2000 units produced worldwide
SUB 37 DESIGN – All the controls and features found on the Sub 37 Tribute Edition:

Jellysquasher

Analog coloring compressor module

100% analog signal path and sidechain feedforward compressor
Unique (log based RMS) detector
Output routed through a specially selected Edcor transformer with highly desirable saturation qualities.
Three carefully designed analog circuits to impose specific character on the output signal:
TUBE adds non-linear distortion providing second order harmonics
TAPE adds symmetrical distortion providing both even and odd harmonics
XFRM modifies the transformer feedback circuit, giving a boost to low bass content
All three color circuits can be engaged in any combination to react differently based on the input drive level and makeup gain
Sidechain routed through a voltage controllable SVF filter with LP, BP and HP modes. A trimmer on the PCB allows you to adjust Q. This filter can be used independently of the rest of the module.
External sidechain input allows triggering of the compressor with external sources.
Link IN/OUT allows two Jellysquashers to be chained together for stereo operation.
Full CV control of sidechain cutoff, threshold, ratio, attack time, release time, and makeup gain.
Wet/Dry control allows for “New York” style compression where there is a blend of the dry and compressed output signal.
LED bargraph with selectable display modes to view the signal level in VU or the gain reduction in dB.
Specifications:

Max input: +17dBv
Input impedance: 68k ohms
Output impedance: 100 ohms
Frequency response: 5Hz to 30KHz
Range of gain reduction: over 50dB
Threshold: -40dBv to +17dBv
Ratio: 1.3:1 to infinity
Attack: 200us to 200ms
Release: 50ms to 5sec
Makeup gain: 48dB

Erica Synths - MIDI-Clock

Published on May 17, 2017 DivKidVideo

"Here's a new and super useful module from Erica Synths. Erica Synths are on fire at the minute and the new MIDI to clock or clock to MIDI "MIDI-Clock" is great. It's 6HP and takes clock in and spits MIDI out or takes MIDI clock in and spits analogue/modular clock out. Which ever way you work you get PPQ settings, a divided output and two multiplied outputs. All really quick with switches and a play/pause button too. Nice integration of MIDI clocked gear in both directions."

"Ok , where do I start , as you can see its a bit tatty , thats because , ive put this one together from spares , as I buy ARPs and repair them , well I ended up with lots of spares , and a body that was so bad with rust etc , I thought why not just for my self a JD tribute spare , so when I get a Omni in for repair , I can just use this to put other boards in to see if they are at fault etc ,, so I sanded it down and sprayed it white anyway this is fully working apart phaser switch not working on Synth section when selected , which I personally never use when just synth is selected , so didnt bother , it is fully recapped , although upper string board is roughly recapped by previous owner of that board , only looks untidy , he had a few shorts , which I corrected , and it works , as in photos keys are rough condition , in appearance , dull , scratched , marks etc but work , so as you can see im not expecting much , im having a clear out to make room , so selling a few more vintage stuff including Roland cr78 , , maybe a lovely Arp pro dgx too. Deepmind/Odyssey/OB-6 - SLOP

Published on May 16, 2017 Jae Ryan

"A quick little detuned jam. Deepmind is doing the bass arp which also doubles as the 'drums' thanks to some clever routing of noise through the mod matrix! OB-6 is doing a random high pitched arpeggio and getting some shimmer verb from the blue sky. Odyssey is doing the detuney string lead thing and hitting the DIG pretty heavily. Nothing special, just a video I wanted to capture quick so I could make use of the Deepmind patch!"
