Circuit Mono Driver (Novation Circuit Mono Station thru Moog MF Drive)

Published on Aug 27, 2017 HardtekStudios

"For this Circuit Mono Station jam, I run the audio out of the C-Mono into the MF Drive pedal for extra distortion and to utilize the analog Moog filter. The Aux CV on the C-Mono is sending the Evvelope to the MF Drive to control the filter. The C-Mono is using a High Pass filter, while the MF Drive is using a Low Pass filter. So I am essentially using a serial Band Pass filter. also taking advantage of C-Mono's Osc Sync."

"Needs work, but it's alive!"

via this auction

" This is a working Yamaha CS-60 Synthesizer with some issues. It is complete, however, and could be brought back to full playing capacity.

First, the good:
All components and circuitry are present, and all voices appear to sound (and are in decent tune, but could use fine tuning). Just about all of the sliders work, and all keys play as they should. The pitch ribbon works fine, as does the aftertouch on this synth. The glissando and portamento features work as they should, and the ring modulator and sub-oscillator features work.

Physically, there are no broken keys, missing switches, slider caps or knobs. The case is in good, solid condition, and the top cover is included and in good shape, too. The instrument is in fair physical shape, with no serious dings in any surface or tolex rips, but certainly with many scuffs and other signs of use. There are some chips on the control panel that can be seen in a picture or two.

NOTE: There are NO legs, music stand, or pedals included in this sale.

As far as specific features and playability, the synth is at about 80-90% functionality, but the issues described below obviously limit the range of what a player can do on this synth.

Unknowns: I haven’t tested pedals with this unit, nor have I hooked anything up to the EXT. jack in the back. I therefore cannot speak to the status of these functions.

Here are the issues:
1. The mystery issue is an overarching coming and going of volume on the presets, no matter what is being played or what features are being engaged. It occurs independently from the sustain settings. It’s as if the total output rises and falls (a la vibrato) in volume, in a predictable, pulsating manner. (Is this a sample and hold or other KBC logic / control issue? Dunno.) This doesn’t seem to be the case with the Panel and Memory settings.
2. The sustain seems to be stuck on.
3. Other issues are these: The ATTACK and DECAY slider controls for the ring modulator section don’t work; the green slider for UPPER on the Keyboard Control Brilliance interface doesn’t work; and the VCO and VCF sliders on the Aftertouch section don’t engage the sub-oscillator section as they should."

"The Synthetone SX-1000 is an old Italian basic mono-synth. It has a single analog DCO with three waveforms: sawtooth, square, and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). There is an analog filter (12dB/octave) with cutoff, resonance, and LFO modulation. There is also a simple ADSR envelope for shaping your sounds. In addition there are also white/pink noise generators a glide effect and a vibrato effect. It's known for fairly stable tuning too. Probably its best sounds are the lead ones, the basses aren't that deep but it sure can scream!

What it doesn't have is MIDI, CV/Gate or any other form of control. MIDI retrofits can take care of this however. Unfortunately there is no patch memory, and there is no way around this limitation. Its knobs are boldly colored and well layed-out for easy hands-on access; but you'll need a Polaroid camera if you want to store your patch settings! Also lacking are an arpeggiator, sequencer, pitch/mod wheels, and effects. Nevertheless, this Italian vintage synth is a very cheap entry-level analog synth that has some unique sounds and characteristics"

Synthesis Technology - E352 Drones N Stuff

Published on Aug 27, 2017 DivKidVideo

"This was my first play around with the E352 and I stuck in the familiar morph mode which is pretty much just an E350 on newer technology. It is STILL the smoothest wavetable morphing I've heard anywhere (the E350 was, the E352 takes the torch). I made up a little patch with some oscillating reverb, drones and a second voice to pedal against the pitch changes on the E352. Both outputs are panned hard left and right and an Ornament and Crime sends 3 slow LFOs to morph the X, Y and Z parameters. If you want to see how the whole patch was made then I have an exclusive videos for my Patreon supporters that does just that. http://www.patreon.com/divkid"
