"Download the audio track for FREE here-https://soundcloud.com/hardtek-studio...
In this track, I have the Wolf's Synth Out routed into the Circuit Mono Station's audio input. The Wolf bass is playing a different melody than the C-Mono, so there is some trippy layering going on. There is a lot of the Filter Overdrive, so the different mixer sources start distorting in interesting ways. The ending gets really twisted so stay tuned to the end! Both instruments where recorded into Logic and mixed with EQ, compression & a bit of verb!"

Teenage Engineering OP-1 & axoloti software environment used to program a quad granular synth plus low-pass / hi-pass filter.

Update: some additional info on Axoloti via Servando:

"Axoloti It’s a standalone board in which you can program audio effects, synthesizers, midi/cv sequencers and almost any low latency / high quality (24/48) audio gadget you can imagine.

To program the chip you use a graphical programming environment that resembles in a way to puredata / reaktor or a virtual modular synthesizer. This board it’s open-hardware / Open-source, so there are lots of ready made amazing synths & effects to play around with.

the axoloti patch I’m running in this video it’s a 'performance granular synthesizer'. It does Live sampling via audio input and has four different granulators with different characteristics (static / dynamic) and additional lowpass / hipass filters to enhance even more the sonic difference between the granulators. This patch done in 1 Hr was inspired by some vaporware (just a 3d render) granular synth. For more info you can visit www.axoloti.com"

"Fully Serviced Moog Sonic Six in 100% functional condition.

Internally, the power supply has been rebuilt, all electrolytic and tantalum capacitors replaced and various internal trim pots replaced for better stability. Also, the key bushings were replaced and all switches, pots and the keybed buss bar and j-wires were cleaned. It is fully calibrated and the tuning has been scaled.

Cosmetically, it has some replacement knobs and slider caps, but they all fit properly. There are a few light scratches, a small scrape near the left latch, and a small piece of plastic broke off of the IEC power jack but it doesn't structurally affect the jack at all."

Historical Moog Modular Synthesizer "Performance" From 1969

Leonard Bernstein: Young People's Concerts Vol. 2 | Bach Transmogrified

Marius Buia
Published on Oct 9, 2015

"Original Broadcast: April 27, 1969"

Comes in after 15:10. Switched on Bach gets a mention. Unfortunately the "performance" is moor of a "pose" with a pre-recording on tape by Walter Sear. Still fun to watch, especially the kids' reactions, or lack thereof for some. Note the system is powered on, as you can see the sequencers are running. Also, for some context, the Minimoog wouldn't be released until a year later in 1970.

Update: video of the Moog performance:

"Young People's Concert: 'Bach Transmogrified'
with the New York Philharmonic
Written and conducted by Leonard Bernstein

Bernstein discusses different transmogrifications or treatments of Bach's works. After an organ recital of the Little Fugue, guest conductor Leopold Stokowski conducts his own transcription of the fugue for symphony orchestra. Other transmogrifications include Foss' Phorion and a version of the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 performed by the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble.

In this excerpt, Bernstein discusses the Bach Little Fugue in G Minor heard on the Moog Synthesizer.

Dave Smith Instruments In the Spotlight with HAN LUIS CERA (MUTANT-THOUGHTS) and the Tempest

The latest Dave Smith Instruments "In the Spotlight" series features HAN LUIS CERA (MUTANT-THOUGHTS) and the Tempest.

"Mutant-Thoughts is an experimental alternative synth-rock band formed by Han Luis Cera (vocals and synths), Joshua Lennox-Hilton (bass and backing vocals) and Tom Pearmain (drums), with an electronic, eclectic, eerie vibe, and strong rhythms, as well as beautiful melodies. On a constant search for new sounds, grooves, harmonies and textures, Mutant-Thoughts have worked really hard on building original and interesting sound. Using the Poly Evolver and Tempest, together with bass and drums, this band is able to transform our surroundings into a completely new reality which is perceived with detail in the music. New Zeeon Synth from BeepStreet Released for iPad

ZEEON Synth by BeepStreet - Alba Ecstasy quick demo
Alba Ecstasy
Published on Aug 30, 2017

iTunes: Zeeon synth - BeepStreet

"Zeeon is a virtual analog synthesizer, powered by an advanced analog circuit modelling engine. We spent a lot of time analysing iconic analog synths, both vintage and modern, to find out which parts of the circuit contribute most to their specific character. We used this knowledge to create a unique synth, with focus on what’s most important - the pure, organic and detailed sound. Many analog synth emulations sound dull. Not Zeeon. We take care of the entire spectrum range from deep lows to sweet highs. All audio and modulation signals are processed at 176 KHz (4x oversampling).

Full manual and audio demos available at the BeepStreet website.

Features

• Audio Unit v3 and standalone application with a simple polyphonic step sequencer

• 2 oscillators with continuously variable waveforms, hard-sync and sub-oscillator. Carefully simulated analog drift and PSU influence.

• Filter: 3 models available: Transistor ladder low pass, OTA cascade low pass and State Variable Filter with continuously variable LP-HP + BP mode.

• 2 low frequency oscillators and envelope generators per voice.

• Overdrive: diode clipper and transistor saturation, pre and post filter.

• Up to 2 layers per voice. Layers can modulate each other.

• Powerful modulation matrix offering self-modulation and cross-layer modulation, 8 modulation slots, 17 signal sources and 41 targets available, both from modulation modules and audio signal path. This takes Zeeon into semi-modular territory. Imagine oscillator waveform, panning, filter cutoff, resonance or LP-HP mode modulated by oscillators or another layer!

• Effects unit: Circuit modelled BBD chorus, bass booster, zero-delay Phaser, Stereo delay and Reverb.

• 144 presets and Tutorials bank.

More presets and exciting features in upcoming updates."

The demo shows the sound of the recreated TB with 3 different coils (10mH, 15mH and 50mH). 3rd: Sound comparison of the Bentley to the Roland TR-77 which looks almost identical (well not in the video as i used a TR-77 voiceboard in a custom 19" case). 8 midiprogrammed loops will be fired alternating onto the Bentley and the TR-77 voiceboard. Roland MKS-20 review - Old school synth-pop tutorial workflow and LIVE performance

Espen Kraft
Published on Aug 30, 2017

"The Roland MKS-20 from the mid 80s. A fantastic retro digital piano module with analoge chorus and tremolo built in for immidiate 80s gratification.
The analog chorus board built into the module can be though of as a cross between the Juno 6/60 chorus and a Dimension D.

Elton John used it for years and Spectrasonics has included it in their Keyscape plugin recently to great reviews. A standard piano sound in many gospel recordings of the day.
Software doesn't cut it for me and I had to get the module. It's getting pretty rare these days so I'm happy it now sits in my rack.
I play it from the Roland S-10 in this video.

I use it mainly because of the preset 7. E. Piano 1. I find that sound irresistable for my 80s sound when I go for a piano/pad with reverb.

In this showcase episode I use that sound with the Chorus enabled and some reverb from a Strymin BlueSky and a TC flashback delay.
The track "Arrivederci" is performed completely LIVE. Just the drum machine providing a little beat. The Juno 6 arpeggiator has a hold function so it can play the same pattern throughout the track.

Listen to more of my music on: http://www.espenkraft.com

My tracks pay homage to all synth.pop acts of the 80'ies like Howard Jones, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Thompson Twins, Tears for Fears, Ultravox, OMD, Euryhmics, Duran Duran, Giorgio Moroder, Jean Michel Jarre, Jan Hammer, A-ha and many more.

A use mostly old gear on my tracks and among them Roland Juno 6, Alpha Juno 2, D550 and JX-8P, MKS-20. Korg DW-8000. Roland TR-626 drum machine. Yamaha DX7 and TX802 and drum machine RX11. I use the Novation Mininova as a vocoder on all my tracks. Effects are usually handled by Strymon and TC electronics. Sampling is done on my E-MU ESI-4000, Akai S1000 and Roland S-10."
