"Novation Supernova 1 that has an expansion sound card inside. Now it's 44-voices. It's fully loaded. It is very stunning and amazing. Everything is double checked. It’s 100% in working order. It also comes with a power cord. Cosmetically it is in very good to excellent condition. The only fault is the rack ear on the upper left corner is slightly bent. You know the expansion card is very hard to find. Yes, the card is inside the synth." Pic below.

Interesting note about John Carpenter using the SQ-80, however the SQ-80 was released in 1988: "I grew up being a huge fan of John Carpenter films (Assault on District 13, The Thing, and Escape From New York probably being my favorites) and always loved the music in them. I read in a magazine interview that he did the music himself with an SQ-80 and I immediately looked to see how I could get one. After realizing that it was way out of my price range as a young kid, I made tapes of the music instead and had to wait until over a decade later to realize my dream of owning this classic synthesizer.

This SQ-80 is in perfect working order and it comes with a rugged road case (this synth has played a few gigs), original instruction manual, MIDI cables and power cable, 3 sound cartridges, and the original sustain pedal."

Custom Korg MINI KP Eurorack Module From Million Machine March

via Million Machine March

"One of my favorite types of emails are from people who love their non-eurorack gear so much that they want to find out, ‘if’ it is possible to convert over to eurorack, and what would be involved in doing so. At first I was not sure if conversion of the Korg MINI KP would even be possible. I usually have to go back and forth with the inquirer and see if they can ‘carefully’ open the ‘back panel’ and look inside and see what we would be facing. I ask for a couple of pics and some measurements. Basically the main hurdle in euro conversion is the physical size of the PCB’s that are inside the synth/pedal/effect box you are trying to convert over. Yes, current use, digital functionality, midi conversion, voltage needs, among other concerns need to be addressed, but the size of the PCB’s is the most critical ‘show stopper’ that has to be addressed first!

I asked Ali a few questions about his MINI KP and the journey with it so far."

I am a big fan of Korg Gadget. I've made countless songs with it, as well as quite a few videos! It is an excellent app that continuously adds to its worth via updates and new gadgets. When I saw they were adding a multi layer sample player, I had to get it!

I am sure the sounds that come with it are useful, but when it comes to sample players I always wanna bring my own samples to the party. So this video simply shows the process of adding your own samples and playing around with the adjustments that are available. It's a first look, but after this, I can't wait to dive in!"

Tiptop Audio TG ONE Special Edition: Throbbing Gristle Commemorate Eurorack Module

via Tiptop Audio

"TG ONE is a special edition of the Tiptop Audio ONE module designed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Throbbing Gristle’s groundbreaking ‘Second Annual Report’. Few bands have staked out such on original space in music that proved not only immediately provocative and illuminating, but filtered into almost every corner of electronic and popular music in the succeeding decades.

Collaborating with the band and MUTE records, the Tiptop Audio team tailored the features of the popular ONE to the sound and aesthetic of Throbbing Gristle.

Decked out in a TG color scheme of red and white on black, the design incorporates the iconic TG ‘flash’. Even the packaging sports classic cover art from ’20 Jazz Funk Greats’.

Working with long time beta-tester Chris Carter, the Tiptop R&D tweaked the ONE firmware creating two new modes: the first a random file selection on each trigger input; and the second, looping playback that randomly seeks in a sound file with each trigger. Both of these functions take TG ONE into new sonic territory.

TG ONE includes two exclusive cards of Throbbing Gristle samples curated by Chris Carter from his archive of the original Throbbing Gristle recording sessions. The files have been further reworked and revised, modified and mangled by Carter to give the user a unique Throbbing Gristle sonic palette to work wonders with while retaining the spirit of the original sources. Card one consists of 128 percussive sounds and audio snippets with the second card featuring 128 longer samples, pads and loops.
Tightly coupled with the firmware these cards are only available with the TG module.

Tiptop Audio would like to thank Paul Taylor, Daniel Miller and all at Mute for their support; and Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and the late Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson for their inspiration."

PULScar - Waldorf Pulse + OSCar DIY Hybrid by Stereoping

CBD Computer Drums - ft. SDS8,TQ-5,JX-03,K4,PULScar

Published on Nov 15, 2017 Stereoping

Note the focus of this video from Stereoping is on his midified CRB Computer Drums. What caught my attention though was his PULScar mentioned in the second paragraph below.

"Rough testsong for a midified CRB Computer Drums. The digital part or this rare drumcomputer was completely broken and ripped off to implant a midi trigger interface bringing the analogue drumvoices back into studio life. I also added a DR-110 handclap unit as there were some trigger channels of the midi-interface left over. There's also a little article about this project on my site.

The CRB gets some backing from a Simmons SDS8. Everything sequenced by the MPC1000 with realtime mutes from a DIY midicontroller called 'MPC Muterscener' (... of course). Further gear: Yamaha TQ-5, Kawai K4, Roland JX-03 and a PULScar prototype with a dedicated Programmer. The PULScar is a hybrid of a Waldorf Pulse1 with a (still) breadboarded OSCar VCF replacing just the Pulse's ladder VCF and keeping all remaining other Pulse elements (DCOs, ENVs, LFOs, VCA, MODs). More on the PULScar soon.

Ego view camera! Despite the shaking I think it's more interesting than a fixed cam as it captures the currently important viewpoints. Hope you like it :-)"

"Just so you know who you are buying from. Max Neutra here. Long time collector of weird and rare sound toys and synths. Some of my pieces have been added to the quintessential Mini Organ collection (miniorgan.com). I've made music and art for 20 years. Google me if you are curious.

OK so why am I selling this? A while back I invested in a Buchla Music Easel. Love it! But when it arrived, I noticed the keyboard had some discoloration. Given how much the thing cost, I was hoping for a more pristine specimen. So I called Buchla, and by some kinda miracle, they sent me a replacement keyboard. Switched them out, no prob.

I've been holding onto this first one for a while now. Was thinking I might eventually sell it as an extra bonus along with the music easel (if and when I do), but now I'm thinking it would be better off being used by someone rather than taking up space in my closet.

Score for you! A brand new and complete one of these is $1600! Now let's be clear, this IS NOT COMPLETE. It does not have the box/case, nor the power supply, or the knobs. Only what you see in the pics. It's more like getting the 218 clone kit, but preassembled. If you already have a Buchla Music Easel and want a replacement keyboard, this is perfect. If you want to build or acquire a case and power supply, you could turn this beauty into a stand alone keyboard.

What's wrong with it? Nothing! OK ok the one thing about it is that some of the keys have this spot where there is slight discoloration (see pics), but this does not effect the functionality at all. Strictly cosmetic. Funny thing is, if you play on these touch keyboards they will start to look worn after a while anyways, so no biggie."

Kauldron: Smart Analog Modeling Synth for iPad and iPhone

Published on Nov 15, 2017 YonacSoftware

iTunes: Kauldron - Yonac Inc.

"Kauldron is our warmest sounding, punchiest synth yet! A completely new modeling technology, combined with carefully designed features help you create aggressive synth sounds full of rich analog textures with the fewest knob tweaks. The result is a pure, head-on tone that requires little or no FX or post-production to sound big.

Kauldron pushes every available iOS technology to the max: it is not only fully universal (you can run it natively on your iPad and iPhone), but also an Audio Unit plugin. In fact, it is one of the first fullscreen AUv3 plugins for iOS: with iOS 11 and a compatible DAW, you can enjoy all the great Kauldron features on a nice, big spread.

Kauldron debuts the next generation of our Artificial Intelligence preset creation system, SPAWN². Completely reimagining the groundbreaking SPAWN algorithms in our hugely popular Magellan, the new SPAWN² gives you unprecedented control over generating presets. In the expert mode, you can accomplish anything from subtle ‘variations on a theme’ to bold new sounds. In the basic mode, where Kauldron does all the thinking, you get preset after usable preset with just a touch. This is not simple randomization: it is the power of machine learning put to benevolent use!

Kauldron is designed with modulation and fine dynamic control in mind. The two fully-featured LFOs and the mod envelope combine with a wide variety of MIDI learnable controls to manipulate multiple parameters. Everything is easily set up in a clearly laid out ‘mod matrix.’ The dual XY-pads can be used for controlling modulation or a wide range of synth parameters. MIDI aftertouch can be routed via the matrix for even greater control over expression and tonality.

Powerful arp with both live & program modes; comprehensive MIDI features with effortless MIDI learn; over 900 presets; recording, sharing, IAA, Audiobus 3, Ableton Link — these are just some of the features brewing inside Yonac’s Kauldron.
