008//Nanotech [Atonal Ambient] - 2x Mother 32, Eventide Space, Eventide Timefactor

Published on Feb 12, 2018 Alastair Wilson

"An atomospheric, atonal, fully self-generating modular patch using a 2 Mother 32s sent through an Eventide Space black hole reverb and an Eventide Timefactor on vintage delay setting. No other processing has been applied.

Finally, I decided to make an entirely self-generating patch! The 2 Mother 32s are very similar, with self-resonating filters having their amplitudes modulated by the VCO Pulse outputs, and random stepped voltages affecting the filter cutoffs and the VCO pitches. The only real difference is that one of the Mother 32s has a short attack on the envelope, while the other has a long attack. The distortion on the delays comes from turning down the bit rate on the Timefactor being turned down to minimum.

This patch makes me think of a decrepit spaceship abandoned on an alien planet (an oddly precise image), and narrowly escaped being called 'Nostromo' because of it. What does this patch make you think of?
