Overview of Modular For The Masses "My Favorite Reverb" module

Published on Sep 22, 2019 juanito moore

"This is the reverb module I made in the instructional video on my channel.

There are three adjustments I made after this video: 1) I reduced the signal levels going into the effects circuit, 2) tweaked the voltage-controlled clock circuitry, making the initial clock speed faster, 3) trimmed the gain of the signals coming out of the effects circuit to make them about level with the "dry" signal.

If you are tempted to build this module without the wet/dry fader, don't. I still have the first one I built in my synth, which doesn't have a wet/dry fader, and almost all of the effects really need some dry signal to get through. One of the effects, for instance, is a short slapback-style single delay. With zero dry signal, this is not really an effect at all, it's just a delay of the input. The reverb effects obliterate the dry signal in a lovely wash of lush reverb, which can be useful to turn arpeggios into heavenly sustained chords, but isn't terribly useful otherwise.

So to sum up: include the wet/dry fader!!! You can omit the clock speed mod, although I'm seriously going to love this module's CV controllable clock!

Search AliExpress or Ebay for '100 kinds effect reverberation' and you'll find the reverb module I'm using. They're cheap -- less than $20 shipped."
