Antimatter Audio V3KT Quadraphonic Panner & Vector Mixer For Eurorack

Published on Mar 7, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"Antimatter Audio's V3KT can combine 4 inputs to 1 output, send 1 input to 4 outputs, or mix 4 inputs to 4 outputs. It is controlled by X and Y CV inputs which then generate 4 different CV outputs. When a joystick's X and Y CV outs are connected to the X and Y CV ins the V3KT becomes an intuitive panner/mixer, but of course other CV controls can be used to generate evolving mixes and sounds.

"The V3KT is a 6hp 4-channel morphing vector mixer/quadraphonic panner with dedicated CV logic outs!

• Add vector synthesis, vector mixing, dynamic signal distribution, and quadraphonic panning of signals + CV sources to your synthesizer in just 6hp!

• Use LFOs, envelopes, sequencers, controllers, etc. to control the V3KT to generate unexpected patch animation from otherwise stale mixes.

• Upgrade your joystick/XY pad to a multi-function vector processor/controller! Combine various sources (synth voices, drum machines, radio, samples, spoken word, etc.), to create experimental morphing mixes.

• Create quadraphonic signal panning for surround performances. Distribute a signal to 4 separate effects (distortions, delays, filters, etc.), at modulated levels.

• Morph 4 oscillator waveform outputs to reproduce vintage vector synthesis techniques.

• Use as a CV re-distribution continuous logic center to re-imagine your existing CV sources. Utilize multiple inputs and outputs simultaneously in all modes to create complex, interactive patches."

Antimatter Audio Crossfold Wavefolder And Crossfader

Published on Mar 26, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The Antimatter Audio Crossfold is an 8 stage wavefolder that sounds great with all waveshapes, not just triangle waves like some folders, and features two crossfolders on the input and output. The crossfaders add great utility for dry/wet blending and mixing the two inputs as well as working as a VCA and a few other tricks. We used the Crossfold on a sequenced synth line, drone and to make a metallic percussion sound in this video, but there are many more things you could do with the crossfold.

Antimatter Audio - Crossfold

Published on Mar 2, 2018 DivKidVideo

"Anitmatter Audio prove they're not messing around with design or tone with the Crossfold! A dual input crossfading, mega wide ranging wave folding, distorting, output VCAing module that just works beautifully and sounds great. With the range down there's a huge wide sweet spot of softer more "woody" folding and with the range up you've 8 stages of folding that will go from soft to aggressive and then some. There's a lot of TZFM (through zero frequency modulation) style tones to be had with this too. A great little gem for a system. As you can tell I'm impressed. Fire away with any comments / questions I'll be sure to reply. Cheers!"

3 Modules #22: Maths, Brain Seed, µScale

Published on Sep 7, 2017 Comparative Irrelevance

"We all suspected Maths is evil. Now there's proof.

Patch notes:
I'm using Maths as a dual oscillator drone voice by cycling both functions at audio frequency rate. The "both" inputs are handy for this, as they let you change the rise and fall rates simultaneously, without altering the waveform. Unfortunately they don't track 1V/Oct, so I'm using channel 3 to attenuate the incoming pitch sequence to try to approach some semblance of musical intervals here. As you can see I'm also continuously tuning the oscillators via "the blue knobs"™, looking for interesting beating or harmonic intervals between the oscillators. Changing the rise or fall rate individually has the neat side effect of changing both pitch and harmonics (waveform) at the same time.

To control the drone pitch, I'm using brain seed to generate a stepped sequence. It's receiving a steady external clock to get the patch going. This sequence is then being quantized by the µScale, just to narrow down the random selection a bit (because Maths doesn't track pitch anyways, remember).

Finally, I've cheated in some extra delay and reverb here, to get that proper evil drone ambience going.

Thanks for watching!"

3 Modules #7: STO, Ears, Brain Seed

Published on May 15, 2017 Comparative Irrelevance

"This one is pretty basic, but uses a neat trick with the STO to create amplitude modulation without the use of a VCA.

Patch notes:
Ears is used as a manual trigger. The gate output (which only fires on extra hard hits) is connected to the Brain Seed, cycling through a random eight step sequence. This sequence is quantized to a minor scale, and sent to STO's V/Oct input.

Ears' envelope output is sent to STO's "shape" input. When this parameter is at 0, the output is a sine wave in opposite phase of the dedicated sine wave output. This means that the two outputs cancel each other out when mixed directly. As Ears' envelope moves the shape parameter, it produces a change in amplitude as well as timbre, because it adds harmonics that aren't cancelled by the sine wave.

I'm using a Strymon Big Sky for some added delay/reverb.

Thanks for watching!"

3 Modules #1: Maths, STO, Rings

Published on Apr 15, 2017 Comparative Irrelevance

"My current eurorack setup looks like this: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/v...

Disregarding the 1U row, there are 10 separate modules. This means that there are a total of 120 different three-module combinations possible with my setup. In this video series I intend to explore each and every one of those combinations.

To start it all off: Here’s a drone piece featuring Maths, STO and Rings. I’m using a feedback loop through Rings, which is in «sympathetic strings» mode, over a low drone from the STO. And, of course, Maths provides some complex modulations of the sounds.

Patch illustration: http://imgur.com/a/0hbNA

In principle, each patch will consist of only the three modules in the given combination. HOWEVER, the 1U row is «fair game». Some combinations may necessitate mixing, attenuation or an input clock signal, and this is why I won’t count the bottom row of utilities as separate modules. I’ll be happy to take requests as to which combinations to try out next."

Modular Ballet

"Pleasant sounds from the FM mode on Rings. The arpeggios are generated with an attenuated white noise signal being sampled and quantized by the AntiMatter Brain Seed, which in turn is clocked by Maths (also self modulating the clock timing)."

Two Synth Events at Control Voltage in Portland This Weekend

via Control Voltage

"Basic Synthesis 6: Voice Construction
Saturday, June 25th, 1-2pm, Free

Join us this Saturday for the final session in our current Basic Synthesis series - a set of recurring casual presentations usually held every-other Saturday, each an hour in length with ample time for questions. The purposs is to de-mystify the synthesizer piece-by-piece using the modular synth.

The session is all about building complete synthesizer voices with eurorack modules using a couple different manufactures as well as from keyboard synth makers like Moog, Arturia, Korg, Elektron, Novation and Dave Smith Instruments.
Presented by Joseph Pailo.

Control Voltage
3742 N Mississippi Ave, 97227
06/25/16 from 1-2pm

Micro Ion Analysis - Self generating soundscape

Published on Sep 7, 2015 A Box In The Sea

"I don't own a sequencer per se. The closest I have is the Brain Seed which has the option to be controlled and triggered by CV. I have nothing against self generating patches but I feel more like a programmer rather than playing with expression. So while the patch is generative I'm controlling (tonally) it and Alchemy with the Linnstrument which allows for the most amazing 3D expression.

GEAR:
Nebulae, Braids, Phonogene, Clouds, Ultra Random Analog, 3 Sisters, Brain Seed, G8, Alchemy, Soundscaper and the Linnstrument."
