The synth to the right of the desk is a Crumar Spirit. For those not familiar with the Stratus, it was designed by Bob Moog, Jim Scott and Tom Rhea. Via Hans: "yes the fabled Spirit. this radioactive show just popped up but afterward we're starting a small video section. and we'll have a go at the Spirit. if you've never played with one, they are truly unique. between the filter section and the mod routing, disturbing..."

Admin: Synth Cats, Dogs, Birds and Lizards

Important news. I created new labels for Cats, Dogs, Birds and Lizards so they are more in line with the current Synth labels. Each will now be preceded by Synth, so Synth Cats, Synth Dogs, etc.. I'll leave the old labels for old posts for anyone linking to them and just add the new ones. I do have labels for cow and horse, and of course there's lemur, but Lenny seems to be dominating there, and cow and horse only have two posts each, so I'll leave them as is for now. Only on MATRIXSYNTH...

"Okay, so this is one of my more strange experimental ideas. The keyboard at the top of the screen (a Yamaha SY-35) is midi'd into the lower keyboard (a Novation KS-5). The KS-5 is programmed with a simple arpeggio patch I created which can be played from the SY-35. Then I covered the keys of the SY-35 with cat biscuits and let my kitten Daisy loose on it. I was then able to control some aspects of the sound with conrols on the KS-5. I think she got wise to me about half way through as she stopped standing on the keys. Damn kitty!"
