Trickledown Modular Tetris - A Quick Test After Filling The Holes

video upload by John L Rice

"Another quick test after changes. This is another side affect of the @vermonagear MEX3 coming out, because when making changes to my briefcase system I ended up stealing the @4ms_company Wav Recorder from this system for it, so I had to fill in the left over 6hp of space with something else. 😅🤓 I put in the @division6labs Mix VI and @noiseeng Clep Diaz."

JLR's Modular Synthesizers - System Breakdown #7 -

video upload by John L Rice

"This is the seventh video breakdown/rundown for my 'physically largest' eurorack 'Table Case' system although it only has 23 modules in it and ranks only 4th place for most modules out of my 7 eurorack systems! It houses a majority of my Synthrotek/Division 6/Mattson modules. Next time I'll do a small 5U system in an angled desktop case. Please subscribe to my channel and click the 'bell' button to be notified when I post new videos! (because as you may know, I post inconsistently! 😒😊)

Quick Test After Korg MS2000R MIDI Switching Modification

video upload by John L Rice

"In this custom case of eurorack modules and a Korg MS2000R I have a custom interface module that brings all of the MS2000R’s inputs and outputs to the front. Last year I added a switch to the panel to select MIDI from either the panel’s input jack or what ever is plugged into the Synthrotek MIDI To Cv module. Today I added a behind the panel connection from the Division6 / Mattson SQ816 sequencer to the custom panels’s MIDI input so I can dispense with using an external cable. #eurorackmodular #modularsynth #korg"

"The sequencer for the Mattson Mini Modular is available in the Eurorack format. One 52HP panel includes all the functions of the main sequencer and the expansion module. Here are some of the sequencer's basic features:

2 rows of 8 steps, or daisy-chain them for a 16-step sequence.
A user tap-tempo mode that overrides the internal VC or external Clocks providing both timing and gate-length.
Global and Individual stage 0/+1 octave shift.
Three user-selectable gate length outputs: Short, follow (the clock duty cycle) and long.
Row 1 and/or row 3 quantized/linear output selection (1V/O format)
Various inputs and outputs for daisy-chaining multiple units.
Run-on-Gate input allows for sequencer stage advance only when a gate is applied to the input.
Ping-Pong and random modes. Switching back to Ping-Pong from Random re-enters at the same point and direction that it left at.
Manual push-button mute during forward or reverse run operations.
Standard stage advance or, Start-on Stage operation. The sequencer starts on the stage it is set to on the next valid clock cycle without having to preset it to the stage prior to the stage you want it to start on.
16 independent stage gate outputs (+5V).
Foot switch jack that parallels the panel pushbutton or, can be configured with a jumper for use with future features.
MIDI output providing note on/off, note value and octave shifts for recording the programmed events on a MIDI recorder.
USB port for updating the sequencer's firmware.
Reverse-polarity protection."

Paperoga build - 11/21/2022

video upload by SynthMania

"The slow build of 'Paperoga', my newer portable DotCom, ancillary to Brigitta (but also great standalone). Paperoga (Fethry Duck) was one of my favorite characters of 'Topolino' (Mickey Mouse), a popular Italian cartoon magazine from when I was a kid in the '70s. Here in this video we are testing some oscillators, filter, envelopes. Drums from Cubase DAW."

Note the sequencer is a SYNTHETIC SOUND LABS - MINI SEQUENCER II. Some info via Noisebug:

"An upgraded version of our popular 1651 with greatly improved features. A collaboration with our friends at Division-6.

Feature enhancements over the 1650 include:

7 sequence memories
5 song memories (string sequences together)
SLUR- change pitch between steps without firing gate
Variable gate timing (including ratcheting)
ACC can be set to drop or not drop between steps, or follow gate timing for that step
Auto-advance step when programming
Live transpose (use the keyboard to shift entire sequence up or down while running)
Live edit (buttons you push while running get saved to the sequence)
1X mode (disable to use XP IN as a reset without requiring an external gate mixer)
Clock out (use ACC out jack to output clock if using internal clock)
The 1651 gives you standard CV and pulse out, plus an ACC out (Accent? Accessory?) Use the ACC output to open up a filter, enable a glide, trigger a drum, or whatever you can think of.

It has its own internal clock to get you up and running in a hurry, but you can connect an external clock if you need greater control of tempo or want to sync with other devices.

The module can store up to 5 songs of 16 sequences each, and 7 sequences of up to 16 steps each. Wow!"

Division 6 Business Card Sequencer and Synthesizer with a Korg NTS1

video upload by Chuck Stephens

"This is a Division 6 Business Card Sequencer and Synthesizer. These came as kits. The sequencer was $35 and the synth was $45. The sequencer is very capable. If you have any gear that takes CV pitch/gate buy one now! The synth is kinda lofi but it has potential with careful adjustment. For $80 this is a fun pair!

I ran them both through a Korg NTS1 for some delay, reverb and drums. The NTS1 is a $90 digital synth/effects kit. If you play music go bug one immediately! Seriously, I use the NTS1 as a synth with a midi keyboard, as a generative drum machine with the Ruismaker drum beta download and as an effects processor for everything. Anyway, this is a quick jam after some careful tweaking. I could record an album with this rig and a Keystep!"

"This sequencer is simple and fun with two 8 step channels or one 16 step output. Notes are sequenced via a tiny keyboard arrangement with step input similar to a 303. This module is in great working condition with just some rack rash."

New Synthetic Sound Labs in Conjunction with Division-6 Buchla Format 3650 Digital Sequencer

"Synthetic Sound Labs has just released its new 3650 Digital Sequencer module – SSL’s first venture into the popular Buchla 200e format – and is in close collaboration with the folks at Division-6.

Simple operation and straightforward functions make the 3650 easy to learn, and the concise panel graphics avoid menu-diving syndrome.

The 3650 has 5 song memories to string up to 16 sequences together, and 7 sequence memories with up to 16 steps per sequence.

Sequences of up to 16 steps are easily programmed using the built-in keyboard and octave switches, covering a range of 5 octaves. A separate Accent output pulse is available which can be selected for each of the steps, allowing triggering of other sequencers, envelopes, etc.

Sequences can be set to any length up to 16 steps by using LOOP feature. Setting a step using the REST button, holds previous pitch and doesn’t fire PULSE out, while setting a step to SLUR, changes to the new CV and doesn’t fire the PULSE out.

The keyboard can be used to “Live” transpose a running sequence, or as a tiny CV keyboard while in Standby mode without altering the programmed sequence.

The 3650 has a convenient internal clock, but external clocks are recommended to allow the greatest timing flexibility.

The ACC (ACCessory / ACCent) output can be programmed into each step and has 3 operating modes. The ACC output can also be used to output the internal clock, but not at the same time.

The Pulse Output has 16 different width timing options, including 3 different ratchets.

The Start Input resets the sequencer to step #1. It also puts it in run mode if it is not already. The End Output sends a gate pulse when a running sequence drops off the end (goes past 16 or hits a LOOP step). The Start Input and End Output can work together to allow easy cascading of two or more 3650s.

The SSL 3650 is an easy to use sequencer with powerful features not available in many other modules of it’s kind.
SSL uses quality fiberglass-epoxy printed circuit boards, precision automated robotics and meticulous hand-crafted assembly assure years of trouble-free service.

Synthetic Sound Labs has been in the analog synthesizer business since 1973. The 3650 is yet another in SSL’s growing line of new synthesizer modules. Proudly made in the USA.

Pricing is $495 US and available exclusively through NoiseBug, Pomona, CA."

Division 6 CEM3340 VCO & Business Card Sequencer

Published on May 17, 2020 matrixsynth

Update: crazy little noodle added above. Description: "I don’t know what this is, but it sure is fun. Division 6 CEM3349 VCO oscillator sweep, Malekko Richter Oscillator II sequenced by Division 6 Dual Mini Sequencer and Tiptop BD808 and SD808 triggered by Z8000 Matrix Sequencer/Programmer. Noisering modding the Oscillator II for a little added grit. All through Mattson Mini Modular JP VCF and finally TC Electronic M300. Peeeeew!!! Kidding aside, listen to how low it goes with decent speakers. The CEM3340 was used in the Moog Memorymoog, Oberheim OB-Xa, Octave Voyetra Eight, Roland SH-101, MC-202, Jupiter-6, MKS-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 10 & T8, Pro-One, Prophet-600, Banana Poly Synth, Crumar Spirit, Synton Syrinx, and more. See for yourself here. The Curtis CEM3340 was re-issued in 2016."

A few pics of a surprise package in the mail the other day. :) A Division 6 CEM3340 VCO & V2 update chips for my Business Card Sequencer. Pics of them in the rack below. Looking forward to giving them a run through.
