Guitar Bits (TX Wiggles 62)

Published on May 18, 2020 poorness studios

"I was just messing around with Eurorack and guitar this morning and came up with this glitchy combination of sounds. It uses the Dave Smith Mopho & Korg Volca Beats along with the modular and the guitar. The guitar goes into the Pittsburgh InOut and then into the Dwarfcraft Hax and finally through MI Clouds. Both are heavily modulated by various CV sources."

Moffenzeef Stargazer & MSG II Drone Synthesizers

Published on Jan 4, 2019

"Moffenzeef has two standalone drone synthesizers, the full featured and gritty Stargazer which has a dual wavetable oscillator, sample rate reducer, dual resonant filters, three LFOs and distortion. We also used the smaller MSG II with Dwarfcraft Devices Hax 2 ring modulator pedal.

The Stargazer has 90 different waveforms letting you get a ton of different textures from the oscillators, it also has an expression pedal input to control the speed of the LFOs, in this video we used some Moffenzeef modules in a 4MS Pod case to control the LFOs.

The MSG II is smaller than the Stargazer, but has 8 different synthesis modes, so it can also produce many different sounds."

Dwarfcraft Reese LIghtning (Reese bass demo w/Elektron analog keys, octatrack)

Published on Jul 26, 2018 theonetrueaen

"Finally, I get to show you what this thing was made for.
Yeah, most of our customers will use it on guitar or bass, but it's called Reese Lightning because it's made to tear up your synth, too.

Featuring pretty much my first octatrack project, too."

via Dwarfcraft:

"At Dwarfcraft, we do not fear the storm, we do not run from it. We are the storm. First came the Eau Claire Thunder, and then the Baby Thunder. Perhaps you only heard distant rumblings, but now you can see the Reese Lightning on the horizon.

It’s versatile, it’s compact, and it will wreck whatever you point it at. Reese picks up where the Thunder left off. It’s brighter and dirtier. The Timewarp toggle connects/disconnects a clipping diode for some octave-up artifacts to scratch your psych itch. Toneblast bypasses the tone control, for EVEN MORE volume and more timbral changes. The Feedback switch and knob are especially savage and enjoyable, practically begging you to let your freak flag fly.

We’ve also implemented some of the most common customer requests. This bad boy has true bypass soft switching, top-mounted jacks, and for the bass players, a clean blend.

The name 'Reese Lightning' comes from the age old synthesis technique called “Reese Bass.” So you better believe it’ll sound cool on your keytar or your theremin."

Moog Sub 37 vs. Dwarfcraft Devices

Published on Jun 11, 2018 theonetrueaen

"A big fat slice of audio adventure! The Sub 37 runs into the Dwarfcraft Necromancer, Ghost Fax, and Grazer for loads of mean electronic leads, glitched out percussion, and super grumpin' basses.
Pedals will do your synth a world of good, and vice versa!"

Dwarfcraft Devices - Grazer Granular Glitch Pedal

Published on Mar 15, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Demoing the Grazer with a Critter & Guitari Organelle and a stratocaster plus using it with a expression pedal to control the Pitch. The Grazer is a granular repeater and glitch machine, which builds sounds by continuously taking tiny samples from the input audio. The sounds range from off-kilter echoes, all the way up to harsh machine glitches.

Novation circuit meets modular synth

Published on Jun 29, 2017 theonetrueaen

"Ever wonder about integrating a Circuit with a modular rig? ME TOO! I ran the midi out from the circuit (just the first synth voice) into the Critter and Guitari Melody Mill, and sent the resulting pitch CV out to the Pittsburgh Modular Double Helix, and Make Noise Telharmonic. I ran the gate signal to the Double Helix, 4MS PEG, and pittsburgh envelope. The envelope opens and closes a VCA for the telharmonic's audio. The circuit and modular are all mixed in the rack, and sent out to Propellerhead Reason for recording.

This is my first crack at this, so forgive me if it isn't as SUPER COOL as yours would be."

via MATRIXSYNTH Member Ramachandra Borcar:

"This track is taken off Ubisoft's 'Far Cry 4: Lakshmana Edition' videogame OST. Although Cliff Martinez did the score for a great deal of the game, I composed the music for both the Shangri-La & Arena Missions. The Shangri-La portions of the game combine live percussion & wind instruments with an array of synths, fx and drum machines, whereas the Arena Missions are exclusively performed live.

Synths used on the soundtrack: EMS VCS3, Roland SH-101 & Juno 106, Korg MS20, Moog Micromoog, Skychord Sleepdrone 5, Folktek modified OM-84 Omnichord, Dwarfcraft Rot Yr Brain and a Dewanatron Swarmatron.

Drum machines used on the soundtrack: Roland TR-808, Jomox M Brane 11, Companion 4 In The Floor

FX used: tons of new & vintage fx racks and pedals.

Live musicians:
Ramachandra Borcar: synthesizers, bowed cymbals, percussion, electronics
Patrick Graham: Japanese, Chinese and Korean percussion, hand cymbals
Shawn Mativetsky: tablas, dhol, percussion
Liu Fang: pipa
Claude Maheu: shenai, nagaswaram, Indian straight flute and bansuri, Chinese oboe
