Droni di un futuro passato | Error Instruments Radio Sputnik UVB-76 | Soundmit Video [NO TALK] #02

video by SOUNDMIT

Googlish:

"We had for a few days in the studio this little gem of Error Instruments, a Drone generator with a part dedicated to patch cables, a micro-modular with very intriguing sounds and characteristics.

We combined it with a Grayscale Microcell (Mutable Instruments Clouds clone), a Jomox ModBase MK2 for the kick sound (we will see it in an upcoming review in detail) and the prototype (final finally) of Faselunare's Vega. All rhythms (except kick) are the work of Vega. All controlled by an always good Beatstep Pro. (There is also a MatrixMixer and a couple of delays)

While you watch and listen to the video (I recommend headphones or a generous bass system)."

AI Synthesis Ai008 Eurorack Matrix Mixer Module

Uploaded on Sep 2, 2019 AI Synthesis

Update: new videos added.

Playlist:
1. Using the AI008 Matrix Mixer as a Eurorack Feedback Mixer
2. Feedback oscillator Patching with a Matrix Mixer
3. Creating a CV Feedback Patch with the AI008 Matrix Mixer
4. AI008 DIY Eurorack Matrix Mixer build Guide

"Portland, OR, USA September 2, 2019 – AI Synthesis has released the AI008 Matrix Mixer in both a built and guaranteed version, as well as in kit and PCB/Panel format. The AI008 Matrix mixer has four inputs and three dedicated output, as well as a summed output. The module allows users to mix multiple inputs to multiple outputs, allowing for flexible routing of cv to multiple destinations, feedback FX patches, self-modulating oscillators, self-modulating cv sources, and many more applications. In 10HP.

Following the tradition of the other eurorack modules, the AI001 Multiple,AI002 Mixer, and AI003 Looping ADSR, the module has a full video how-to build guide. Unlike some DIY companies that focus solely on providing kits, AI Synthesis has an educational mission and our kits and documentation are aimed at those who have never held a soldering iron. PCBS are professionally manufactured, and all panels are aluminum and designed by Grayscale.

'In the year 2000, I was in college and obsessed with modular synths, but could barely afford to eat. I knew it was possible to build your own synth, but there wasn’t anyone, or anywhere to turn to for advice. In the past decade, much more information has been published online, and in 2013 I started down my path to DIY modular. Even with all of the information online, there still lacked a single, simple, comprehensive guide for those looking to build their own synthesizer. I want AI Synthesis to be that guide. Prior to building my own synth, I was a dreamer, after building my modular, I felt I had awoken. I want to help others do the same.'

Podcast 277: Wes Milholen (Grayscale)

Published on May 19, 2019 20Objects

"I've known Wes Milholen for a while - I first met him as he was working on some of his first replacement faceplates. He was part of the Denver/Boulder modular scene, and we spent time at meetups and performances. I always found his crisp and clean designs to my liking, and found him to be a thoughtful developer and talented performer.

He's gone on to do a lot more stuff: module development, more panel designs, and even design work for VCV rack. As you'll hear in this interview, he views design work to be his calling, and it shows in everything that he touches.

We had a great talk - some reminiscing, some product history talk, and a lot of discussion about the world of modular synthesis. Wes has his finger on the pulse of that world, and has some good insight on where things came from and where they are going.

Check out his work at https://grayscale.info/, https://1979.ws/ and https://vcvrack.com/. He's also hanging around mose social media sites and Muffwiggler's forum."

Grayscale Supercell - expanded version of Clouds by Mutable Instruments

via Grayscale

"Clouds, the granular synthesis module from Mutable Instruments, was discontinued in 2017. Supercell brings back Clouds in a more accessible 34 hp form factor, offering an improved user interface and several additional features:

Each of the Blend parameters (Feedback, Panning, Mix, and Space) have dedicated knobs with their own CV inputs and inverting attenuators (attenuverters).
The inputs and outputs now have mute switches, stereo VCAs, and separate VU meters. The knobs act as offset controls when their respective VCA inputs are patched.
A stereo output gain control has been added, providing an additional +6 dB of gain to compensate for low output levels when using certain parameter combinations.
The complex process of changing the sampling time and managing presets has been simplified with dedicated switches and status LEDs.
Extensive modulation options for all parameters including direct patching of external CV, distribution of one CV to all parameters via the AUX input, or an internal smooth random CV that is normalized to any unpatched inputs when AUX is also unpatched. The attenuverters control the modulation depth in all three cases. As of firmware v1.01 the internal modulation rate can be adjusted within a range of 1 to 100 Hz.
The inputs and outputs now include stereo VCAs and separate VU meters. The knobs act as offset controls when their respective VCA inputs are patched.
Pitch is now controlled by two separate inputs: the V/Oct input is exponential and the Pitch input is linear. When both inputs are used, their voltages are summed.
A manual Trig switch (for capturing individual grains) has been added, in addition to the Trig input that was present on Clouds.

All other features of the original Clouds remain intact, including access to the alternate modes. Thanks to Olivier Gillet for making the original Clouds hardware and firmware available under open-source licenses. Third-party firmware such as Parasites (by Matthias Puech) and Beat Repeat (by Julius Kammerl) will be supported in future firmware updates after the initial release of the module."

Makenoise Wogglebug

Published on Dec 11, 2018 Grant Richter

"Makenoise Wogglebug Commercial"

Grant Richter of Wiard is the creator of the original Wogglebug. Make Noise and Malekko produce Wogglebug eurorack modules. I forget if there are others. If you know, feel free to comment!

Update: Thanks to unkown in the comments, apparently Malekko did not make a Wogglebug. They made the Richter Oscillator II, Dual Borg Filter, Envelator, Noisering, and Anti-Oscillator. Erica Synths, Zlob, and S3n0Я made a Wogglebug according to Modular Grid, and Grayscale made custom faceplates for the Make Noise version.

Melodic Slurs Buchla 200e and DAO

Published on Dec 30, 2017

"'Melodic Slurs' Buchla 200e and DAO improv.

Main VCO is the new Grayscale DAO "Dual Algorithmic Oscillator" - a Buchla format module build and sold by Grayscale:

http://grayscale.info/buchla/

More exploration! Actually, I was just enjoying the tone of one of the SYNC setting for one of teh 2x VCO's! - The main sequence is from the 250e in a sort of "quantizer" setup... with a S&H patch on the 266e controlling what stages of the 250e. I used a 254e to mix and offset voltages from the 250e and the 218e.

Outputs of the Buchla are patched into the AKS, then patched through the Synthi eq and spring reverb.

Cheers! - Djangosfire"

Buchla format “Dual Algorithmic Oscillator” Patch Test

Published on Sep 15, 2017 djangosfire

"Patch testing a beautiful 'Dual Algorithmic Oscillator' prototype that Grayscale Modular sent me to try out - essentially two Mutable Instruments 'Braids' in one panel.

Wish I had more time to dig in… but WOW!! This is a PERFECT addition to a Buchla 200e/200r system.

Can’t wait to get one of these for my system…. absolutely incredible - and IMHO a great fit to the Buchla format!

Check out http://www.grayscale.info/buchla/ for more info!

Cheers,

Grayscale - Algorhythm

Published on Jun 8, 2015 DivKidMusic

"Accompanied by the also great Binary module here's my overview of the Algorythm module from Grayscale. A fun and very instant module capable of a lot of things including trigger/gate sequencing, clock division, random gates and more. With CV over modes and step length and looping controls I've found myself patching it up different almost every time I've used it. Very nice! :)
