Testing a new trigger sequencer module - Midiverse - TV

video upload by Midiverse - TV

"What's up everybody? Welcome to Midiverse - TV! In an effort to expand our line up of hands on drum controller modules, we've been working on an eight step trigger sequencer. In this video we test out the module (three of them to be exact), trigger some additional drums/cymbals via the MVM005 Quad Arcade Button Module, and add some visual content via the LZX video synthesizer.

Assembled Modules and DIY kits for the Trigger Sequencer are coming soon, Arcade Button Modules are available now.

Synth Rorschach #59: Scanimate: The Origins of Computer Motion Graphics

Scanimate: The Origins of Computer Motion Graphics from LinkedIn Learning on Vimeo.

This one is for the video synthesis fans out there.  As for the Synth Rorschach, see what specific synths you are reminded of watching this one. This one is in via Soviet Space Child.

"Digital artists have been trying to replicate the ephemeral quality of graphics from the 70s and 80s for years. But nothing comes close to the real (analog) thing. Get to know the first computer used for motion graphics and animation, Scanimate, and the men who've kept the machine alive for the last four decades. In this short documentary, Nick Campbell of Greyscalegorilla talks to Roy Weinstock, one of the original Scanimate animators, and Dave Sieg, the engineer who has kept it running all these years. Find out how this system of "tubes and 2x4s" became the predecessor of many modern motion graphics plugins and controls, and how the unusual collaboration between operators and engineers led to some of the most iconic motion graphics of the 1980s—including spots for Super Bowl VIII, Star Wars, and children's shows like The Electric Company and Sesame Street."

Rutt-Etra Style Vector Rescanning With LZX Eurorack Modules & Vectrex

Published on Feb 15, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"We used the LZX Visual Cortex, Navigator and Shapechanger to generate and manipulate scanline images that are displayed on a Vectrex monitor. Read our article about scanline manipulation for more information about how this works: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/articl...

We used the LZX Escher Sketch as a control interface for the vectors. The sounds are generated in the eurorack case by a Rossum Assimil8or sampler for drums and a Harvestman Piston Honda MK3 for synthesizer sounds. A Strymon Magneto provides delay and reverb.

Dr. Walker // Live @ KONTAKTOR

Published on Sep 24, 2018 Erica Synths

"KONTAKTOR - Live Elektronik Musik festival's first edition took place on first of June in Riga Electrical Machine Building works main building, Sarkandaugava Industrial Park. A night long celebration of audacious electronic music brought together carefully curated live acts only. The program of the event aimed to recoil from the currently common and to accentuate mutating and ever evolving forms of techno, industrial, noise & experimental music. The event was created and produced by Erica Synths.

Dr. Walker, a founding member of Air Liquide, Asbest! and the head of the Liquid Sky Berlin and the soon upcoming Liquid Sky Portugal, also a part of Erica Synths team, brought a live set to trap the festival attendees within groovier rhythms eventually growing into harsher bangers and noisy soundscapes.

MONOLITH Modular Analog Monosynth - Only 5 Made

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is a beautiful, rare analog modular monosynth; the Monolith from LZX Industries.

Only 5 of these were ever made, so you’re unlikely to see one again any time soon.

This synth sounds great doing bread-and-butter monosynth sounds and can also get a bit wild when you crank up the resonance on the self-oscillating filter. Plus it’s fully modular so you can get crazy with the patching.

Here are the specs;

The LZX Monolith is a 5U form factor modular synthesizer voice enclosed in one panel design and is based on the Music from Outer Space Sound Lab.
A ready-to-go fully modular synth voice that can easily work with 1v per octave analog equipment, midi to cv converter with your midi controllers or computer, or something like the Akai Max 49.

Modules are as follows:
· VCO 1 (Sawtooth, 2 FM ports)
· VCO 2 (Sawtooth and Pulse, Pulsewidth Modulation, FM1, FM2)
· Signal Mixer (3 ins summed to one out, individual knobs to attenuate volume or voltage)
· VCF (Resonant Lowpass and Bandpass filter, Cutoff FM port.
· VCA (1 I/O, 2 CV ports to influence volume)
· Secondary Signal Mixer (Another stage of audio or voltage blending, 2 Ins, 1 Inverted in, 1 Out.)
· AD Envelope Generator (Trig or Gate switch, Cycle mod to simulate LFO effects, Trig In, Voltage out. )
· Modulation Generator (Sawtooth, Triangle, Ramp, Square, Fast or Slow mode switch, Frequency knob, CV out)
· Noise Generator
· Blank Ports are Multis
· Real Wood End-Cheeks!"

Live Video synthesis by Cobramatic using LZX, Jones MVIP and Euro synth modules treating original (plus some hijacked) and live video sources via a P10 and video mixer. Live pattern generation and video feedback.

Sound and video quality are not great unfortunately - this is the majority of the show as filmed on an early digital SLR and an iPhone. (The Distorted audio is from the camera recording - not the audio on the night, there is better Audio on the shorter clip here: https://youtu.be/KaBL6PbPEB8 )

Professional Video/Audio is available and hopefully will follow on another channel - (subject to Copyright).
Supporting Act videos will be posted on this channel in future...
