As the world’s first synthesizer of its kind, the Resynator was way ahead of its time, but unfortunately never saw the proper production and distribution it deserved."

When I was 23, I began working for Grace Potter as a tour assistant. Grace is my hero and one of the most talented humans I’ve ever met. Over the years of touring and being around musicians constantly, it would come up in conversation that my dad invented a synth, but I didn't know anything else about it - I truly didn't even really understand what a synthesizer was. Eventually when we had a few weeks off tour in 2014, I flew to Indiana to get it.

Resynator Documentary Coming to Kickstarter

There have only been two previous posts featuring the Musico Resynator below here. Alison Tavel wrote in to let me know she is working on a documentary on the Resynator which was actually created by her father, Don Tavel. The trailer for the film is above. You might recognize a few people. :) The Kickstarter campaign for the film launches in six days. It's looking to be a great documentary.

"A few years ago I was contacted by Alison Tavel regarding the Resynator, a Pitch and Envelope tracking synthesizer her father Don Tavel had invented in the 1980s.

The Resynator had quite a pedigree from the start, Don Tavel had a Masters degree in Music from the Indiana University Center for Electronic and Computer Music. The difficult engineering design work was done by the legendary Mike Beigel, founder of Musitronics.

Where things get really interesting for the vintage Roland guitar synth player, though, is with the Hexsynator, which looks to be a fully polyphonic six-voice extension of the original unit, complete with a cool vintage Roland 24-pin guitar input!

VERY RARE - you could use a guitar, mic - anything with a 1/4" output"

Anyone know more about these? I've never seen one below.  This is the first Musico post.
