"The Base Station is the control center of the AR-48. Let's explore how it works:

Sound ( 1 )
The Sound section features 460 customizable instrument sounds and a synthesizer with three sub-oscillators. Sound parameters can be changed instantly and are easily visible on the section’s dedicated LCD screen.

Sequence ( 2 )
In the Sequence section, you can access and edit Songs or Pattern sequences, as well as save up to 384 patterns and 99 songs. Using the backlit LED buttons on the built-in 32-step loop sequencer, you can create musical patterns in real-time or add Swing or Tempo to any sequence of your choice.

Effect ( 3 )
The Effects section offers 16 Master Effects, including reverb, high- and low-pass filters, delay, bit crush, and more. Use them during song and pattern playback, in the studio, or during live performances.

Rec/Play ( 4 )
Record and save your music in seconds in the Rec/Play section. You can also use audio capture mode, record motion sequences, and save your work automatically.

Get Into The Ring

The AR-48’s Ring Controller lets your personality shine through. Have a look at its features:

16 Programmable Pads
The ARQ features 16 pressure-sensitive pads with programmable LEDs that allow you to play instrument sounds, trigger samples, and record sequences.

3-Axis Accelerometer
With the 3-axis accelerometer, you can use movement to trigger effects like delay and reverb. Each axis can be assigned to adjust any of your chosen effects parameters.

Easy Controls
Dedicated buttons let you play/pause tracks, solo and mute sections, as well as split, arpeggiate, and change effects. You can also switch between PAD and SCALE layout using the Ring’s dedicated buttons. The Grip Mode button prevents you from accidentally triggering pads when you pick up the Ring.

Optional Bluetooth Adapter
An optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter lets you use the Ring Controller wirelessly during live performances."

MESSE 2018: General Music Elka Panther Organ Recreation

Published on Apr 11, 2018 sonicstate

"Spotted at the General Music booth in the ominously quiet hall 11.1, was a virtual Organ instrument based on the little known Italian Elka Panther - an organ made in the 1960s to sound like the classic Vox Continental and Farfisas of the time.

The Panther was modeled after they found a pristine Panther original in the estate of an ex Elka employee. Together with all the schematics and manuals.

The new Panther virtual will be available soon priced at around 99 Euros from General Music.

MESSE 2018: CHRT Synthesizer - A True Analogue Monophonic Valve Synthesizer

Published on Apr 11, 2018 sonicstate

Update: one more from Synth Anatomy:

MESSE 2018: CHRT Synthesizer - Analog Valve Instrument For Wind Instrumentalists | SYNTH ANATOMY

via http://www.chrtsynth.org

"CHRT Synthesizer is a true analog monophonic valve sythesizer, designed mainly as a sound module for MIDI wind controllers, such as Yamaha WX5 or Akai EWI. A slight variation of firmware can turn it into a greatly responsive sound module for a keyboard player.

The main features of CHRT Synthesizer are:

natural electric, real synth sound - no attempts to "sound-like-some-acoustic-instrument"
different approach to sound synthesis compared to mainstream subtractive analogs - something I would like to call Natural Synthesis
the whole tone signal path is a pure thermionic valve circuit, digital circuits are used only for what they are good at - MIDI to CV, tuning, etc.
it is designed by a saxophonist, therefore with great demands on dynamics, phrasing, articulation, accents - simply a real musical instrument you have to learn a bit how to play
which means it fully utilizes all MIDI data coming from the wind controller
proper design in terms of earthing, ground circuit and shielding ensures that the instrument has no hum or noise issues
The basic CHRT Synthesizer design is a 2U 19" rack

shipped as a DIY kit, while you can decide on the level of help and assistance with assembly, boards soldering, activation and debugging.

However, the structure is quite flexible and can fit, for example, into some vintage cases. Please do not hesitate to discuss the possibilities.
Here is the CHRT Synthesizer built into a case rescued from a wreck of a 50s tape recorder:

The software part - firmware can be adopted to your needs, e.g. a custom MIDI implementation. Please do not hesitate to discuss the possibilities."
