8/2/23 Yamaha DD-10 + Metasonix RK8 & R-57 + Zerosum Inertia 6AS6 + Synthwerks FSR-2P + PCM 70

video upload by Cfpp0

"Yamaha DD-10 plays its 'Computer Swing' beat, with Intro/Fill 2.

The left output of the Yamaha goes straight into the audio in on the RK8. The right output of the Yamaha goes to the Synthwerks FSR-2P and then into CV in on the RK8 (though it is not used in this video). The mix audio out of the RK8 goes to the Mazzatron pass through to the EWI bay to the Samson bay to the Mackie Onyx 16:4, where it gets PCM 70 Gated palate on an aux. Two bands from the RK8 go to the Zerosum Inertia 6AS6 (it matters which goes to which input). The 6AS6 out goes to the Synthwerks FSR-2P and then to the R-57 and through the Mazzatron pass through into the EWI bay into the Samson bay into the Mackie. Towards the end, it actually sounds better when the Yamaha volume is reduced, so more or less input gain is critical to the RK8 like it is with Metasonix TM and TX boxes."

JLR's Modular Synthesizers - System Breakdown #7 -

video upload by John L Rice

"This is the seventh video breakdown/rundown for my 'physically largest' eurorack 'Table Case' system although it only has 23 modules in it and ranks only 4th place for most modules out of my 7 eurorack systems! It houses a majority of my Synthrotek/Division 6/Mattson modules. Next time I'll do a small 5U system in an angled desktop case. Please subscribe to my channel and click the 'bell' button to be notified when I post new videos! (because as you may know, I post inconsistently! 😒😊)

The Bats of Ballard - 44.5

The Bats of Ballard - 44.5 from Steve Turnidge on Vimeo.

No synths?! Then why post this? Well, every now and then I like to share what the makers of synths are doing out there in addition to making the gear we love. Enter, Steve Turnidge of SYNTHWERKS. That's him on bass. I ran into him last night at the Jean-Michel Jarre show, along with Jamie Simmonds, aka Mr.Simmonds. It was an amazing show BTW. There are two dates left on the tour: https://jeanmicheljarre.com. Just go! If you can make it, you will not be dissapointed. Anyway, Steve shared the video above with me and I thought I'd post it. Enjoy the non-synth music, although there are some keys in there, mainly organ.

"A track from the recording session of the 44th album by The Bats of Ballard... Fully improvised at The Player's Lounge, Seattle.

Patchwerks Signals 2018 Seattle Synth Meet Pics

Signals 2018 - Patchwerks Synth Meet

Some pics from this year's Signals Synth Meet hosted by Patchwerks in Seattle, WA. Hover over the image and click on the right arrow to flip through pics.

Roland showed their new System 500 eurorack modules by Malekko, it is now official. Industrial Music Elecectronics, aka The Harvestman, had their new Piston Honda mkII with built-in graphic display. Synthwerks, a Seattle native, were showing their modules. As is tradition, a ton of people brought their own gear to share with others. You'll spot a Fairlight from synthroom.com (click through for a great shot of the system at Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada), an EMS SYNTHI, a DATO DUO and some old school rotary phones (not sure what they did as I didn't get a chance to check them out), some alternative/diy controllers, and of course plenty of eurorack, 5U (John L Rice), and Buchla modular. Also the only MATRIXSYNTH military hat in existence! :) It's owned by Larry Kleinke, aka Computer Controlled, who had the Roland gear, white Korg Arp Odyssey desktop, and Abstrakt Instruments Avalon.

Tom Oberheim Two Voice Pro: Excerpt from Yesterday Afternoon

Published on Oct 10, 2016 darkenergymedia

"While the New TVS Pro is a 'reissue' of the TVS of the classic SEM sound of the 70's, there are a few details that have transformed this instrument - once destined to sit atop a Hammond B-3 or in a multi-keyboard rack, the new TVS feels really at home playing with my modular systems, providing handy pitch and timing reference, and it makes a nice compact master keyboard for playing polyphonic synths without having to fire up the DAW.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

The Tom Oberheim TVS Pro plays sequence #1, while supplying clock to the modular systems' sequencers.

- a Karp hi hat
- a Wiard kick
- a Tonestar grand casa
- MiniMod Bass
- Elements chunk
- Serge funk
- 2 Roland MKS 80 Super Jupiters pad, played from TVS Pro Keyboard Local OFF.

- a Wiard Pedal tone
- Wiard mayhem

- Serge and Nebulae suspense

The music in the video is performed live, without overdubbing or editing - special thanks to Anthony Baldino for sprucing up the mix before the shoot.

Thanks, Tom!

Synthwerks PGM-4x4 Programmer/Sequencer/Controller Eurorack Synthesizer Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The PGM-4X4 is a multi-functional module that performs two different tasks. The main function is that of a programmer. Four columns of four separate control voltages can be individually chosen via the manual push-button or external gate inputs under each column. There is also an internal bus that allows direct normalized connection to the 4 gate outs of a separateFSR-4 (FSR-4 or FSR-4C family). The CV output range is selectable via internal jumpers to be either 0V to +5V or 0V to +10V (approximately) so that some rows can be set to be better suited for controlling more voltage sensitive destinations (such as the pitch of VCOs).

When all four push-buttons are held for a couple of seconds, the PGM-4X4 converts into sequencer mode. In this mode the four column gate inputs and manual pushbuttons switch to sequencer duty. Their functions are shown on the front panel in parenthesis. These are the classic Clock in, Reset in, Run/Stop, and Manual Step controls found on most sequencers.

The PGM-4X4 can be chained to another PGM-4X4 to create a 4×8 programmer or a 4×8 sequencer. PGM-4x4s can also be stacked to add as many row outs as you have room in your cabinets, allowing such things as a 4 column by 12 row programmer or a 8 step by 8 row (or more) sequencer."

SYNTHWERKS FSR-4C/B QUAD FORCE SENSORS EURORACK MODULE

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"FSR-4C/B

The FSR-4C/B is the first in an upcoming series of FSR combo modules based on the Force Sensing Resistor Controler Core, the FSR-4C. In the FSR-4C/B combo module, this core is paired with the FSR-4B Large Format Sensor array. This provides a larger playing surface that is more confortable for some to use. With the use of rubber pad overlays, the FSR-4B can also be played with drumsticks and other objects.

Specification:-

Current Consumption: 90 mA
Panel size FSR-4C: 16HP
Panel size FSR-4B: 21HP

Superb little controllers that can send trigger events or cv force events. Absolute bargain. Bought from Postmodular earlier this year.

This video gives a hint of what it can be used for: http://youtu.be/kx3VBDl557s"
