"The ProTone is a true analog synth from the mid-nineties for the modern MIDI studio. It is monophonic and features two analog oscillators, a beefy resonant filter, flexible LFO, MIDI and CV/Gate control, and a simple intuitive hands-on layout with every control parameter accessible from the front panel knobs and switches.

Each oscillator features saw and pulse waveforms with independent waveform selection, tuning and level. White Noise is also available from VCO1. The oscillators can be sync'd and Ring Modulation can also be dialed in. The filter section allows for either high or low pass filtering and 12 or 24 dB/oct slopes with the usual cutoff and resonance knobs. A fairly standard ADSR envelope can be applied to the voltage-controlled amp, but there's only a decay envelope (Accent) for the filter. The LFO is quite flexible, with six wave shapes plus random, noise or external input. The LFO can be set to modulate VCO1, VCO2, Pulse-Width on VCO1, filter cutoff and panning. A few remaining controls include a Panner, and Slide (portamento) effect.

The ProTone features MIDI I/O and traditional CV/Gate I/O for use with vintage gear. A little too much like vintage gear, however, the Pro Tone does not have on-board program memory. But with such a basic synth architecture and no hidden menus or parameters, the ProTone is a hands-on tweaker's synth - full of fat analog bass and synth sounds with a squelchy filter and competent LFO. Additional features include external VCO and LFO inputs, MIDI controlled volume and frequency cutoff, velocity sensitivity, and stereo outputs. The ProTone makes a cost effective, reliable and unique alternative to many other older vintage dual-VCO analog mono-synths."

The ProTone is an analog synthesizer with the ability to generate a wide range of sounds, from fat classic analog tones to exciting FX sounds.
The modulation system is incredibly unique and powerful, allowing for up to five modulation destinations to be set simultaneously.
The LFO waveforms feature six standard shapes, random, noise and external input as an LFO.
It's quite fascinating that it features an external input LFO and PAN.
You can create sounds that move fluidly between the left and right channels.
In the VCO2 section, you can use external input as a VCO.
This means you can use this unique modulation system as an effect processor and even combine it with VCO1.
The ProTone supports CV/Gate control as well.
CV/Gate can be switched between input and output modes using the internal jumper settings.
This unit is compatible with both 115V and 230V.
Currently, the voltage selector is set to 115V, and it is located inside the unit."

It's a very dynamic 3 osc synth, does standard vintage analog sounds along with some really tight FM stuff. Snappy envelopes and nice saturation at different points (mixer and output). "Hello! Today's video features the Moog Subharmonicon and Mother 32 with some experimental granular effects. Spectral Dronemaker is taking the input from the Mother 32 and turning into a long stretched out drone sound (granular synthesis). A copy of the waveform is layered with the original, and near the end of the track the Dronemaker layer becomes dominant. Valhalla Shimmer provides the rich and lush reverb creating a beautiful spacial atmosphere.

"Great Swiss made, rack-mountable monophonic analog synthesizer. It is a true analog beast, no DCOs here!

- Two Oscillators a ring modulator and distortion/fuzz.
- The LFO can be switched to audio range, so it can function as a third (or sub) oscillator.
- The synth has MIDI IN-OUT-THRU
- CV controlinput - which is switchable to CV-in or CV-out.
- There is an audio input to process other sounds through the filter, distortion... you can mix the external source with oscillator 1 and modulate everything with LFO.

It was made at a time when everything wanted to sound like the Roland TB-303 and MOOG. So this Swiss-made mutant beast goes also into Moog territory - it is much more than just a TB-303 emulator.
Remember to let it heat up to operating temperature - it takes 30 to 40 minutes in winter - but you wont regret it."
