"Perfect Circuit asked me if I'd like to take part in their 'artist picks' gear of the year video for the end of 2023. I said yes, while pondering what gear has brought me joy and lots of nice music making this year ... that bit of gear was the Intellijel Cascadia, which I love coupling with FX but for this particular bit of music making I went with the T Rex Replicator Junior.

A joyous, feature packed and versatile synthesizer and a wonder of lo fi tape delay, a great pairing! So I made the video for Perfect Circuit, made some music, made a patch breakdown and also made a PDF Patchbook outlining all sorts about the patch, alternative gear, mastering electronic music and more. NAMM 2023 - T-Rex Effects - Binson Echorec

"At NAMM 2023, Sonic State had the opportunity to speak with Lars Dahl, who showcased the T-Rex Effects recreation of the iconic Benson Echorec. The T-Rex Benson Echorec is an exact replica of the original Benson Echorec, but with the addition of an extra record head, allowing for longer delay times. The device also features a Magic Eye display, which illuminates when the delay feedback reaches maximum level.

The T-Rex Benson Echorec has a speed control that can be manipulated by an expression pedal and four playback heads, each with adjustable volume, and a bypass switch. The device's hard magnetic drum is made of stainless steel, which gives it a unique sound.

"T-Rex pedals has recently produced their famous Replicator tape delay pedal in the Eurorack format. This module is an actual tape player and recorder, with a fedback signal path to allow for multiple delays. It has controls for delay length, level, and feedback, as well as saturation and chorus (tape wobble). CV inputs are avaialble for the Feedback CV as well as Delay Time CV.
