"Great sounding but obscure discontinued item similar to the Creamware desktop synths...it is a hardware device that runs off software editor which turns it into a great sounding hardware powered synth with MIDI in and analog audio outputs, which doesn't actually use your PC's processing power like a VST software synth....but it does use a software editor to access all the parameters and store presets...other than the ones on the front panel.

I got this many years ago and was supposed to set it up on a Win XP computer but it was around the time of switching to Windows 7 so I never got around to it. I do not have access to a XP computer now to check it out and it has been sitting unused for many years..."

Use-Audio Plugiator DSP Hardware Synth Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Use-Audio Plugiator DSP Hardware synth modules Virtual Circuit technology

Three plugins installed:
MiniMax(Minimoog emulator)2.0
B4000(Hammond emulator) 2.0
The Lightwave2.0

The Minimax MiniMax is the highly acclaimed replica of the famous legend. Incredibly fat and responsive sound, intuitive control... tweaking its knobs is pure fun, a real performance synth!

The B4000The B4000 turns your keyboard into the Queen of Organs. The genuine sound of a real living electromechanical 400 pound monster. Lively, authentic, emotional...

The LightwaveWhile the oscillators of the LightWave are based on wavetables, the aftermath is virtual analog - giving you wide control of the sound. From complex pads to powerful leads, LightWave offers a vast range of sonic possibilities.
P.S. (of slot 101 (MiniMax) and slot 103 (Lightwave) does not light up the blue light lamp)"

Use | Audio Plugiator Virtual Analog Sound Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"There's a noise when the delay effect is turned on (other effects work fine). Apart from that it works great and the sounds are really awesome. I've been using this with an external effects processor, so the lack of delay hasn't been a problem.

The Plugiator is basically the Creamware Minimax (Minimoog), Pro 12 (Prophet 6), Prodyssey (Prodigy), B4000 (Hammond B3) and four more modules all in one unit. It's very easy to work and has a great favourite preset function using the 10 buttons along the bottom.

It's in fantastic condition. The only cosmetic thing I feel I should point out is that the metal is quite soft and there is a slight ripple at the top left hand corner, but it's barely noticeable."

Weird regarding the noise as the Plugiator is software based.

PLUGIATOR DSP Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is a RARE, hardware based virtual synth module, organ and vocoder.

Tried it for about 10 minutes. This synth module houses up to EIGHT keyboards in one hardware unit. It uses software to allow for deep programming of patches, and has fast favorite buttons to bring up a Minimoog lead patch, or a smoking Hammond B3 organ in an instant. With original box and manual.

What others say about the Plugiator:
“Plugiator is brilliant in more ways than I can adequately describe....
If you’re in the market for a new suite of synths and you thought that software instruments were the only economically viable way for you to expand your sound, think again. The synth world just became a much
more interesting place.” -- Future Music 06/2008, Jojo Buchanan
“Plugiator is a gem: There's serious cost-effectiveness, sound quality, ease of use, and low latency... with editing software to complete the package. (...) this unassuming little box delivers major bang for the buck.” -- Harmony Central 10/2008, Craig Anderton

“Seriously, this little gem is the digital answer to almost every one of your analog wet dreams. (....) straight up the “Plugiator” rocks! Value for money, you get way more than you pay for. It’s easy to use, portable, well built, looks good and sounds great. It’s every live keyboardist’s dream come true and studio composer’s new best friend.”
-- Australian Musician 09/2008, Jason McNamara

“The sounds themselves are amazing. They’re not just evocative of the originals, they come close to perfect emulations, the dedicated DSP hardware providing a level of realism that most nativesoftware models can’t touch without bringing even a strong computer to its knees from CPU overload.” -- Recording Magazine 02/2009, Mike Metlay

The Plugiator can store up to eight different DSP plug-ins and can load any one at a time at a push of a button. Each plug-in comes with 100 presets – allowing you to store up to 800 different sounds within that cute little box which the Plugiator is.

When connected to your computer via USB, the Plug-In Manager software (for Windows and OSX) lets you tweak each plug-in via its GUI and manage your presets which you want stored in the Plugiator box.

Another unique innovation is the elegant integration of an online sound database – which allows you to listen to new user-uploaded presets with just one click of your mouse!
No need to download and install sound banks: listen to new sounds from the internet; it just does not get more convenient than that.

The Plugiator would not be a Use Audio product if the operating panel wasn’t equally inviting: Eight encoder knobs allow you to tweak major sound parameters while playing, and the ten “quick pads” let you quickly store and recall your favorite plug-in/preset combinations – just as you need it when you perform live.

The Plugiator box provides MIDI In and Thru connections, USB, a microphone input, stereo line outs and a headphone output."
