New Jackyll Mini Synth

Published on Mar 23, 2018 ktozjadlciastka

"Short demo of Jackyll portable synth designed by me (ktozjadlciastka).

Highlights:
- squarewave core OSC1/2 with sync,
- OSC1 can work as LFO,
- VCF with 2 resonance settings (PT2399 based),
- delay with large amount of possible feedback (PT2399 based),
- build in microphone.

Power supply - 9 V battery.

Totoro synth prototype wiggling

Published on Feb 12, 2018 ktozjadlciastka

"This is not a demo. It is a recording from a debugging session of my new synth. Some sounds can be really nasty!

A few words about Totoro:
- 1x advanced generator: audio/LFO rates, square/saw/triangle waves, target - filter input or filter cutoff,
- 1x simple generator: audio rate squarewave, simple tuned keyboard with 3 buttons,
- 1x VCF - with 2 resonance settings and cutoff CV,
- generators balance control.

Device uses only 1 quad opamp and considering its simplicity, sounds great! More info avaliable soon @ syntherjack.net"

V829 Bass Drum synthesizer raw prototype demo

Published on Apr 24, 2017 ktozjadlciastka

"V829 Bass Drum core was inspired by Vox Percussion King BD circuit. You can easily get drum sounds similar to those form Kraftwerks Autobahn. The sound is very rich in higher harmonics, as the waveforms are very far form sine.

Features:
- unperfect, asymmetrical waveform,
- included high pass filter to expose mid range frequencies,
- diode limiter circuit - primarily to limit the amplitude of somehow unpredictible T-network in drums core, but can be used for distortion also,
- decay of the bass drum sound can be extended with longer trigger pulse - without retriggering!
- 100% analog, very simple build with standard components values.

Controls:
- PITCH,
- DECAY,
- CUTOFF frequency of the HP filter,
- LEVEL of the output signal,
- LIMITER on/off.

I/O signals:
- TRIGGER - over 1 ms (longer pulse doesn't cause retriggering), 1-10V,
- OUTPUT.

Power supply:
- +/- 12V,
- below 10 mA from each rail."

"Prodiż" DIY synth demo

Published on May 12, 2016 ktozjadlciastka

"'Prodiż' is a monophonic analog synthesizer inspired by Moog Prodigy build in Yamaha PSS-50 enclosure.

Features:
- 2 VCOs - VCO1 range 64' - 8', waveforms: saw, triangle, square, white noise, VCO2 range 32' - 4', waveforms: saw, triangle, pulse (with PWM, 15% - 50%),
- 1 suboscillator (square, -1 or -2 octave, down to 20 Hz),
- 1 LPF with overload circuit,
- 1 LFO (sguare, triangle),
- extended modulation options,
- V-trigger input,
- internal amplifier and speaker,
- can be battery operated (up to 5 hours)."

SnapClap DIY handclap synthesizer demo

Published on Apr 10, 2016 ktozjadlciastka

"This is a final version of my SnapClap synthesizer designed only for handclap sounds. This one is build in eurorack format module, 12HP width. The sound is made from CLAP part (series of pulses) and NOISE part (decaying white noise).

Controls:
- clap pitch (pot) - pitch of series of pulses,
- clap decay (pot) - density of pulses,
- clap variation (switch) - causes each pulse to have different lenght,
- noise pitch (pot) - cutoff frequency of BP filter, changes noise color,
- noise decay (pot) - noise envelope lenght,
- output level (pot),
- sensivity (pot) - of the sound triggering input,
- autotrigger speed (pot),
- autotrigger on/off (pot),
- humanizer on/off (switch).

Inputs / outputs:
- "synth" trigger input - for standars 10 ms pulse,
- "sound" trigger input - connected witch sensivity control, lets you trigger claps with any source,
- line output.

Power supply:
- max. 50 mA @ +12 V,
- max. 10 mA @ -12 V,
- works well with +/- 15 V.

PCB:
- double sided,
- 100 x 80 mm,
- no very rare parts."
