Atlanta Synthesizer Club "Meat" Meet at Georgia Tech's Under The Couch Sunday April 9th

"There will be a lot socializing, gear spotting, short performances and a raffle that includes significant gear from companies like Moog (Mother 32), Roland (TB-03 signed by DJ Pierre), Malekko (Voltage Block), Synthesis Technology (E330 VCO), DSI/Sequential (poster signed by Tom Oberheim and Dave Smith) and a slew of other donated DIY kits, studio time, stickers, records and other swag.

The response of the local community as well as the manufacturers have been well. Round expectations.

The Atlanta Synthesizer Club is dedicated to all things synth of the software and hardware variety, drum machines, effects, sound design and electronic music in and around Atlanta and the Southeastern US corridor. Our goal is to foster a community and be a resource for musicians, artists and individuals interested in the particulars of sound synthesis through an exchange of ideas, regular meetings, workshops and performances."

Location:

"::| IN ORDER TO HEAR THE WIDE RANGE OF FREQUENCIES, A GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |::

I finally got my small, two row Eurorack system sorted out with the modules I need in order to play out live more comfortably. My Birthday last week brought me the new Tiptop Audio Mantis case as well as the Erica Synths Wavetable VCO module (as well as a few of their Pico Series modules.) This is the first test using all of the modules in this [finally] complete system. Full list of modules used in this performance are as follows:

Think of how much we've seen since 2006: the resurgence of analog and modular, the birth of mobile apps, and the flourishing of boutique manufacturers and individual makers. No other site has covered as much over the years. If you appreciate the site, please consider supporting it.

Moog Memorymoog Plus SN 2558

"The pinnacle of analogue excess, the Memorymoog was released in the early 1980s to compete in the burgeoning polysynth market. This synth is MASSIVE, with three oscillators per voice, times six voices, often characterised as having six Minimoogs under the hood of one synth. This description is not entirely accurate, as this synth is built around CEM3340 oscillators, as opposed to discrete Moog components, but the industry defining Moog low pass is redolent and rich. This is a Plus version of the Memorymoog, adding an internal two track sequencer and MIDI functionality. This particular instrument, SN 2558, has been thoroughly serviced, including a replating of all the key contacts, a rebuilt power supply, and a complete recapping of the entire synth. The exterior of this synth may show its age, but the internals are reviewed, rebuilt, and prepared for many more years of service."
