ASTROGENIC HALLUCINAUTING experiments with tools of chaos - STEREO FIELD - BLIPPOO BOX - DOUBLE KNOT

an adventure with tools of chaos...

STEREO FIELD is one instrument with three uses. It is simultaneously a stereo/quad modular touch plate synthesizer, a stereo/quad audio processor and a pressure sensitive chaotic CV controller.

The Blippoo is a unconventional analogue synthesizer with a unique implementation of twin digital shift registers known as Runglers made by Rob Hordijk from The Hague in Holland.

Double Knot is an all analog synthesizer which is both sequencer and voice. It can be thought of as something of an indeterministic "groovebox". A stereo instrument with two identical voices that can give different rhythms, melodies or cross timbral slaps. The idea of this instrument is to invite reconciliation of linear and nonlinear systems, and to encourage the building of multiple-feedback synthesis architectures."

"Roland MC 202 in original box, plastic and packing, original Roland batteries (dead obviously), original data cassette, original manuals and cables .. Everything is new condition except as you can see, some indentations from cables on the front of the 202 .. The box is near perfect for being 34 years old . The 202 works flawlessly and will be overpacked when sent. It is NOT being sold with a power adapter or working batteries."

It's 40 Years Old!"

A few issues with this one:

"1. The F# and A# keys in the top octave of the keyboard are intermittent (the ones with dimes on them in the pics). They work, but you have to sometimes depress them a few times before they come back to life. This is a fairly common problem with any keyboard that uses a Panasonic keyboard (Memorymoog, OB8, Polysix, Matrix-12 etc...). For me it hasn't been an issue because I use my OB8 like a sound module via MIDI, using a master keyboard controller. But if you want to use the keyboard, these keys need their contacts cleaned.

2. There are four buttons on the front panel called 'group' buttons: A, B, C, & D. These let you select which bank of programs you want to play. The C and D buttons also need cleaning. They do work, but like the keys mentioned above, you sometimes have to tap on them a few times to get them to light up and work. But they do light up and work. One of the pics shows all four lit so you can see for yourself.

3. The number 5 program button is also a little fussy, but it definitely works. It has the same personality disorder as the others mentioned above. It needs to be cleaned.

(And by the way, There is a guy on YouTube that goes by the name of "sounddoctorin" who sells replacement contact strips for the OB8 keys)."

Planar Workout

Update: looks like this one got pulled. I will let you know if it goes back up.

"Here's a more noisy patch controlled by the Planar. In this case it's acting both as a mixer and a CV offset. It is mixing the direct outputs of the oscillator outputs with signals mangled by µFold and µMod. Planar is using the X and Y outputs to speed up Quadra's attack and release values, and open up modulation signals through Quadra VCA. Of course there's also a touch of reverb from Springray."

Kosmic Krell

Published on May 16, 2017 intellijel

"In this video we have created a short piece inspired by the Krell patch, a type of self generating music that takes its name from the music of the alien race featured in Forbidden Planet. The Krell patch uses random sources to generate melodies and gates, with higher notes using faster envelopes creating quick trills and slower bass swells.

In this case we are using a µScale to quantize the random notes into a Harmonic Minor scale. Delay and pitch shifting is being applied by Rainmaker, sidechain compression of every third step by Jellysquasher, and reverb from Springray.
Enjoy!

Novation Circuit / Monomachine / Bass Station 2 - Live Show Footage! Nashville TN

"'A live performance of a semi- synthwave kind of track by Robots Against Children. Recorded at Cafe Coco, Nashville TN. February 11th, 2017'

Hello friends,

Here is some footage and audio from a gig I did this winter here in Nashville. I set up cameras in order to capture the entire 35+ minute performance but of course, in classic Matt Greer fashion, I forgot to start recording the audio until half way through the second to last song. DOH! Oh well.

So, at any rate, this is what was left over. I hope you enjoy it.

gear used:
- Novation Circuit
- Elektron Monomachine
- Novation Bass Station 2
- TC Electronics Flashback x4 Delay
- TC Electronics Hall of Fame Reverb
- Samson MDR 1688 Mixer
- GoPro Cameras
- Tascam DR-05 to record audio

Shout out to my buddies Moo & Steve for taking the video."
