this is my definition of the minimalism".

ARP QUADRA Analog Synthesizer (1978) 4 Elements

ARP QUADRA - Analog Synthesizer 1978

all sounds: ARP QUADRA Analog synthesizer from the year 1978
recording: multi-tracking without midi
fx: Electro Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe

I used all four synth sections (analog strings and phase shifter, poly-synth, bass-synth, lead-synth), all played live by hand, no midi

The Quadra is a four-section synthesizer consisting of a bass-synth (monophonic), poly-synth (full polyphonic), lead-synth (duophonic), and Solina like analog strings (full polyphonic)
The synth has included a awesome 12 stage phase shifter, dual portamento controls and a fantastic arpeggiator."

Prototypowe Dźwięki | Prototype Sounds vol. 2 - splits & layers

Published on Jun 28, 2017 adamstan84

See the adamstan label at the bottom of this post for more.

"Next - hopefully final - prototype of my analog polyphonic synthesizer. New features in this version are 8 voices, bitimbrality and stereo output from each voicecard, with independent panning circuits.

2xVCO (with sync and PWM), Ringmod, FM (VCO A/noise to VCF / VCO B), 3xADSR, 3xLFO, multimode VCF 12dB/oct. - LPF/HPF/BPF

Table of contents (numbers in parentheses indicate voice allocation between layers):
00:03 Autotune - takes approx. 15 seconds
00:21 Split: Unison bass + Strings (4+4)
01:02 Organ (8)
01:24 Split: Pad + brass (4+4)
02:05 VCF used as sine oscillator with keyboard tracking (8). Filters don't have temperature compensation so they will drift, however, given some time to warm up they keep pretty well
02:29 Brass (8)
02:50 Layer: Pad + ringmod bells (4+4)
03:21 Split: Bass + comp (1+7)
04:19 Split: Pad + lead (7+1)
05:14 some filter tweaking - playing with resonance, envelope depth and switching between different modes
07:00 Stereo spread adjustment"

Marek Biliński - Fontanna radości (cover)

Published on Sep 24, 2009 adamstan84

"Cover nagrany jako utwór demonstracyjny dla zbudowanego przeze mnie w ramach pracy dyplomowej syntezatora analogowego widocznego na filmie. || Recorded as demo track for my DIY analogue polysynth shown on video. Don't know why, but I can't post replies to comments. http://electro-music.com/forum/viewto... - here I've written something more about this synthesizer (there are schematics and source codes). In short - analogue circuits are common designs taken from various sources, digital control circuitry is my design."

"After almost 2 years of work, I've finished my DIY polysynth Very Happy Very Happy It is based on various module designs available on the net.
I consider it to be a "Poor mans Memorymoog" with a little bit of Prophet 5 thrown in Wink. It features:
- 5 voices
- 2xVCO per voice
- 3xEG per voice (hardwired to pitch, cutoff and volume)
- 3xLFO (pitch, cutoff and PWM)
- Moog ladder VCF
- Noise source
- Ring Modulator
- Patch memory (128 user patches)
- MIDI
- Mono mode with selectable note priority (High/Low) and triggering (single/multi) and with portamento
- unison with adjustable detuning
VCO A offers sawtooth, square and triangle. VCO B offers sawtooth and square waves. Having triangle wave available is essential if you want to obtain some nice fm-like sounds from RingMod.

It's built using only standard off-the-shelf components - no CEM or SSM or similar chips inside - only typical opamps, switches, transistors etc.

Case (together with keyboard) was salvaged from some crappy 70's combo organ."

EDD-5 / analogue drum synthesizer demo

Analogowy moduł perkusyjny EDD-5 / analogue drum synthesizer - demo 2 - exploring kick and snare

Published on Apr 2, 2016 adamstan84

"EDD-5 - analogue drum synthesizer from Poland. Triggered by individual audio outputs from Vermona DRM. Playing with kick and snare sounds. Starting from something TR-like, and then morphing it into a sound that reminds me of Yamaha RX drum machines. There is a little bit of reverb used.

Cymbals are from Vermona.

@2:36 - unfortunately arpeggiator fell out of sync for a moment when switching patterns, so the bass line is off by a 8th note."

EKO COMPUTERHYTHM

Published on Mar 27, 2015 Scienceforce

"Ultra rare EKO COMPUTERHYTHM drum Machine, produced in very few exemplars, about 15 or 20 ever made.
It was used in some famous J-M Jarre songs as 'OXIGENE' and performances, this unit in in Near Mint conditions with an unique very special programming interface, individual outputs. It can read some exclusive punch cards in order to make some drum sequences as presets.. Awesome gear!"

Instant disco - layering Solton Programmer 24 with Vermona DRM

Published on Dec 6, 2015 adamstan84

"First you hear dry drums from Programmer 24, next is dry Vermona, then both are layered. After that the reverb is added, and then arpeggiator, bass and strings are switched on.

Vermona drums are quite heavilly compressed."
