Xaoc Devices DREZNO & LIPSK

Published on May 25, 2017 Xaoc Devices

"Drezno and Lipsk are the first in series of modules which constitute The Leibniz Binary Subsystem, a group of 8-bit signal processing devices offering comprehensive digital signal manipulation, as well as audio signal, control voltage, trigger, and gate generation. Drezno is the input/output front-end of the system, consisting of an analog–to–digital converter (ADC) and a digital–to–analog converter (DAC), that alone can be used for manipulating analog signals and voltages based on their binary representation. For detailed description, please refer to the manual on xaocdevices.com."

New Erica Synths Black Dual VCF & Black Output v2 & Pico Trigger to Gate Eurorack Modules

Note the Dual VCF was first announced here with a demo video. The following is the official press release.

"Erica Black VCF is dual multimode filter with CV control over cutoff and resonance for serious modular patches. The core of the VCF is highly stable, custom multimode VCF chip AS3320. It can be used as two independent VCFs with simultaneous HP, BP and LP outputs, controls can be linked for stereo application and both VCFs can be chained in series or parallel to the summing output for ultimate modulations. Bonus feature – 16 band spectrum analyser – gives visual feedback on what happens on summing output.

Main features for Black Dual VCF
• Two identical multimode VCFs
• Simultaneous HP, BP and LP outputs
• Summing output
• CV control over Cutoff and Resonance
• CV level attenuverters
• Link switch for controlling both VCFs with one cutoff or resonance knob
• 16 band spectrum analyser
• Skiff-friendly design

Price: 350€ (VAT ex.)"

The Erica Black Output Module v2 is a high quality output mixer and stereo panner with balanced outputs and headphone amplifier for monitoring your modular masterpieces. All inputs are buffered, we use stereo potentiometers (found in high quality studio mixers) for panning, IN4 is stereo input with simultaneous level adjustment for both channels, IN3 has a CV controlled autopan function.

Price: 260€ (VAT ex.)

Erica Pico Trigger to Gate module is one of few modules around that converts triggers to gates using smart algorithms that enhance your musical compositions and rhythm patterns. The module can turn a simple trigger sequencer into powerful musical pattern generator. The module was created inspired by Ryoji Ikeda compositions.

Main features for Pico T→G:
• Manually and CV controlled gate length
• Manually and CV controlled gate skipping probability
• Triggered and Independent modes
• Incoming trigger in and output gate control LEDs

Price: 90€ (VAT ex.)

New Squarp Instruments Hermod Eurorack Sequencer in the Works

Squarp of course released the Pyramid desktop sequencer. I'm guuessing this makes use of that tech and ports it to the eurorack format. You can find a video below.

You can see the following:

Master control knob.
Screen displaying Note for 8 parts.
Step, Effects, Track Seq buttons.
An X button with length, voices, and song categories.
A Y button with zoom, settings, and run mode categories.
Eight buttons likely corresponding to the 8 CV and Gate outs.
What appears to be four CV inputs labeled A, B, C, and D.
Midi In and Out, USB Host and USB Device ports.

Roland JUPITER-8 vs SYSTEM-8 - "Momenti" by gattobus

Published on Oct 11, 2017 gattobus

"A little improvisation with the mighty beast of synthesizers, Roland JUPITER-8 and its modern counterpart SYSTEM-8 (in JP-8 mode).
Well, I think they blend together perfectly, I love them both!!!
I was very excited when I shot this video, so my performance is not perfect, sorry :P
I hope you like it :-)"

analogue synthesizer demo 5

Published on Oct 11, 2017 Synthe_64

"This is my fifth demo. I added some percussion. The basic percussion comes from the RMIF Elsita analogue drumsynthesiser. Extra percussion accents are produced by the Pittsburgh modular with the use of a Doepfer Random voltage generator. The sequencer line is done by the Moog Minimoog in combination with the Doepfer Dark Time. Other synths are the Korg Polysix, Roland VP330 plus-MKI, the Multivox MX-2000, the Doepfer Dark Energy MKI and the Korg Monotribe.
Mixing and FX is done by two Behringer mixers, an Alesis Microverb 3 and an EHX Small Stone phaser. The used mike for the vocoder is a Shure PG57.
I don't use midi. No prerecording used."
