Mutable Instruments Plaits [Episode 102]

Published on Jan 10, 2019 CatSynth TV

"We demonstrate many of the features of the Plaits from Mutable Instruments. The Plaits is a "macro-oscillator" with 16 different synthesizer models (accessible from the front panel via two banks), with three degrees of freedom in each model. There is also an LPG, which is not explored in this video.

More information on the Plaits can be found here:
https://mutable-instruments.net/modul...

It was also used extensively in our video "Episode 99", so please check that out as well. [posted here]

This demo focuses on the noisy and inharmonic models in the right (red) bank.
1. Granular Cloud
2. Filtered Noise
3. Particle Noise
4. Rings: Plucked String Model
5. Rings: Modal Synthesis Model
6. Analog Bass Drum
7. Analog Snare Drum
8. Analog Hi-hat

In addition, we have some fun with the speech-synthesis model from the Left (Green) Bank.

Finally, we demonstrate how to dynamically switch models from external CV input.
