Creepin' around
video upload by MIDI IN
"A creepy tune for a dark and cold January Sunday evening.
As you can see, I've worked within 6 channels with MIDISID as an external instrument so that all of the audio can be captured from the back of MIDISID in one take.
I sat down last night with no ideas but after a little messing around we were almost at this stage. A little more tweaking today."

BPB 64 - FREE Commodore 64 Virtual Instrument
video upload by Bedroom Producers Blog
"BPB 64 is a freeware virtual instrument by Bedroom Producers Blog. It uses multi-samples to recreate the sound of the Commodore 64 home computer.
https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2022...
BPB 64 includes 30 presets, covering bass sounds, pads, leads, and the inevitable fast-paced arpeggios that make the SID chip so legendary. All sounds were captured raw, directly from the SID chip, so you're getting the same infamous grit and lo-fi crunch that you'd get if you hooked up a C64 directly to your audio interface."

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #128: SammichSID - Song 1
video upload by Christian's Sonic Spaces
"This is the first song with the SammichSID. It was designed to be a streamlined, compact version of the MIDIbox SID synthesizer DIY kit. Designed around two SID chips, it is two-voice multitimbral with a total of six oscillators.
I used for the recording the following FX chain:
SammichSID - Zoom MS-70CDR - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated
The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC via USB for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track."

Out of Order ( M8 & C64 & OMX-27 )
video upload by Avrilcadabra
"Some sounds from the past with help from the future.
This track, I wanted to make my own breakbeat from scratch and resample it, stretch it etc to make it sound old and brutal. I also sampled some pinball sounds, slowed down pinball flippers etc, lot of sample manipulation going on with the M8. The weird arps and stuff are mostly from the M8, couple from the c64. I sampled the c64 into the m8.
Hope you enjoy the artistic flair of the video for some old school aesthetic.

No more time ( from CF5 set )
video upload by Avrilcadabra
"A chiptune track of mine I played at clownfest 5.
I had made this pattern some years ago and I eventually made it to a full track which I played on my CF5 set. It is made entirely of commodore 64 samples and single cycle waveforms.
I had since remade this on the M8 but using it's synth engines and it's good but I prefer the c64 samples used here.
I'll be doing another set for CF7 this December
Gear used.

More than meets the eye // Modbap OSIRIS // review and walkthrough
video upload by Starsky Carr
"Here's my review demo and walkthrough of the Modbap Osiris. Its a really flexibly and interesting digital oscillator that's described as bi-fidelity. It has a 32x32 matrix of waveforms they call a wavepak. Very cool, plus a sub with independent tuning and timbre modes for tonnes of variation: sync, dual oscillators, FM, wave shaping etc, On top of that it has subtle to complete decimation with the fidelity knob.. inspired by the Commodore 64 :)"

DSP: Commodore303 - Sound Pack for Octatrack, Polyend Tracker, Digitakt, Ableton Live & Analog Rytm
video upload by MrDataline
"Download at: https://dataline.bandcamp.com/album/d...
This Dataline Sound Pack (DSP) features 128 Acidic BassLine Loops + 16 Classic Drum Samples. These 'Acidic BassLine' patterns were crafted on the Mssiah Bassline, a 303 Clone app for the Commodore64. Then sampled via the Octatrack. Each BassLine loop is 4 bars, with altered filter modulation for each bar.
To celebrate these samples, I have made exclusive patterns to some good old machines - which are featured in the audio & video examples and bundled with the DSP: Commodore303!
DSP: Commodore303 includes,
- Royalty Free 128 Bassline loops + 16 Drum Samples at 24Bit 44.1Khz
- Ableton Project + 8 Pattern Projects for Polyend Tracker, Digitakt, Analog Rytm & Octatrack. These projects come along with premade Patterns, Kits, Scenes and Performance modes.
- Last but not least: Source Files for the Mssiah Bassline patterns. If you happen to have a working C64 and a Mssiah cartridge, you can load up 64 patterns used in this DSP creation!
Enjoy!"

Fairlight Intro Cover on the Commodore Music Maker Deluxe
video by MrCaliforniaD
"In this video, I've re-recorded the famous hack intro from Fairlight.
I tried to edit the Commodore 64 patches as close as I could to the original.
I used a C64c with a 6581 R4-AR."

MB-6582 midibox sid - C64 - Enigma Force cover
X1L3
"The theme from the sequel of Shadowfire recreated with the MB6582, a Boss DR550 mk2 and some supersaws to pad it out a bit.
Staying quite faithful to the original with all the modulated PWM stuff from the MB6582.
Another shout out to Fred Gray - the composer of the original C64 version.
Cheers to:

For hosting the scans that i used here :)
A fun one to do. The tune is great, and making the little comic strip recreation of the crashed shuttle opening screen bought a smile to my face :)"

MB-6582 midibox sid - C64 - Shadowfire cover
X1L3
"Messing around with the MB6582 midibox sid (with a bit of help from a supersaw to fatten up the lead melody)...
Shadowfire. I LOVE this tune. It's got a kind of epic scifi story feel to it. True childhood escapism at the time when i was really into it. I found it quite hard to recreate, but keeping close to the 8bit version i think it ended up sounding pretty cool and quite faithful to the original.
Cheers to:
http://www.c64sets.com/index.html
For the great selection of box set art and inlays which i looked up to use in the video.
http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid.html
For making the fact that an MB-6582 exists a reality and something i was eventually able to build :)
Shout out to Fred Gray - the composer of the original C64 version."

Elektron Sidstation Ninja Edition Rare - Only 50 made
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"Amazing limited edition synth.
The Sidstation is the guts of a Commodore 64 with an analog filter and custom software to bring out the power of the original, NOS chipset. Three syncable oscillators produce 8bit waveforms, with wavetables, ring modulation etc. Can make classic video game tones, but can do much more - has a much more raw and powerful sound than a standard analog synth."

Steinberg Pro16 sequencer from '86 | Grandmother of Cubase
Espen Kraft
"From 1984 to 1986 Steinberg (Research) developed a sequencer for the Commodore 64, a sequencer that would be known as the Pro16. Which in turn evolved into the well known Pro24 for the Atari ST platform a couple of years later, which in turn saw the birth of Cubase, the mother of all Cubase versions we have now.
Steinberg also built their own MIDI interface cartridge for the C64.
The Pro16 is very rudimentary by today's standards, but still a very fast, easy and fun program to use to flesh out ideas for new songs.
Huge thanks to Chris Wareham for the donation of both the program and MIDI interface for the C64!
The program itself can be found online and run from a floppy emulator for the C64."

C64 Is Your Friend
Published on May 30, 2020 synthjunk
"This is the title track from my latest EP. I created a fun video to go with it. All the sounds were made using a commodore 64 computer.
The Background clips are from the excellent youtube channel called "Chroma Key Backgrounds" (free use). The EP is available on Bandcamp, Spotify and other streaming sites.
Hope this brings some enjoyment."
