Debut LP Magazine was a zine from 1984 that featured an LP showcasing various artists. You can find the list of them on Discogs here. This was the UK version. There was a German version before it. They are great look back in time.

"Two oscillators per voice - a total of 12 oscillators. 6 analog filters 24dB/oct. It has the same chips (CEM 3396) as the Oberheim Matrix 6 and the Oberheim Matrix 1000, but it is multi-timbral!!! Programming is possible from the front panel, as well as via MIDI editors."

"hi. this is just a quick demo i've made with my first programmed patches. everything except drums comes from Cheetah MS6. it's a great synth similar to Oberheim Matrix 1000 however more flexible thanks to 6 part multitimbral. i'll try to make some other demos to show you some more capabilities of this great and somewhat underrated babe. recorded on multitrack Roland VS-880 with some space echo emulation added plus my DIY spring reverb. then mastered on 1/4" tape Maxell UD. hope you'll enjoy it."

"6 voice multi timbral CHEETAH MS6 synth rack in EXCELLENT condition. This is an awesome and rare alternative to all the Junos with 6 polyphonic voices and AFTERTOUCH which makes it way more expressive and fun.
I recently purchased the latest firmware upgrade and extra voice chips from maaad.net only to find out that it has already been installed by the shop that I purchased it from. (TURNLAB.be) I will include the extra parts..."

"These are rather rare. Similar to the Oberheim Matrix1000 the MS-6 differs in sound and function quite a bit. 6 part multi timbrel means you can make it perform 6 different mono synths much like the Sequential SixTrak. Cheetah synthesizers recently got a light shed on them thanks to Aphex Twin in a recent album entitled 'Cheetah'. [note that synth was Cheetah's MS800]
This synth was recently serviced, nee internal battery, new MAAD firmware installed (google search it and you’ll find the page with upgrade info) which drastically expands its CC controllability for easier editing and fixes some known bugs.
Like most of the cheetah rack synths they suffered from poor paint quality and has a little bit of rust here and there. Doesn’t effect the synths performance/functionality."

Note the listing states, "Aphex Twin made a whole record with this monster (not this exact unit, of course), which has the much-prized Curtis analog oscillator voice and filter chips."

"Cheetah MS6 Multitimbral Analog Synthesizer Module, produced in UK in the '80s. It's famous for having the same sound chips (CEM 3396) as the Oberheim Matrix 6/6R and Matrix 1000, but with multitimbral feature.
The unit has just been restored with new capacitors and internal battery replaced, and is in fully working condition. No noticeable scratch noise or bad contacts on the buttons and switches."

"The MS6 is a full-featured analog synthesizer with 12 DCO's with PWM, noise, sync and 6 voice Multitimbral.
There are 6 analog 24dB/oct Curtis filters which are warm and resonant! (CEM 3396). This includes latest firmware V1.3 from MAAD.
I have been fully controlling this Cheetah with a Beatstep Pro and Cirklon. This Cheetah MS6 was from the first production run (serial 1169) and has a slight hum when powered on which is normal for these. I have a letter from Cheetah (see pic) stating how to remedy this but I have never bothered as you can not hear it when a sound/patch is playing and barely noticeable when there is not. Again I can not stress this can not be heard when a sound/patch is playing. Includes Factory Sound Bank Disc and Printed Manual."
