Cre8audio East Beast Overlays by OVERSYNTH

"Whitephase" & "Blackphase" overlays for the Cre8Audio EastBeast.

"This is an aftermarket overlay that you place over the front panel faceplate of your Cre8audio East Beast synthesizer.

The overlay's artwork uses high contrast graphics and large fonts for easy viewing in low light.

To install the overlay, simply remove all the front panel knobs from your synthesizer, then remove the backing from the included adhesive tabs on the underside of the overlay. Place the overlay over your synthesizer and press down to make sure the adhesive is holding. The adhesive is low-tack to allow for easy removel. Next, re-install all of the knobs.

The overlay is printed on a highly durable, waterproof, and 100% recyclable polyester sheet (not vinyl, fiber, or plant-based). The matte finish is designed to minimize reflections from ambient light for maximum readability.

If the overlay becomes dirty, we recommend gently wiping it down with a soft cloth that is dry or slightly moistened with water. We do not recommend cleaning the overlay with isopropyl alcohol as this may damage the artwork. Based on our testing, the following substances will severely damage the artwork if left on the surface for an extended period of time: tea tree oil, acetone, nail polish remover, bleach, household cleaners, and hand sanitizer.

Our products are custom manufactured in small batches based on customer demand.

"We're looking at a pair of desktop synths (also mountable in Eurorack) from Cre8Audio - as in previous releases, these are made in collaboration with Richard Nicol from Pittsburgh Modular - he knows how to make great sounding Oscillators, Filters and Wave folders, in fact the core technology of the East Beast (subtractive single VCO synth voice) comes from the VCO, VCF and VCA of the SV-1 Blackbox - which we think sounds pretty fine. The West Pest however has the VCO, Wavefolder and Dynamics from the highly prized Voltage Research Laboratory System - with a rich Wavefolder and resonant Low Pass Gate for a more West Coast sound."

In this video I try to show you how to make the best of Lemondrop from @1010music and West Pest from @Cre8audio. I send the audio and midi from West Pest through Lemondrop, and it gets very complex sonically without sacrificing simplicity for the musician. I think the combination shines!
IMHO, they make possible a complex sonic world that would have appealed to Don Buchla, the inventor of the so-called West Coast synthesis.

I really enjoyed making this video and my hope is that you will enjoy it, too!

East Beast’s oscillator, designed in partnership with the too serious for words people from Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers, is a part of their 5th generation of analog oscillators stemming from a super-serious 10 years of continued research into analog oscillator development.

Cre8audio’s super serious friends at Pittsbugh Modular Synthesizers are just as serious about filters as they are about oscillators. East Beast’s filter is a multi-mode filter, meaning it can be used as a low pass filter, high pass filter, bandpass filter, or a combination of the three for an even wider sonic palate.

'The West Coast folks couldn’t be like everyone else. They had to go all yoga mat, kale smoothie, and alfalfa sprout on the synth world. West Coast style is typically characterized by additive derived, rich and complex sounds. Often more traditional user interface elements are replaced by the abstract and experimental. Perfect for you sophisticated folks.

All that said, West Pest is actually not a deep dive into the abstract. It provides a wide array of sonic capabilities while maintaining a quick and easy workflow. You’ll make fresh & inspiring sounds in a flash without having to think about kale smoothies, unless that’s your thing, in that case, yes tons of kale smoothies, pitchers full of them. Anyway, West Pest’s huge sonic capabilities emanate from its modest bento box-sized (sprout-free) exterior.

If eurorack is your thing, feel free to pop West Pest out of its enclosure and transform it right into a 40HP eurorack module, or keep it in its case and use it anywhere for your West Coast style pleasure.'
