"This vintage Prophet-600 is fully functional and in very good condition. This model has been recently serviced and comes with a GliGli Modification and Teensy++.

The Prophet-600 is a 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with a 5-octave, 61-note (C-C) keyboard. Each voice consists of two VCOs, two VCFs, and two VCAs. Each of these components has its own independent ADSR envelope with an LFO that can modulate both oscillators at the same time, the filter frequency, and the pulse width on the oscillator. The Prophet-600 has mono mode with chord memory as well as two one-track sequencers and an arpeggiator. The sequencers are programmed in real-time and cannot be edited. The arpeggiator can be set to the normal up or down modes or can cycle through the keys in the order that they were played.

The GliGli modification adds:

Increased resolution for sound parameters

New LFO function generator with a wider range
Dedicated vibrato
Unison detune
Mix Overdrive

"So yes, it seems to work great with the original Z80 CPU, but it behaves a little strangely with the mod installed. Basically, with GliGli, oscillator pitch seems slightly erratic and janky. Sounds a little like random/noise modulation. Sometimes you can hear it on the first note you play, sometimes you can't hear it until you have played all six notes. Even weirder, this issue also goes away a bit when pitch bend is not perfectly centered. I think a multiplexer IC on the front panel PCB might be causing these problems, but since It doesn't have this issue when it's stock, I'm not so sure. I haven't messed with it. I'm including a couple replacements just in case.

I bought my GliGli mod from a pro builder on Reverb, so I don't think it was assembled/soldered together wrong. I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly as well! I'm stumped.

This synth also had a slight whine in the signal path when I first got it, but after I installed GliGli it went away and never came back, even after I reinstalled the original CPU this evening. Even when it was present, it wasn't too noticeable. (Hopefully it won't return!)

Cosmetics and other info:
This Prophet, serial number 5371, was built some time in mid-1984 and is in really beautiful cosmetic condition. A couple signs of use here and there but nothing very noticeable. Some of the lower black keys are a little dull-looking compared to the rest. Two front rubber feet were missing so I replaced them with adhesive ones. A GliGli "cheat sheet" from Synthgraphics is also now on the front panel.

All keys work!! Battery seems to be holding patches fine as well.
If you haven't had a Prophet 600 before, be aware that (when it's stock) it takes several seconds to boot up and tune each voice. This is normal!"

"professionally gligli modded. All switches, knob, keys work, and were recelty cleaned and properly lubricated and feel great. Audio out is clean and strong. Has lower noisefloor than a bunch of modern gear. Small ding in one wooden ear but othwrwise in great cosmetic condition. All 6 voices work and keep tune. All membrane buttons are responsive. And the LED js bright and clear for its age. Everything appears to work as it should and patches sound great. Overall great condition."

"A great synth in full working order, has the Gligli mod which greatly enhances its capabilities. Included is the original Z80 chip (Mod is not soldered so it's easy to revert to factory) and a heavy duty padded road case.

All features and controls work as they should. Even the volume knob is clean and quiet, the noise floor is really low for a synth of this era. Membrane panel looks great, some wear on wooden cheeks. There is a small cigarette mark on one key and some psychopath wrote the names of the notes on the keys and subsequently *almost* removed them, but there are still faint marks. Both of those things were like that when I got the synth around 15 years ago, don't look at me. I used it only for recording and never moved it. I will try to include those details in pics as best I can. The important thing is the synth sounds perfect."
