"Up for auction is a ready-to-use PreenFM DIY synthesizer. It may look a little toy-like, but it's actually a rather powerful little poly synth with a very unique sound character. Like Yamaha's classic DX synths, the PreenFM uses FM synthesis, but it is not a DX clone. Instead, it has a pretty distinctive sound of its own.

Basic specs:
FM Synthesis with 9 different algorithms.
4 to 8 voice polyphony, depending on which algorithm is used.
Modulation sources: LFO, EGs, step sequencer.
Modulation matrix.
MIDI In and combined Out/Thru.
MIDI control over all sound parameters.

It has the latest firmware version 2.0 installed, which was developed in collaboration with French synth guru Olivier Gillet (aka Mutable Instruments). The unit is in good cosmetic condition. "The new firmware for my FM sound module kit "PreenFM" is out. I've added Midi Clock synchronization and a gate, so it allows to easily get sounds such as this attached one, by simply pressing keys on your keyboard (i play a bit with the Gate value in the first sound)... Drums sound come from Drumaxx VST."

PreenFM is a set of electronic components and C++ files that, when put together become a Frequency Modulation sound module.
