Synthesis Technology E370 With WORNG Soundstage

Published on Jul 10, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"All of the sounds in this video were generated with the Synthesis Technology E370 which is four VCOs in one. The E370 was processed with the WORNG Soundstage which places sounds within a virtual space by having different panning and filtering settings for each of its 21 inputs.

On the E370 each of the four oscillators have multiple mode options including wavetables, detuned cloud oscillators and FM operators. The Soundstage can be used as a basic and fast mixer or with some creative feedback patching can be used as an interesting resonating effect."

WORNG Electronics Soundstage // 3D stereo mixing + more in Eurorack

Published on Jun 27, 2019 DivKidVideo

"Now this is something I was genuinely very excited for when I first saw it announced. Having used and enjoyed both the LRMSMSLR and Vector Space from WORNG Electronics a new module in itself was excited, but Soundstage ... YES PLEASE, I'll have a bit of that! Morgan from WORNG talks about creating a 3D soundstage based on standard mixing techniques in terms of both stereo placement and frequency placement. It's a very powerful tool from a technical mixing point of a view and very creative one from an artistic approach. It's 21 inputs and 20 analogue filters with CV-able blend and depth control between the dry and wet (filtered "fully deep!") sound and you've also got a stereo VCA (prime target for animation, dynamics or audio rate AM synthesis!) on the output. It's all analogue so it clips pleasantly with a warm saturated clipping and with the finely tuned filters it will do nice musical feedback too. Lots of patches below, skip around and check out the other WORNG Electronics videos below too!

3D mixes in Eurorack with the WORNG Electronics SoundStage // Superbooth 2019

Published on May 13, 2019 DivKidVideo

"Both the LRMSMSLR and Vector Space (video demo links below) are great modules for manipulating signals within spaces for mid side processing or distributing various versions of CV or audio around a vector based cube and sphere. SoundStage takes music production and mixing techniques with preset level, pan and filtering to create a 3D soundstage that has stereo width, EQ shaping and depth within a Eurorack system. Full demo from me on the SoundStage coming soon and the module will be shipping very soon too."

WORNG Electronics - Vector Space (3 in 17 out cv/audio wizardry!)

Published on Jul 20, 2018 DivKidVideo

"TIMING INDEX / LINKS BELOW! - Following on from my video with the lovely little LRMSMSLR from WORNG Electronics is the Vector Space. Vector Space is a 3 input 17 output CV and audio wizardry machine! Well ... cutting the wizard and magic references it takes 3 inputs and places them around cubes, spheres and on various planes giving us 17 related (but all different) versions of the 3 inputs. There's rectification, phase inversions, offsets, attenuation all playing into giving all these different signals. It's great with LFOs and envelopes, random or even audio. So here's a walkthrough and various patches to show what's going on.

Check out the module and great manual here - https://www.worngelectronics.com

TIMING INDEX

00:00 Hello and previews of what's to come

00:49 Walkthrough, manual, what is this thing!?! Spheres, planes and cube outputs

03:31 A new track from me! Here's a patch I'm working on as a new track (to be released later). Here the Vector Space controls percussion, modulation, sequencing ... LITERALLY EVERYTHING! Really nice letting 3 inputs on this influence a whole patch and piece of music.

05:13 Random Voltages - using 3 stepped random voltages into the inputs into quantisers to get 3 voice polyphonic modular. The advantage here is I can process these voltages differently by taking different outputs and also use other outputs for related modulation.

07:23 Ultimate LFO Logic - this is a patch from the manual. Using 3 LFOs to create lots of unique outputs. This serves as a demo as to what actually happens to the signals using different outputs to show the rectification (LFOs are twice as fast), the offsets, inversions etc.

10:20 3D Vector Synthesis Patch - again another patch from the manual that is a riff on the Sequential (thanks Chris Meyer!) Vector Synthesis. Using external VCAs with different sounds and letting the various outputs open and close these for Vector Synthesis and blends/morphs between various tones and sounds.

12:37 Timbral Garden - you guessed it ... another patch from the manual. Here I take 3 triangle oscillator waves into the inputs tuned to a root, third and fifth in a chord. I'm exploring using the different outputs for different tones. You can clearly here how different outputs emphasis different harmonics in the sounds and some give a nice clipped octave up like effect too."

WORNG LRMSMSLR Mid-Side Encoder-Decoder Thonk DIY KIT Build+Patch Test - Eurorack Synth DIY

"WORNG Electronics LRMSMSLR Mid-Side Encoder-Decoder Eurorack Module 'Thonk' DIY KIT Build Steps and Test Patch Video (2018)

Mid/side processing is extremely useful and common practice in mixing and mastering. It allows you to process the Mid Content and Side content of your stereo signal independently. For example, in the patch I used to test my WORNG LRMSMSLR DIY KIT purchased from thonk.co.uk I use the LRMSMSLR Eurorack Module to add AJH GEMINI 2412 Filtering to the Mid content of my stereo signal and only to the Mid Content. At the same time I am adding Fuzz Distortion only to the Side content of the stereo signal by sending the SIDE signal through the Retro Mechanical Labs Electron Fuzz Custom EFCCV Eurorack Module

But that’s just the start, there is a lot you can do with the ability to press Mid and Side content of a stereo signal, the WORNG LRMSMSLR is an extremely useful tool opening up a lot of creative doors.

WORNG Electronics - LRMSMSLR (stereo mid/side wizardry - make your mono FX stereo etc)

Published on Jun 28, 2018 DivKidVideo

"TIMING INDEX BELOW - SKIP AROUND! :) GRAB HEADPHONES YOU'LL APPRECIATE WHAT THIS DOING EASIER ... pinky promise.

Here's the very excellent, very underrated, very overlooked LRMSMSLR module from WORNG Electronics ... that's wrong, spelt wrong ...

The LRMSMSLR takes a stereo input (left and right) then sums them together to create a mid input and creates a signal that's a difference of the two to create a side signal. This is a common mastering technique often doing things such as removing low end from the side stereo elements to clean up a mix. The mid signal is a single mono channel and the side input is a single mono channel, it's the way their phases are flipped and interacting when brought back together to recreate a stereo image. It's great for taking that side output and using mono FX modules that when brought back into the module create stereo images with those FX on them from super wide to more subtle stereo images (with a dry unprocessed mid to keep things focused). It can also do some unity summing, CV difference / averaging. Lots of patches, lots to get through, skip through the index below if you can't watch all the way through.

Mid/Side Stereo Action, Vector Based Modulation & Vactrol Turing Expanders with Worng Electronics at

Published on May 13, 2018 DivKidVideo

"Morgan at Worng Electronics presents a range of new modules included the improved and now released LRMSMSLR which is a stereo input and output device that converts stereo inputs to a mid and side signal then converts mid and side signals back to stereo. Mid-Side processing is a powerful function and it allows for modulation of stereo width and turning mono sources into stereo sounds by processing the side output from a single mono module (like a buy one get one free for your FX which is ace!) There's also the Vector Space which pushing input voltages around both cuboid and spherical shapes to create multiple modulation sources from only a few inputs. Finally there's the Vactrol based Low Pass Gate expander for the Turing Machine from Music Thing Modular.

Superbooth 2017 - Worng LRMSMSLR Mid Side Matrix

Published on Apr 29, 2017 DivKidVideo

"Worng give us a great presentation of their Mid Side Matrix module the LRMSMSLR. We start with two oscillators detuned and hard panned then audio rate stereo width manipulation creating some hard stereo sideband ring mod style action. Then move onto creating stereo FX from mono modules. By using the side output into a mono Music Thing Modular Spring Reverb we can then decode that for a stereo spring reverb sound ... crazy! I think I need a few of these."

Intro to Creative Mid-Side Audio Processing In Eurorack Modular

Published on Nov 29, 2016 gstormelectro

"Video and Audio by G-Storm Electro c.2016

What is Mid-Side Processing? How can you use Mid-Side in your Eurorack musical endeavors? In this video I'll show you how. Using the Worng LRMSMSLR module I provide some interesting patch examples of Mid-Side in action.

HEADPHONES OR A SET OF QUALITY AUDIO MONITORS ARE REQUIRED to hear the full effect of Mid-Side processing of stereo audio. My sound source today is a Roland Alpha Juno-1 w/ the chorus turned on. Remember, if the chorus is turned off, the synth only provides a monaural signal which is no bueno for Mid-Side processing. The Roland VP-03 Boutique Vocoder also provides an interesting ensemble choir sound that is useful.

Audio was recorded direct to Tascam DR-05 through a Mackie Mixer. No other effects were added to the sound other than the modules explained in this demo.

Other modules used in this video:
- Pittsburgh Synthesizer Box, MIDI3 module (clock)
- Pittsburgh Mix Mult (attenuators), Toolbox (S&H), Outs
- 4MS Rotating Clock Divider RCD
- Doepfer A-106-5 SEM Filter"

Some info on the WORNG LRMSMSLR:

"PCB & panel to build one WORNG LRMSMSLR mid/side encoder/decoder Eurorack module. This contains only the PCB & panel as shown, additional components are needed to build a functioning module. The price does not include support or troubleshooting. Although this is an easy build it's not intended as a beginner project, you must be comfortable sourcing parts and troubleshooting the circuit if you have made any errors."
