CV modulation from a Guitar Hero Whammy Bar
Published on Apr 24, 2013 Mark Steiner·7 videos
"Guitar Hero whammy bar pot wired into a Moogerfooger CP-251. Direct CV control of volume/brightness, then pitch. Has a good feel to it. The whole mechanism is nice, though I may use a stronger spring. But it already works great. I've cut out the mechanism to install into a convenient control box and may even put one on one of my keyboards."

Roland D-50: patch demo - "Helix" by Danielle

"Hi :) Here is another original patch I created for the D-50 titled "Helix". This sound features all 4 partials, two of which are tuned to create a "5th" effect. This patch tends to have a swirling texture to it with the reverberation used within D-50."

Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12 Demo by INHALT and The Bunker Studio
Published on Apr 23, 2013 INHALTVIDEO·18 videos
"It's been several months since we last had the Prophet 12 at our studio, and now, the Dave Smith Instruments team has given us a second run to create more factory bank patches. Much has changed, and all for the better, with the Prophet 12.
Firstly, it sounds much larger than before and there are more wavetables. Secondly, the stereo field is incredible. We were able to use very subtle panning modulations to create a strong and wide sense of space with the patches we've programmed. Also, the user interface has been incredibly streamlined providing us with a very speedy workflow while assigning very complex modulations. Lastly, the new arpeggiator is unbelievable.
Our many thanks go to everyone at DSI. It's an honor to be making patches for the next Prophet synth.
This demo was recorded via a Neve Portico Preamp into a Digidesign 192 Pro Tools HD interface. We recorded this synth no differently than we record all of our other synths. Also, there is no MIDI on this demo. Everything was played by hand and used the onboard controls and modulators present on the Prophet 12. And there are absolutely zero Emerson, Lake, and Palmer impressions nor any keyboard equivalents of the "Stairway to Heaven" solo. Nor will there ever be on this channel.

Using a Roland TR-909 as a MIDI Sequencer
TR-909 External Instrument Demo

"Here's a video I filmed an edited 3 years ago and never got around to uploading. In addition to programming rhythms with the 909's built-in drum sounds, you can also program rhythms on external MIDI gear. You can select any MIDI channel and program a pattern using MIDI notes 36 through 51 (the lowest C on a 61 note keyboard to D# an octave above. I start by programming a synth bass part (Roland Jupiter 6). Then, I add a simple drum pattern to it. Next, I move over to a second 909 and program a 2 bar pattern of chord stabs (Roland JD-800). I have to transpose the oscillators up a couple of octaves in order for this to work. Lastly, I program alternate drum notes on the 2nd 909 then hard pan the 2 drum machines for a stereo panning effect. During the filming, I accidently put the Sony VX-2000 into its "Demo Mode" which showcases some of the camera's built-in digital visual effects."
