Sequential Trigon-6 Module: Why You Should Be Using Synth Modules

video upload by Sweetwater

"Dave Smith’s synthesizer legacy was immediately cemented with the debut of the Prophet-5 in 1978. Nearly half a century later, Sequential continues Smith’s innovative spirit with the Trigon-6, initially released as a 49-key polyphonic analog synthesizer and now available as a synth module. It boasts the entire span of sonic capabilities that can be found in its full-size sibling, sans the keyboard. Packing power and portability into a mobility-minded module, this take on the immensely versatile Trigon-6 is a premium case study in what makes a solid synth module and why you should be using them in your setup. Daniel Fisher takes the helm to show you just what a bona fide module can do. Check it out!"

Arturia Origin Desktop Virtual Analog Synthesizer SN 09226000610

"I purchased this Item on Reverb within the last year or so. At the time of purchase, the seller said that this was Daniel Fisher's personal synth, and it was shipped out of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mr. Fisher has been the synthesis guru at Sweetwater for decades. I later spoke to a friend who works there, and he commented that Mr. Fisher worked extensively with this Origin Desktop, and a great deal of very deep custom programing is likely inside.

Usually, I upgrade the firmware when I make a synthesis purchase. For this item, when I went to check the firmware version, it was already the latest release.

I have also made very few saved changes to any programs. I unfortunately only had time to label a ridiculously awesome Multi setup 020 Four Arpeggios as a favorite. Therefore, whatever deep extensive programming the item arrived to me with remains nearly entirely intact."

Moog 16-channel Vocoder Demo

Published on Feb 4, 2020 Sweetwater

"Daniel Fisher is demonstrating the Moog Vocoder, originally released in 1979 and used by artists such as Wendy Carlos, Devo, Giorgio Moroder, Moog Cookbook, Saga, Yellow Magic Orchestra, and filmmaker/composer John Carpenter, among others. A 16-band analog signal processor that continuously analyzes the timbral characteristics of a sound (the Program) and impresses its timbral characteristics upon a second signal (the Carrier), the Vocoder is perfect for mutating vocals, warping synthesizers, and much more. The 16-channel Vocoder’s analog voice circuits are hand-soldered at the employee-owned Moog Factory in Asheville, NC to deliver that classic ’70s sound.

Fisher is using the Moog Matriarch Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer both in front of the Vocoder (with its oscillators and filters) as well as after the Vocoder (with its Stereo Analog Ping Pong Delay)."

Behringer Model D Analog Synthesizer Module Review

SweetwaterSound
Published on Aug 9, 2017

"It's all there. Sweetwater's Daniel Fisher demonstrates the three punchy oscillators, classic 24dB/octave voltage-controlled filter with resonance, envelopes, LFO, portamento, and more. All instantly familiar — only smaller. The Behringer D is a Eurorack-sized reincarnation of the legendary analog monosynth that started it all. From fat pulsing basses to searing leads to celestial pads: the Behringer D puts a world of musical expression under your fingertips."

Moog Emerson Modular Synthesizer System Review

Published on Jul 20, 2017 SweetwaterSound

"Daniel Fisher, Sweetwater’s maven of modular madness, gives a quick run-through of the Emerson Moog Modular synthesizer. Sweetwater is proud to be chosen to sell the final unit (third of three) that Moog Music will build of this historic synthesizer.

Because it was built using only ’60s-era technology and techniques, the Emerson Moog Modular doesn’t ring out with crystal-clear digital perfection. Subtle distortions and noise of every kind assault every note, and that is the secret of the clone’s success."

Hammond Novachord with Sweetwater's Daniel Fisher

Published on Jan 10, 2017 SweetwaterSound

"Daniel Fisher, Sweetwater’s full-time synth fanatic, gives an in-depth tour of the Hammond Novachord, which is widely regarded as the father of the modern polyphonic synthesizer. It debuted at the 1939 World’ Fair and featured 72-note polyphony, oscillators, filters, envelopes, and frequency modulation, which were used to craft its organic and otherworldly sounds.

After a close look at all of the Novachord’s parameters and internal components, Daniel gives an impromptu performance while sweeping through all of the parameters’ values. Then, as an example of what it would sound like in modern times, Fisher plays the Novachord through an Eventide H9 Multi-Effects Processor.

Only five fully restored Novachords are known to exist today.

Joseph Fill and his son, Justin, poured more than 2,000 hours of work restoring this 1941 Hammond Novachord. They replaced countless components, rewired all the connections, and then cleaned and polished the internal and external surfaces by hand.

Please feel free to contact Joe Fill if you wish to inquire about purchasing this beautifully restored piece of musical instrument history: hangarjoe@sbcglobal.net"

See the Novachord label below for more.
