Reminder: Minimoog Prototype Exhibit, Erik Norlander Keyboard Sale Price Drop, Mini Minimoogs & More

via The Bob Moog Foundation
Minimoog Prototype Exhibit At the Moogseum This Weekend Only!
The anticipation is almost over! We are thrilled to be hosting the Minimoog Prototype Exhibit at the Moogseum, this weekend only, in partnership with the Museum of Music Technology (MMT). The exhibit will feature four ultra rare Minimoog prototypes from 1969, 1970, and 1971, as well as a host of related artifacts from the Bob Moog Foundation Archives.
We are honored to have JoE Silva, author of The Minimoog Book: The Synthesizer That Changed Music Forever: Sounds, Stories, and Technology join us throughout the weekend of the exhibit. He'll be on hand to delve into the history of the Minimoog with exhibit attendees and sign books in the Moogseum store.
We're excited to share a new addition to the exhibit. MMT will be bringing Minimoog serial number 1016 (the sixteenth Minimoog ever produced out of 12,269 units), which was purchased in 1971 by none other than David VanKoevering, the marketing genius behind the early Minimoog sales. David's Minimoog will be available for exhibit attendees to play and explore. Come get you hands on this incredible piece of synthesizer history!
Finally, be sure to take advantage of the morning tours with our executive director, Michelle Moog-Koussa. Michelle will be delving into Minimoog history as it is conveyed through the main gallery of the Moogseum. She doesn't give tours often, so take advantage of this opportunity. The tours are available for a small fee for any exhibit attendee.

EMS Synthi 100
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Vemia listing
Click the auction link on top when you get there for additional listings.
"This is my EMS 100, serial number 007, clearly licensed to thrill. Arguably, one of the most iconic if not the most iconic modular synth ever built. This is the unit formerly owned by TC media composer Bruno Spoeri. It came to me in a very good state and I enjoyed it for a long time.
I have owned several VCS3s and AKS over the years as well and I would describe the EMS 100 as sounding substantially more organic. It can of course do all the weird and wonderful stuff an EMS synth is known for and take this to extremes. But it also excels at playing it melodically (yes it can do that) which is much helped by the dual manual keyboard which is velocity sensitive (!) and very expressive.
I want the buyer of this wonderful item to be as happy with it as I was. The EMS is therefore currently being refurbished by a world leading specialist with huge experience in servicing and building modular synths and commercial studios all over the world. State of refurbishment The EMS has undergone a complete overhaul. The refurbishment also includes the woodwork and the dual keyboard.
As reported by my tech, the sound generation and the keyboards are fully functional. We haven't managed to fix the sequencer in time for the auction. We also need to fix one of the two spring reverbs. If these two issues haven't been fixed before the auction end I will contribute 5k Euro to the repair as a lump sum reduction of the purchase price. It will be in the buyer's discretion to decide on the further course of action.
Shipping: The EMS 100 main unit is a substantial item. It is currently sitting at my tech's premises. It can be delivered by him with a lorry to most parts of central Europe (within reason). This is to be arranged between the buyer and my tech and will have to be compensated on terms agreed between the buyer and my tech. My tech will also be happy to help setting it up after the journey.
If overseas shipping is required, the EMS main unit can be divided into two parts, the lower pedestal and the console (i.e. the synth itself) which is sitting on the pedestal. Along with the dual manual keyboard this will result in three parts for the shipping. It is no problem to build a crate. This will be have to be arranged by the buyer with my tech.
Important: All shipping arrangements must be made by the buyer with my tech. The ownership of the EMS will pass to the buyer upon receipt of the auction price while the EMS is still sitting at my tech's place. It will be shipped directly from him at the buyers instruction, arrangements and risk. My tech is of course happy to assist with shipping and he has experience with shipping. He has shipped large format consoles over the Atlantic, so he knows what he is doing. As always, the buyer is of course responsible for all import duties and taxes as normal. (Within the EU that is zero!)
Bidding: I kindly ask bidders to only bid with serious intent. Please do not bid if you cannot follow up on your bid. Please keep in mind that the bid constitutes a binding contract and not following up can cause substantial damage to me and/or other bidders. I trust that you understand.
VEMIA note: on reflection, given the pretty remarkable condition of most of the Synthi, we think 'very good' is a more accurate cosmetic score. Please look at the photos to decide for yourself."

Anthony Marinelli Music Synth Studio Revealed | Studio Tour 2025
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"I finally agreed to make a video showing my synthesizer studio. I'm NOT a collector, so you'll see the instruments I've used for over four decades to do my work. It's also my space for composing. In this deep dive studio tour, I walk you through every corner of my space, showing how everything’s connected for performing, recording, and creative flow.
You’ll see icons like the 'Plantasia' Moog Modular IIIc, Synclavier II, Rhodes Chroma with Expander & Enabler, Oberheim Four Voice, Elka Synthex, Roland Jupiter 8, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, ARP 2600s, Korg MS modular synths, some classic Minimoog — plus a few modern synths I’ve added as I look to the future. Alongside the synths are vintage drum machines, string machines, and rare electric keyboards including a 1973 Fender Rhodes Suitcase and Hohner Clavinet/Pianet Duo.
We'll also explore racks of outboard gear, vocoder units, tape echoes, and a vast array of my custom guitar pedal options, efx pedal boards and studio effects racks that make this room endlessly inspiring. I'll also reveal how my entire studio is designed for instant creativity, featuring 48 channels of synth drivers and stage boxes, so any synth can be patched and recorded on the fly."

Swizzle Circuits - Power Plant USB module
via Swizzle Circuits
Everyone wants a little power, am-I-right? Well that's exactly what we've created - easy USB power in your modular rack to power MIDI keyboards, USB lights, small fans and other things that are a hassle to easily power otherwise.
Powered - 6hp (30mm)
I know we all love cables, but enough is enough! Most of the little accessories modular systems need are USB powered, and now there is a way to cut the cabling that goes beyond your rack. Install this slim module in your rack and you can power those pesky USB things such as: MIDI controllers, USB LED lighting for night plays and small USB fans. Put in one at either end of a big system to keep the power handy. There are a few things to keep in mind. Keep the power draw down to about 1000mA total - although the module can provide it, it might not be too kind to your rack power supply (You would be surprised how much power those cheap LED light draw - trust us, we looked!). Not designed or engineered to charge a phone - they make LOTS OF NOISE on the bus!
Just like every Swizzle Circuits module, it comes fully assembled, tested and ready to go. Just take it out of the package and plug it in.
Power Plant USB Module features:
- includes modular power cable. Uses the 12v DC Eurorack supply - no 5V DC needed.
- Fits right in your modular rack to give quick USB power anywhere.
- RED LED power indicator shines through the face to let you know it's ready.
- Both twin USB jacks are back-lit GREEN to help in the dark.
- Provides (2)-twin USB jack plugs for a total of (4).
- Can provide up to 1000mA of 5VDC power - see notes above-.
- Swizzle Circuits custom designed PCB

Control Synths from Your Phone: Piano Improv on Blade Runner Riff | iOS MIDI (Beta)
video upload by Cristián R. Villagra
"Live piano improvisation over synth riffs driven by my in-development iOS MIDI control app (no name yet). The app sends MIDI to my computer to play arpeggiators and tweak sound parameters in real time (filters, tone, mix, FX) using on-screen faders, knobs, XY pads, mini keyboards, and pitch bend.
Session routing (Kontakt):
• CH1: Noire Piano — played from Arturia KeyLab 88 Mk3
• CH2: Two synths — driven by the app’s Bass Arpeggiator (riff inspired by Vangelis’ Blade Runner theme)
• CH3: Lead synth — performed from the app’s mini keyboard
• CH4: Minimal electronic drums — driven by a second arpeggiator
Why this app? Many keyboards I use on stage have few (or zero) surface controls—sometimes not even pitch bend—so I built a mobile controller to unlock hands-on control: shape filters, automate movements, morph textures, balance layers, and keep playing fluidly. If this helps me, I know it can help other players too.
This video is a 6-minute+ live jam to show the workflow: arpeggiators keeping motion underneath while I improvise on piano and ride parameters on Page 2 of my scene (faders/knobs/XY). The app is still in development and I plan to release it as soon as possible.
If you’re into MIDI control, live keys, or sound design, tell me what you’d like this app to do next—your feedback will shape the release.
Additional Keywords: iOS MIDI app, mobile MIDI controller, live arpeggiator, synth arps, Kontakt Noire, Native Instruments, Arturia KeyLab 88 Mk3, phone MIDI, DAW performance, synth filters, XY pad, faders and knobs, pitch bend on mobile, live improvisation, Blade Runner inspired, Vangelis, sound design workflow"

Harmonium VST FREE With Crow Hill VAULTS
video upload by CROW HILL
"With Theo off on hols this week Christian opens the lid on one of his favourite instruments, The Harmonium. Think Penguin Cafe Orchestra, think Jon Brion, think a leading (albeit inanimate) character in Punch Drunk Love."
Press release follows:
The Crow Hill Company announces availability of VAULTS - HARMONIUM, bringing bellows to DAWs as latest free VI abiding by its Make Music, Your Music motto
EDINBURGH, UK: The Crow Hill Company is proud to announce availability of VAULTS - HARMONIUM — bringing bellows to DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) as its latest free VI (Virtual Instrument) monthly drop, allowing anyone to experience the timbral complexities and harmonic layers of its gorgeous and, some might say, quaint instrument namesake for the rest of their lives, abiding, as always, by the Edinburgh-based enterprise creators’ collective Make Music, Your Music motto — as of October 24…
Its iconic appearance in Director/Writer Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2002-released dark romantic comedy Punch: Drunk Love — look it up! — may make many think of the harmonium in a certain way. What is certain, though, is that the small free-reed organ was patented way before, back in 1842 by Frenchman Alexandre Debain. By being smaller and less expensive than traditional pipe organs, it quickly became popular through Europe, India, Africa, and the southern United States. Travelling through the north of the UK, harmoniums can still be found tucked away in the corners of many recording studios. Saying that, those that are there are not just set dressing; after all, the harmonium captured the hearts of artists such as The Beatles, Supertramp, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, and Tori Amos, all of whom featured it in their music.
Making music with a harmonium is easier said than done, however, since the instrument in question generates sound by pumping air — using two foot-operated pedals joined to a mechanism that operates a bellows or by pushing and pulling a handle joined to the bellows back and forth with one hand — past a thin piece of metal in a frame and making it vibrate. Vibrations then resonate through the harmonium’s wooden body, thereby producing the distinctive, church-like sound. Thankfully, The Crow Hill Company has succeeded in capturing this sound to produce VAULTS - HARMONIUM, making it much easier for many more appreciative sound-seekers to experience its musical magic.
Composer Christian Henson — original founder of The Crow Hill Company — freely admits to being a big fan: “It’s got to be one of my favourite instruments. It can bring a simplicity to music — dare I say it, a quaintness, but because of its timbral complexities, it’s also massively expressive.”

Erik Norlander's Farfisa Compact Duo CD/30 Dual Keyboard Organ
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
video upload by moogfoundation
via this Reverb listing
"A rare vintage combo organ with that unmistakable Farfisa sound. Removable, fold-out bottom reveals fold-down legs (one or two screws missing but still functional) and hard-wired power cable. Cable connects to the external Farfisa F/AR unit which provides power and contains the spring reverb. This unit is functionally good but it could use some internal contact cleaning in a few areas. We coaxed some very usable tones out of it in the demo video! The case itself has been "well-loved," showing moderate surface scuffs from travel.
–
This is the Compact Duo CD/30, one of Farfisa’s higher-end models from the late ’60s; basically a two-manual version of the Compact with expanded voicing and richer tone-shaping options. A favorite among garage rockers, psych bands, and analog synth fans alike.
Features:
Two manuals (upper and lower keyboards) for split/layered playing
Vibrato, tone boost, and percussion controls
Bass and organ voices with classic Farfisa tabs
Mark I version
The Compact Duo was used extensively by Pink Floyd (Echoes, etc.); a favorite for its gritty tone and punchy presence on stage and in the studio.
30% of the sale supports the Bob Moog Foundation, preserving the legacy of electronic music and inspiring future generations."

1010music bento ~ The Sampling Synthesizer and Sequencing Workhorse
video upload by RetroSound
"supported by UVI: http://bit.ly/retrosound-uvi
Last week arrived my prize from the Keyboards Synthesizer competition. 🙂 Some of you voted for me. Yes, no vintage synthesizer. :D I promised I would make a demo. And here we are.
Call me crazy, but I couldn't tear myself away from it all weekend. I loaded all my drum machine samples from the last 30 years into the box, along with waveforms from my synthesizers. This thing is a sound and performance monster. Even as a sampling drum machine alone, it's worth its weight in gold. Sampling with extensive editing options such as slicing, chopping up samples, multi-sampling , real-time and step sequencing, granular synthesis, etc. Everything under one roof. Bento works scene-based like Ableton Live, for example, which means you first build the individual components and then put everything together into a song at the end. The advantage of this is that you can rebuild and rearrange the song in real time over and over again.
It's still in the early stages of development and updates are coming out all the time, but even in its current state, Bento is super awesome.
here is the bento:
0:06 Intro
0:18 Sample Processing
1:08 Granular
1:36 Track Programming
2:47 RetroSound Demo Song 1 (Electro)
3:56 RetroSound Demo Song 2 (Synthwave)
5:29 Drum Sample Processing
RetroSound synthesizer demo videos since january 2007.
Everything is free. If you like my work, you can also support me with the purchase of my merchandise stuff or my music.

Echograin Tranzwave 2 Software Synthesizer Inspired by the Ensoniq Fizmo
video uploads by Echograin
video upload by AMAZONA Music Mag

via Echograin
Introducing Tranzwave, a powerful wavetable Synthesizer, inspired by an unsung hero from the late 90’s: The Ensoniq Fizmo.
The flexible modulation engine, coupled with creative editing and randomization features, simplifies the creation of new, innovative sounds. Tranzwave brings all the wavetables from the Fizmo into the modern age for new creative explorations. With its user-friendly interface, Tranzwave provides complete control over wavetable and effect controls, making the creation of new sounds both fun and easy.
Tranzwave – A Tribute to Fizmo’s DNA
In the late 1990s Ensoniq pioneered “Transwaves”, a unique form of wavetable synthesis notably featured in their Fizmo synthesizer. Unlike earlier forms of wavetable synthesis, which could sometimes produce more static or stepped sounds, Ensoniq’s technology facilitated fluid transitions between different waveforms within a wavetable.
This innovation led to the creation of evolving, dynamic soundscapes. Ensoniq’s approach allowed for a more seamless and organic morphing of sounds, enabling musicians to craft rich, textured audio experiences that changed over time. This method offered a fresh and novel way to explore sonic possibilities, distinguishing it from the more digital and discrete transitions of previous wavetable synthesizers like the PPG Wave. Although the Ensoniq Fizmo, which utilized Transwaves, did not achieve widespread fame, its distinctive approach to wavetable synthesis marked a significant development in the evolution of electronic sound and influenced modern synthesis techniques.
Tranzwave brings this older, unique wavetable concept, known as Transwaves, into the modern era of music production. By sampling each frame of these Transwaves, Tranzwave offers a rich and dynamic sonic palette that captures the essence of these early digital synthesizers. It’s akin to having a vast library of colors and shades at your disposal, offering endless possibilities for creating new and innovative sounds.

Sequential Introduces Fourm: A Four-Voice Analog Synth with Polyphonic Aftertouch
A New Fourm of Expression
San Francisco, CA — September 23, 2025 — Sequential has announced the release of its most affordable, synthesizer to date. Fourm is a compact, 100% analog instrument that redefines expressive electronic performance. With its warm, organic tone, hands-on modulation routing, and a uniquely responsive polyphonic aftertouch keyboard, Fourm is ready to bring your musical ideas to life.
At its core, Fourm delivers four analog voices of genuine Sequential sound, derived from the legendary Prophet-5 — complete with dual oscillators, a classic 4-pole lowpass filter, and envelope curves modeled after the 1978 original. The result is unmistakable Sequential warmth and punch, now with overdriven feedback for a performance-ready edge.
For the first time in 40 years, Sequential has returned to polyphonic aftertouch. The team developed the new Tactive™ slim-keys poly AT keybed to work in concert with Fourm’s analog synthesis engine. Every element was co-designed and precisely calibrated to unlock new levels of expression, enabling a deeper connection to our signature sound that no off-the-shelf keybed could deliver. The result is a more expressive bond between player and instrument, energizing new modes of creativity.
“Wowww holy smokes: this thing sounds and feels amazing,” said Bryn Bliska, (keyboards for Chappell Roan, Maggie Rogers, Jacob Collier). “The polyphonic aftertouch is seriously so fun… Sequential nailed it.”
“We’re so excited to bring this innovative all-analog keyboard into the world,” said David Gibbons, Sequential CEO. “At a price-point that most people expect to pay for a monophonic synth, we think this product will invite legions of musicians who have longed for the magic of polyphonic analog sounds to start their journey of discovery with Sequential.”
Notably inspired by the Pro~One, Fourm’s top-panel modulation matrix puts deep sound design at your fingertips—no menu diving required. Modulation sources and destinations are clearly labeled, connections are made with a button press, and color-coded indicators make even complex routings easy to manage.
With its compact footprint, professional-grade build, and a sound engine rooted in Sequential’s most iconic instruments, Fourm is a powerful new voice in analog synthesis.
About Sequential
Sequential has been at the forefront of synthesizer innovation since 1974, creating instruments that inspire musicians and shape the sound of modern music. With a legacy built on the iconic Prophet synthesizers, Sequential continues to push the boundaries of sound design with cutting-edge technology and exceptional craftsmanship.
