The French producer and artist will be back in Nantes, his hometown, for this exceptional evening. Joachim Garraud will present a preview of the film "Modular California Vibes", a documentary on electronic music creation on board his solar mobile studio where 4 producers will record 4 original tracks in 4 unusual places during 4 days, thanks to the sun. A debate will follow the unique screening of this film in France, to then give way to a concert. Joachim Garraud at SynthFest France, the musical event in Nantes not to be missed.

ARPEGGIATION STATION

A built-in arpeggiator with 52 settings instantly creates hypnotizing rhythmic patterns from your chords. "Original retro-style synthesizer soundtrack on a segment of "Interplanetary Revolution" a surreal Soviet animated short released in 1924. Specifically, we use the segment from about 3:30​ to the end of the film.

Interplanetary Revolution was a short animated film created in the Soviet Union in 1924 by Nikolai Khodataev, Zenon Komissarenko, Youry Merkulov. It mixes cel animation and collage, and it notable for its trippy and surreal style.

'Mono Lake is a saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake. These salts also make the lake water alkaline...
...Mono Lake is a highly alkaline lake, or soda lake. Alkalinity is a measure of how many bases are in a solution, and how well the solution can neutralize acids. Carbonate (CO32-) and bicarbonate (HCO3−) are both bases. Hence, Mono Lake has a very high content of dissolved inorganic carbon. Through supply of calcium ions (Ca2+), the water will precipitate carbonate-minerals such as calcite (CaCO3). Subsurface waters enter the bottom of Mono Lake through small springs. High concentrations of dissolved calcium ions in these subsurface waters cause huge amounts of calcite to precipitate around the spring orifices.[8] The tufa originally formed at the bottom of the lake. It took many decades or even centuries to form the well-recognized tufa towers. When lake levels fell, the tufa towers came to rise above the water surface and stand as the majestic pillars seen today'

There's TONNEs (how many eurorack CV inputs constitute a tonne?) of modulation inputs so I thought I'd throw lots at it, jam with envelopes, VCA offsets, sequences and muting drums in and out and get lots of sounds and sequences flying by. "We explore the new Waverazor Eurorack Module from MOK. The module features the same patented waveslicing oscillators found in the Waverazor software plugin, complete with a multitude of controls for manipulating the waveslices via the touch screen, knobs, or CV inputs.

We discuss the concepts of waveslicing synthesis, explore the interface, check out some presets, create our own sliced waveform, and go wild with the CV inputs, culminating in a performance with CV sequencers and external drum machines.
