Info:
The MS2600NG is a German Synthesizer DIY Project by Matthias Beese.
There is only a small bunch of a few DIY MS2600NG Kits / Synths on the Market.
The MS2600NG is an Enhanced Full-Size Clone on the legendary ARP 2600 Synthesizer.
For more details of this Synthesizer go to the MS2600NG Webpage.
In this Vlog Episode i show you some of the Great Features and Sounds the MS2600NG offers. For more Information’s on the DIY Synth (just in German) visit this Link.

The Buchla Bongo Patch is a classic patch where a complex sound source – such as one oscillator frequency modulating another – is normaly sent through a Low Pass Gate with either just a trigger to “strike” the vactrol inside or otherwise an instant attack/fast decay envelope to create a nice percussive sound. In lacking of an Low Pass Gate in the MS2600NG we used the Sync and FM possibilities of the MS2600NG to give it a decay similar to a struck percussive instrument.

"I show you the great MS2600NG Synth in action, without talking !!!. #synthgearvlog #ms2600ng #arp26000"

Additional details in German: https://diy-mms.jimdo.com/ms-2600-ng-arp-clone/, Googligoo here

This project combines two projects in one synthesizer.

1.) The replica of an ARP2600 based on the original service documents.
2.) The expansion of the classic by a few functions and modules.

The MS 2600 NG is therefore the result of the two points mentioned above.

(The "NG" in the name stands for "NextGeneration" and the new features)

I started the project in 12/2016. The development and construction time was approximately 1 3⁄4 years.

The upper part is almost 1: 1 the original. I added a GATE function to the envelope follower. VCO1 and VCO2 have a SYNC input and the frequency-determining transistors of all VCOs are given small heaters so that they are kept at a constant temperature (frequency stability). VCO3 has also received a TRI and SINE output, as well as a PWM input. The MIXER has been expanded by one channel (VCA2).

In the lower part there are the following new groups (from LEFT to RIGHT):
Midi IN (2 * GATE + 4 * CV)
Sequencer with quantizer
ARSR and AD2
DUAL-8Bit Wavetable VCO
MultiMode VCF
VCA 2

The loudspeakers are realized as 'BOX in CASE', ie they get a closed housing with bass reflex opening in the lower part.

There are 5 basic boards, primarily with mech. Components are equipped (slider, sockets, switches, LEDs, buttons etc.), but also contain a few passive components and uncritical circuit parts. This makes the board size easy to handle and you don't have to unscrew everything when servicing.

The boards are mounted on the front panel with the many jack sockets (approx. 130 pieces).

The individual circuits are housed on the 16 module boards, which are then plugged onto the motherboard."
