"Back in 2020 I had the pleasure of Interviewing the Team behind the IMPLEXUS, which at that time was on Kick Starter. It reached the Goal and was then released, however as we know the World changed a lot during the intervening years with costs, gaining parts and a whole lot of other issues which have impacted Synthesizer Manufacture.

Jasper from Majella Audio reached out to me to see if I would like to Review the IMPLEXUS and I've been lucky to try out the Synth for a couple of weeks.

Like I have done previously with Mono Synth Reviews, I decided to make a complete Track using ONLY the IMPLEXUS for every Sound source, including Drums and Percussion. The process is to make each Drum Sound and Sample into NI Machine to build a Kit, then make each of the other Sounds, like Bass, Sequences and even Pads, then Track them into Logic Pro.

While I have done this before, it really was a pleasure doing it with the IMPLEXUS as the range of tones and texture is much greater than a typical Monosynth and I really enjoyed making the Review.

IMPLEXUS - Patch Example #4 // Experimental sounds

"Modulation pitch with the envelope and velocity allows you to play different scales than just 1V/octave. With dissonant audio rate modulations you can create metallic sounding textures and when playing with the envelope in loop mode allows some kind of randomness, because you can release the key (note off) at a different moment in the "decay" time, so it will go into 'release'."

"The IMPLEXUS is not always gritty and grumpy.. With a longer attack, velocity and a bit of LFO send to the wavefolder you will get a organic, almost string like sounds. You can play with vibrato and audio rate modulations for expression and add a reverb pedal for some space. Also you could create harmony and thickness by blending in the sub-oscillator and the second oscillator as well!"
