Sticky Gooey wheels on Ultranova Synthesizer.

"This stuff cleaned away the goo and did no damage to the keyboard Synthesizer."

I just checked my Ultranova that I've owned since 2016, and it's not sticky at all. If you are buying one on the 2nd hand market you might want to check with the seller. I'm going to have to give this a try on my Moog Sub Phatty's side panels. I wouldn't try it on surfaces with graphics as it might remove them. See this post for what I used on my Pulse Plus.

"Happy New Year! I was just going to record myself with an iPhone playing Carol Of The Bells on just the Aluphone but one thing lead to another and I had to finally stop adding tracks and tweaking things! 😸

Replacement Wood Side Panels for Moog Sub Phatty Side Panels Going Tacky

A few pics of the Moog Sub Phatty with Synthcraft woood side panels in via John L Rice. Synthcraft makes side panels for others synths as well. You can find them directly on their website, as well as their Reverb shop.

John let me know the orginal side panels on his Sub Phatty have started to feel tacky to the touch. I just checked my Sub Phatty and sure enough it is a little tacky as well. I wish manufacturers would stop using finishes that break down over time.

"'Leads & Plucks' is a collection of 64 presets for Moog Subsequent 25 and Sub Phatty.
The soundset includes: 39 Leads, 20 Plucks, 5 Chords. There's a wide range of tones: retro/vintage/classical and modern, soft/gentle/deep and aggressive/harsh/bright, noisy, evolving, punchy... Leads are great for synth solos, plucks can be used with external arpeggiator/sequencer, or can be played with the keyboard.

The presets are suitable for all genres of electronic music, including Techno, House, Trance, Lounge, Downtempo, Funk, Disco, Pop, Acid, Hardcore, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Breakbeat, Trap, Electro, Ambient, Dubstep, EDM, Synth-Pop and others.

Presets' volume levels are set close to each other, you won't get sudden volume spikes or drops while switching the presets.
ModWheel is set in every preset. In some presets, its initial position is set to zero, in others - ModWheel has maximum level by default.

EMS Synthi Custom Patches

"A few custom patches on the EMS Synthi. Unfortunately this isn't my personal unit, but after spending a few hours on it, I wish I had the money (or a kidney not being used)!

Detail:
No external effects were used (although most sounds do have some slight compression via the very transparent FMR RNC 1773).
Sounds were recorded into a Zoom H6.
No post processing or mastering was used (apologies on level changes etc.).

Some things I’ve learned about the EMS Synthi (and by extension all the models - the A, AKS and VCS3 synthesizers):
The internal drive of the machine is extremely musical - reminds me a bit of the Moog Grandmother or Sub Phatty series. The only difference is that it's possible to push the mixer on separate waveforms within each OSC, then have those routed almost anywhere - the feedback loops are, INCREDIBLE!
Trying to get get musical scales from the keyboard across more than a few octaves is difficult to say the least (not just because this particular unit was very susceptible to drift). I ended up just tweaking without the keyboard in the end.
The OSC pots are the best pots I've ever used for OSC tweaking hands down! Why aren't these on absolutely everything?! If the Behringer clone (not yet released at the time of this video) doesn't have these pots at a similar quality it's a travesty.
And finally, I think I'm going to struggle to buy another synth that doesn't have the option to route OSCs to bypass the filter after spending time with this - looking at you Pro 4 (if one is ever released of course).

"Ahead of buying the Sequential Pro 3 synthesizer, I did what we all do – I went online and found every clip I could on the machine. Very quickly I realized that the Pro 3 will sound different depending on the person designing sounds for it, so to add to the pile of varied content already out there, I thought I’d share recordings from my first bank of original sounds. This video is Part 1 (softer sounds - for the most part - in this video).

Detail:
All patches you hear were created within the first month of owning the Pro 3.
No external effects were used (although some sounds do have some slight compression via the very transparent FMR RNC 1773).
Sounds were recorded in one sitting direct into a Zoom H6.
No post processing or mastering was used (apologies on level changes etc.).

Some things I’ve learned about the Sequential Pro 3 synth that I wish I had known:
The Pro 3 has some of the hottest gain staging of any synth I’ve owned/used. If I compare synths like the Moog Sub Phatty, I find myself needing to be quite careful not to create overly aggressive sounds (this could be a plus too though). If you don't like subtle tweaking then this might be an issue.
Once you use a mod matrix that allows you to simply hold a button, tweak a knob to get a source, then do the same for the destination, you’ll want it on every synth you own. The Pro 3 has spoiled me here for sure."

This jam was one of the results from a recent jam session with my good buddy Daaf. We had a blast with all the synths fired up and ready to go and made three new pieces of work 💪

I used the mod wheel from the Sub Phatty to modulate Omnisphere + some other pad layers. After that, in comes the bass from the Sub Phatty itself and I quickly switched over to the Prophet Rev 2 to lay down the lead. Let me know what you think of this one! 🤗"
