Additional Analog U.S Listings

Analog U.S also has replacement knobs. Note you can find their banner on the right of the site. If you are ever looking for spare parts for your vintage analog gear, check them out. They have a variety of odds and end available, including badges, knobs, side panels, and witch caps. And they of course have vintage synths. You can find them on eBay here.

"This one is in good condition and working 100%. I didn't have the original foot-switch so I had one made. It works exactly like the original. It will be properly packaged when sold and will arrive in the condition as stated. Not sold as-is!

Cosmetically- Nothing is mint in my opinion and this one is no exception. There are plenty of scuffs & scratches on it. Overall, I think it's in good condition. Please check out the photos. It has new knobs and some new screws. The switch knobs have faded due to age so they are a little darker than the new knobs.

Internally- Apart from any repairs, the unit has been disassembled and cleaned, all switches and potentiometers have been cleaned, the power supply has been rebuilt (all capacitors replaced), has new jacks, and it has a new foot-switch as mentioned. This may be updated!"

Processing Dub Techno Stabs (Ft Yamaha E1010 Delay, Master Room Spring Reverb & Mu-Tron Bi-Phase)

Sound Provider

"After my video about the Sound of the Musitronics MuTron BiPhase Phaser ( [posted here] ) someone ask me a demo with Techno Dub or Reggae Dub Chord Stab so I did this video quickly .

For this one I use the Novation Peak Synthesizer to do the stabs, Switch off the effects of the Synth, then I send the sound directly to my Yamaha E1010 BBD Analog delay then I send the signal to one channel of my MicMix Master Room XL-210 Spring Reverb , finally I send the signal to the Mu-Tron Bi-Phase.

Voila

Sound of: Mu-Tron Bi-Phase (Feat Novation Peak Synth & Yocto Drum Machine)

Sound Provider

"I ve done this video for people like me who love to see gear in action, so be careful, this video may be a little too long for some of you. :)

I did few quick loops here then I turn the knobs testing different settings with the glorious and vintage Musitronics Mutron Biphase Double Phaser pedal effect (Or Phasor, If you know the difference between Phaser and Phasor please tell me )

To help me with this mission, I used the Novation Peak synthesizer and the Yocto drum machine (A DIY Clone of the Roland Tr-808 from E-licktronic I build myself not without difficulty) .

The video Start with a 'Clavinet' Sound Done with the Peak, at 2.30 you have kind of Guitar arp, at 5.30 a bass Lead at 9.30 some Pad Chord, at 13minutes you can listen to the effect with a Bass then around 16 the video ends with the DrumMachine.

Voila

Leonard de Leonard"

Mu-Tron Bi-Phase & The Groundbreaking Story of The Sound of The ‘70s

Mu-Tron: The Groundbreaking Story of The Sound of The ‘70s | A Conversation with Mike Beigel

Reverb

"The Mu-Tron story starts with a synthesizer and includes a plane crash, a chicken-coop visitation from Stevie Wonder, and a downfall beset by a faulty gizmo called, appropriately enough, the Gizmotron. In this extended profile from our upcoming feature film, The Pedal Movie, Mike Beigel gives us his own take on the history of his famous circuitry.

Vermona DRM1 MKIII HiHat Feat Mu-Tron Bi-Phase and More

Sound Provider

"Nothing very spectacular here ,but I didn t see so much video with Drum Machine and the MuTron Biphase so I decided to shoot the recording of one relatively simple and little dirty HiHat pattern I did for a future Sound Provider Soundbank. On this pattern I use the Ibanez TK999 Tube King Distortion, then the Boss DD8 Delay in Standard mode , On the console I send the signal to the Mutron Phaser, I keep around 40% of the dry signal in the middle and send the Phasor A to the left and the B to the right, I really like the modulation the phasor add to the signal.
If I have time I will try to shoot more stuff through the Bi-Phase.

1976 MU-TRON BI-PHASE V SN 04674 with Patch Sheets

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"For your consideration is this vintage 1976 Musitronics Mu-Tron Bi-Phase electric guitar phaser effects pedal. This particular example, (serial number 04674), is in excellent all original condition and includes the original C-100 Opti-Pot control pedal (serial number 1428). With significant provenance, this unit belonged to Elektra Records (with Elektra labeled inventory numbers 1190 and 1193) and was used by numerous artists on dozens of classic records. While no exact list was documented nor compiled by studio engineers, the potential list of artists who had access to this unit reads like who's who of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, including; Bob Dylan, Queen, The Stooges, Television, The Cars, Tom Waits, X, Metallica, Jackson Browne, and The Eagles..."

MU-TRON BI-PHASE

via this auction
"Mutron Bi-Phase with pedal, circa 1977. a/c powered. Two independent phase shifters housed in a large silver box with big knobs. The worlds largest phase shifter! Settings include independent control over 2 phasors, 2 sweep generators with rate and shape (~ wave or square wave), manual or pedal option, Phasor A with depth and feedback plus gen 1 or pedal switch for sweep. Phasor B has more controls. Depth and feedback plus sweep sync option of norm or rev(erse) and sweep option of either gen1, gen2 or ped(al) and Phasor B input consisting of inA, outA or inB! Giant placards that fit over the housing include red marked settings for 3 effects examples: Stereo Phasing, Super Phasing and Two-Speed Phasing! This unit delivers the quintessential phasing sounds used in the 70's from the airplane-type whooshing sounds to the slow wide flanger-type effects. Adds fatness to clean sounds, great for ballad arpeggiating picking styles all the way to thickening an already distorted sound for added effect. Muted picking on power chords with gain to disco era octaves, this one delivers the goods. Plus, two-speed phasing yields some funkitized possibilities. Set one phasor slow and the other fast and the skies the limit. A favorite setting is the leslie cabinet sound from fast rate and moderate setting with little to no feedback. Then there's the classic setting of slower rate with much depth and feedback for reaching spatial territories! A quick way back to 1975 or ahead to 2050!"
