DROID - Universal CV Processor

video uploads by Der Mann mit der Maschine

"This video introduces my new Eurorack synthesizer module "DROID". The DROID is a universal CV processor, that can do anything in your modular synth... except audio! The DROID has 8 CV inputs and 8 CV outputs and you can use them to implement lots of different utility functions, even at the same time. You can implement sequencers, quantizers, clock dividers and multipliers, trigger delays, precision adders, ADSR like envelope generators, random generators, turing machines, slew limiters, CV mixers, CV matrix mixers and many many more things."

The eurorack module that can do everything with CV – Introduction to Droid

video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk

"Droid – the Universal CV Processor – can basically do everything when it comes to control voltages. It can create modulation signals like complex LFOs and envelopes. Perform creative utilitarian functions like mixing, logic, quantizing, and so on. And it can do complex pattern and melodic sequencing. This gives you the power to create your own complex modules, or even entire custom control surfaces for performances.

I have been using it for a couple of months now, and in this video I explain how it works, and how it can be used. At least, I made a start, because the possibilities are basically endless!"

Durham, NC (March 7, 2017): Today, Moogfest reveals its lineup of musical performers, led by Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, Gotye, Suzanne Ciani, Derrick May, 808 State, Simian Mobile Disco, Syrinx, Jessy Lanza, and Function. Building on the experimental format of previous years, Moogfest continues to integrate Future Sound (performances) and Future Thought (conference) programming, with many of these artists also leading sessions during the daytime conference program.

Moogfest’s trademark mix of intimate venues and masterful collaborations creates an unforgettable experience festival-goers will not find anywhere else. Experimental electronic and avant-garde dance music is complemented by thematic programming like Black Quantum Futurism, Protest, and Techno-Shamanism that span day-into-night. This year returns with adventurous formats such as live film scores, an overnight live music sleep concert, prelude to sleep listening parties, long-form durational performances, and presentations by leading Instrument Designers.

Moogfest has also invited artists including Gotye and Peanut Butter Wolf to help honor some of the innovative musicians we lost in 2016, including Jean-Jacques Perrey, Pauline Oliveros, Bernie Worrell and Keith Emerson. This 2017 lineup reinforces Moogfest’s commitment to bold experimentation, with some of the most important musicians and thinkers of our day helping to blur the lines between audience and artist, conversation and collaboration, technology and creativity.

The Battle of Yamaha DX7 - The 32 Original Factory Patches VS Power DX7 Patches

Published on Oct 20, 2016 Power DX7

"The Battle of Yamaha DX7 - The 32 Original Factory Patches VS Power DX7 Patches

This is a Yamaha DX7 demo brought to you by Power DX7, showcasing the breathtaking realism and unparalleled versatility of the Yamaha Synthesizer, Yamaha DX7 FM Synthesizer.

About This Yamaha DX7 Demo Video
This DX7 demo video is a comparison between the Yamaha DX7 32 original factory patches and Power DX7 patches. Those 32 factory patches are selected from the DX7 VOICE ROM1 & ROM 2 cartridges that came with the Yamaha DX7 MK1 (totaling 128 patches). Each comparison consists of playing the same arrangement with the same effects (or no effects for some patches). The first patch you hear is the original factory patch. The second patch is the Power DX7 patch. Some are a direct comparison, but the others can be remotely similar, as there is no equivalent patch found in those VOICE ROMs. The difference in sounds and volume you hear is due to the difference in programming between the original factory patches and my Power DX7 patches.
