Panharmonium | by Rossum Electro-Music

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Spectral processors are hot these days thanks to the Spectraphon and the mighty 296T. It's easy to skip the Rossum Panharmonium and I got many questions like 'how does it compare...' So I checked a few Chris Meyers Learning Modular videos and many I don't remember. What I heard was pure magic. It's been quite an investment again, especially with the Morpheus.

This is a 'first patch' video so there's not much explaining and too much exploring. I simply don't have the time for a deep dive during #jamuary2024 but it's a perfect opportunity to share the experience of learning by tweaking knobs. I started recording/shooting around noon today, and I am happy I can post it before midnight so it's a genuine Day 23. I may have to shoot something simple tomorrow. Or maybe I'll do the dreaded Strega multi sample that will break reality in two."

“Rossum Panharmonium - Internal Sounds” by Friendly Noise

video upload by Friendly Noise

"The Panharmonium is an audio processor, but also a sound source of its own. It can store up to 12 presets (the settings at a certain moment) and 12 different spectra of the sounds being analized. Combining presets and spectra, the Panharmonium can produce a great number of sounds right out of the box.

Everything you hear in the video comes from the included factory presets and spectra. There are no filters and no VCAs in the patch, so the sound is drone-ish.

Modules in the patch: Rossum Panharmonium, Intellijel Quadrax, Xaoc Tallin. Reverb comes from the Strymon Nightsky.

Video sections:

00:06 Part 01
01:25 Part 02
O2:56 Part 03
05:34 Part 04
08:34 Part 05
14:11 Part 06
19:18 Part 07"

“Rossum Panharmonium - First Contact” by Friendly Noise

video upload by Friendly Noise

"This is my first patch with the strange and amazing Rossum Panharmonium, a 'Mutating Spectral Resynthesizer', as it reads on the unit. Resynthesizers are an extremely rare kind of modules/instruments. The approach of Rossum Electro Music is easy to use and gets you immediate results.

In the clip, a full song is processed two times with different settings. The mix is 100% wet: you are always listening to the sound after processsing with Panharmonium.

Modules in the patch: Rossum Panharmonium, Qu-bit Nebulae V2, Intellijel Quadrax, Xaoc Tallin. Reverb comes from the Strymon Nightsky.

Video sections:

00:06 1st take
03:20 2nd take"

More cowbell ambient

With actual cow bells. Apparently we have a cow label. It's been a while and only two previous posts, but there you have it. This appears to be the first post with actual, real life, cows.

"In which I use the Rossum Panharmonium on a recording of cows in the Black Forest to re-synthesize an ambient track on the eurorack modular synthesizer. Some birds also play into the gentle rhythm/harmony that ensues."

ROSSUM electro-music PANHARMONIUM // UNBOXING // No Talking

LESINDES

"UNBOXING the magical ROSSUM PANHARMONIUM feeding it with a sample of QU-BIT NEBULAE. Seasoned to taste with TIPTOP ZVERB.

SORRY: Sometimes there is an audible distorsion. It is not the PANHARMIUM, it is the clipping reverb unit."

Trippy vocal mangling.

Pulsar Base-One Soma Labs Pulsar 23 with 0-CTRL Novation Summit all controlled by Novation SL MKIII

Published on May 26, 2020 -CALC-

"Second recorded jam using the mighty Pulsar 23 drum machine from Soma Laboratories.

This time it is joined by 0-CTRL with 0-Coast, SH101, Beatsqueezer through Rossum Electro Panharmonium - recorded into Chase Bliss Blooper, Yamaha Reface CP and the don of synthesisers Novation Summit.

The whole thing is clocked and sequenced by the the Novation SL MKIII easily my favourite performance sequencer of all time.

This was created in realtime as it was recorded, I'd filmed something else but carried on rolling with a little idea and this turned out."

Novation Summit - Sequenced by the Launchpad Pro feat. a wonderful Multi patch from the incredible r Beny

Rossum Electro Panharmonium - Fed some food from an aux on the mixer and Morphagene

Rossum Electro Assimil8or - Sequenced from the Launchpad Pro via a fine CV.OCD

Beatsqueezer - Sequenced by the Launchpad Pro feat. a fine sampled Una Chorda from a furry friend.

Elektron Octatrack - being controlled by the Launchpad Pro's custom modes Launchpad Pro is a super cool controller as well as sequencer.

Novation Circuit Mono Station

Rossum Panharmonium Explained by Learning Modular

Rossum Panharmonium 1/2: explained Published on Oct 26, 2019 Learning Modular

Don't miss Part 2 below.

"The Rossum Electro-Music Panharmonium Mutating Spectral Resynthesizer is a very unusual signal processing module: It studies the incoming signal, breaks it down into its most dominate frequency components, and assigns those to a bank of up to 33 oscillators to re-create (re-synthesize). You can choose which band(s) of frequencies to analyze and how often that analysis happens, and on the output side transpose it, blur it, decide what core waveform us used for the resynthesis, and perform other “mutating” functions including feedback looping.

This first movie gives an overview of how Panharmonium works. It does not dive into every individual feature (there’s a great manual that already does that); this is intended to give you an understanding of how it works, and to quickly get you up to speed using it:

00:00 examples
01:08 overview
01:53 audio ins & outs
02:27 starting configuration
03:17 the sound sources

Rossum Panharmonium 2/2: rhythmic uses

"The Rossum Electro-Music Panharmonium Mutating Spectral Resynthesizer studies an incoming signal, breaks it down into its most dominate frequency components, and assigns those to a bank of up to 33 oscillators to re-create (re-synthesize).

The first movie of this set (https://youtu.be/i_GWFs7xgoY) is a “quick start” on Panharmonium where I give an overview of how it works and how the sections interact. In this movie, I focus on my personal specialty: rhythmic applications of Panharmonium. Here is the index:

00:00 examples
01:08 overview & sound sources
01:26 slowing down the analysis
02:04 Slice Clock Output (triggering envelopes)

Rossum Electro-Music Intros Panharmonium At SynthPlex 2019

Published on Apr 12, 2019 Synthtopia

"At SynthPlex 2019, Rossum Electro-Music introduced the Panharmonium.

The Panharmonium lets you analyze the spectral content of any audio signal and use that analysis to drive a bank of from 1 to 33 oscillators.

We talked with Reek Havok, who showed us how the Panharmonium could completely mangle audio."
