SDS Digital Melisma Firmware V.1.5!

freshnelly

"Here we are 1 week later and already another update?
Some really great feature requests and ideas popped up a day after the previous release and to be honest were to cool to be hidden for long!
This somewhat laid-back video covers some of the new features in a basic way, but not reverse Spread or CC CV & LINK MIDI control of LHAND's Bass Octave. (Those weren't added yet!) so that'll be a future video."

Update:

Melisma-Firmware V.1.5 Part 2

Here's the last two additions to Version 1.5 released yesterday.
Reverse Spread:
This new "hidden" feature adds a way to play a chord in reverse order, which is done quite often while playing a keyboard, so it only makes sense to add this capability. Spread already had note order presets but not true reverse!
LHAND Bass Octave Break-out:
Now you can control the Octave when LHAND is in trigger (bass) mode. CC CV has the option + it has been added to the MIDI CC list for remote control.

SDS Digital Melisma Progressions Reset Options

Published on Feb 6, 2020 freshnelly

"The final installment of the Accord Melisma Tutorials. This one explains the usage of various ways to reset the Root and/or Chord progressions (when pulsing the CV's progressions happen)

If anyone has a suggestion for extra videos, I'll gladly make a video on the subject in question...even though I think everything covered.

Cheers!
..and thanks for watching!"

SDS Digital Melisma Progression Pause

Published on Feb 4, 2020 freshnelly

"This video, which was going to be the last of a tutorial nature for the Melisma module, covers Progressions and pauses. Pauses turn a simple progression sequence into a more complex iteration based on rules of pause symbols inserted into the progression steps.

This video was supposed to also cover progression reset methods but it would have made this video too long so that will be the next (and final) tutorial!"

SDS Digital Melisma Percussa LHAND Mode

Published on Feb 3, 2020 freshnelly

"This is the long-awaited Percussa tutorial video! I'm certain that there's been some head scratching out there so hopefully this clears things up some. It's really quite simple and if not, then it's a lot of fun to use!
Just gotta know some of the basics ;)"

SDS Digital Melisma - Spread Knob & CV

Published on Jan 30, 2020 freshnelly

"This tutorial covers the in's and outs of the Spread function, use, and it's modifiers. (Note order/Swing/Randomize)
Enabling or disabling the Spread Quantization is quickly done from The Spread Quick-Box button. Spread can quantize to the GATE, ACLK, Progressions, and LHAND timing, in any combination, making the rhythmic possibilities pretty much endless."

SDS Digital Melisma CC CV Internal Functions

Published on Jan 29, 2020 freshnelly

"This video/tutorial demonstrates all of the internal functions the CC CV input can be assigned to control (rather than MIDI functions).

These greatly expand possibilities of methods of sequencing chords and changing dynamics of chords, arps, and LHAND"

SDS Digital Sequarallel Module Test Composition & Patch!

Published on Sep 10, 2019 freshnelly

"Well today I made an effort to create a decent patch to use with the Sequarallel. I wanted to include the Melisma, and I did, but it's a "dumb" connection and follows gates and bass notes to send chords to a Korg synth.
The RIT_M's are doing nothing more than acting as clock multipliers really in this.

There's a couple of SDS_VCO's and percussion modules etc but got the PWM modulation for the VCO's by recording an LFO into the Reflex LiveLoop and then playing it back at rates controlled by the same LFO but much slower. Ahhh what can be done hey?

So yeh, this is a collage of sound based around a simple trance-like composition I did in FL Studio this morning and recorded in this afternoon. It uses 3 MIDI channels and 1 Percussion channel.
Now it's trapped within the Sequarallel forever mwa ha ha ha!

It's really amazing to have this in the demo rack. I'm going to put one of the production units in my big case but the demo rack has become a legacy collection of sorts and I do so enjoy it. (Plus there's no holes like in the big one bluk!)"
