"Ok. You ready for a weird one? This is definitely a quirky little bird of a keyboard.

A lot of things here will be familiar, though: two analog oscillators with very wide frequency ranges that can go from 64ft to 4ft -- and also each be used as LFOs -- with the classic compliment of analog triangle, saw, and square/pulse waves. Two snappy envelopes. A very flexible dedicated LFO with waveshaping. Sample and hold. White and pink noise. Ring mod... I assume you're following along, so far so good.

But then... VCO 1 can FM VCO 2? And then VCO 2 can ring mod VCO 1 at the same time? And then this filter is... a ladder filter? Like a Moog -- but compensated, so it doesn't lose low end when the resonance is turned high and screaming. And then... there is... a filter bank with its own dedicated mixer section. Yes, it works and it is a very bizarre addition that I have pretty much never seen on another monosynth.

Anyway, like I said this is just a very quirky and interesting little thing. I've had a great time squeezing weird late 70s sci-fi vibes out of it, but perhaps it's time for it's next home."

"In this video, we barely scratched the surface of what this instrument can do and the depth of its operating modes/feature set. We'd like to do a deeper dive into this synth to demonstrate patch creation and other functionality on a deeper level in the future, if there is interest. Fun fact: Kawai applied both their own name and the Teisco brand name when manufacturing the SX210 and SX-240, depending on the market in which it was to be sold."

"Duophonic synth similar to an Arp Odyssey for its modulation capabilities. Add a naugthy 24db ladder filter and a fixed resonance filter bank and you got a very powerful synth with its own character...

The synth has been serviced last April and works swiftly. The portamento slider has been replaced by a red one, there is some scratches on the wood panels."

As the former has several videos about it on YouTube, I decided to focus on the latter, which doesn't.

We also look at a curious link to ARP Instruments which has (understandably) caused much confusion.

"Battery Operated Orchestra (BOO) have a nice collection of instruments, we had a glimpse when we shot an interview with them for the launch of their album 'Yesterday, Tomorrow and You'

Chris from the band kindly recorded this session to give us all a flavour of what it can sound like - which as it happens is pretty tasty.

The Teisco 110F is a two oscillator instrument with lovely Low Pass resonant filter that keeps the low end with high resonance, a fixed filter bank and an interesting architecture.

Its capable of some pretty tasty sounds, we think you'll agree."

"Great example of this rare and desirable Teisco 110f duophonic analogue synth.

Its in outstanding working condition having been fully tested throughout. All siwtches, pots and knobs function as they should. Pots are crackle free. Keys all contact correctly.

Cosmetically it is very tidy, with hardly a blemish on the front, rear and side panels. Its as clean as it looks in the photographs.

Its a 100v model, so a step down trnasformer may be required depending on your location."

Maintenance finished.
The volume slider, cutoff, filter bank rated pot, ENV, have been confirmed.
Almost all sliders have contact cleaning, contact grease up, and optical grease up slide operation section.

Output sound is normal, but there are some places where noise remains."

Anyone ID what that is at 3:16? One pitch wheel and a few knobs on the right. Shape reminds me of an SH-101, Teisco 110f, original Novation BassStation, or Access Virus. It's clearly not any of them. MIDI controller? That's the only synth content in this one, but cool idea and cool video. Giving this one the Mystery Synths label.

"We are in a Mediterranean city—at some point people want to chat." Guille De Juan, owner of Barcelona venue Curtis, knows it's impossible to replicate a Japanese-style, no-talking-allowed listening bar in his home city. Instead, he's built a space inspired by Japan's audiophile venues but adapted to Barcelona's buzzy atmosphere.
Curtis, which opened in 2018, also takes inspiration from a source closer to home: Nica, a Barcelona audiophile venue with an impressive programme of DJs and live acts.

Barcelona isn't the only city where listening bar culture is taking root. You will find them in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Istanbul and London. (The previous film in this series told the story of London's influential Brilliant Corners.) "Up for sale is a vintage Teisco 110F synthesizer. It’s just been completely serviced and working fine. The service report and original manual are included in the sale.

The synth has fat sounding oscillators, a ring modulator, several interesting modulation possibilities, a filterbank, a lpf and hpf, cv/gate and so on. It’s an underrated synth. It sounds really good!"
