NOH-modular Eurorack Modules

The Pianist - a Versatile Eurorack Chord Sequencer video upload by NOH-modular

The Pianist - Getting Started Guide video upload by NOH-modular

"This video is a Getting Started Guide for the Pianist module, with voice-over this time! It aims to inform you on how to operate the Pianist and how it can be implemented in a modular synthesizer for musical chord progressions."

"The Pianist is a eurorack polyphonic chord sequencer. It facilitates harmonic progressions within modular synthesis and has great tools for live performances and composition."

Available at Signalsounds here.

Lavender - a Versatile Eurorack Stereo Mixer video upload by NOH-modular

"This video is a demo for the Lavender module. It aims to inform you on how to operate Lavender and how it can be implemented in a modular synthesizer."

"Lavender is a stereo mixer with versatile inputs and outputs. There are four inputs with independent left / right channels, the left one normalizing to the right for mono compatibility. The fifth input can work as a stereo input or a mono input depending on the switch. Finally, the module has a stereo voltage indicator with tunable gain."

Olive - a Performative Eurorack Gate Module video upload by NOH-modular

"This video gives an in-depth review of the module and how it functions, in addition to having a small demo creating a patch with the module. It aims to inform you on how to operate Olive and how it can be implemented in a modular synthesizer."

"Olive is a eurorack utility module based on input/output gates. It facilitates performances with centralised gates, mutes, or triggers within modular synthesis. Olive's strength is its normalized inputs, creating gates at the outputs when nothing is plugged in. It is also very compact and holds all of the functionalities in only 4HP!

Hence Olive can act as a:
• 4-channel mute (audio and CV)
• momentary press gates (PRESS ON - RELEASE OFF)
• latching gates (PRESS ON - PRESS OFF)"

Thyme - an Efficient Eurorack Utility Module video upload by NOH-modular

"This video gives an in-depth review of the module and how it functions, in addition to having a small demo creating a patch with the module. It aims to inform you on how to operate Thyme and how it can be implemented in a modular synthesizer."

"Thyme is a eurorack utility module based on attenuverters. It facilitates mixing, offseting, inverting, or attenuating within modular synthesis. Thyme's strength is its normalized inputs and outputs, creating offsets or mixing the outputs together when nothing is plugged in. It is also very compact and holds all of the functionalities in only 4HP!
Hence Thyme can act as a:
• 4-channel mixer (audio and CV)
• offset generator
• inverter
• attenuator"

An Ocean in Thyme // No Input Ambient Music // Mooer Ocean Machine + Bastl Thyme #TTNM

Published on Mar 18, 2020 THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES

"It's been a while since I last made some no input music with the Mooer Ocean Machine and Bastl Thyme ...

♥ SUPPORT: http://bit.ly/ttnm-support

The Ocean Machine is a straightforward looper, dual delay and reverb guitar effect pedal. Its left channel output is connected the Bastl Instruments Thyme robot-controlled digital tape delay. The Thyme's right channel output goes back into the Ocean Machine's right channel input. The Thyme's left channel output goes into the audio recorder.

This creates a feedback loop between the two devices, resulting in audible self-oscillation, which can be looped and shaped via the effects, similar to a normal synthesizer waveform. Only that we don't need a synth at all.

The video was recorded in one take, without any other sound sources or effects, apart from the Ocean Machine and Thyme.

It's fun! try it at home!

Here's a tutorial for the Ocean Machine alone: [posted below]

... and a no input mixing tutorial: [posted here]"

HORROR DRONE!!! Mooer Ocean Machine No Input Noise Music! #TTNM

Published on Apr 17, 2019 THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES

"At Thomann's Synth Reactor 2019 I finally got the chance to play with an Ocean Machine, after having it on my wish list for a long time (video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gylcx...). After that, Mooer Audio were kind enough to send me a pedal home to dig deeper into it. I don't have a guitar though, so I needed to come up with another way to use this thing and I think I actually found one that is way more fun :D

At your own risk, plug one Ocean Machine audio output into your speaker/mixer/recorder. Plug the other audio output into one of the Ocean Machine's audio inputs. Plug in power and hold on to your hat!

... well, start with all three mixer knobs at zero, obviously. Then slowly add feedback by adding delays and reverb. Short delay times add high pitched sounds, while long delay times add lower pitched sounds. Play with different delay and reverb types and don't forget to let the looper's continuous audio overdub running. Also, use the reverse and half-speed playback features!"

Work in Progress: Spielwerk Sequencer for Norns/Crow

Published on Feb 5, 2020 S. B. Arweiler S. B. Arweiler

"A work in progress: Spielwerk is a generative sequencer for Monome Norns/Crow with (optional) support for Arc. It generates two CVs from two Euclidean rhythms and four independent clocks.

In this video the two CVs (left and right knob of Arc) control two Mannequins Mangrove, one of the Euclidean rhythms triggers Just Friends envelopes that control various parameters on the Mangroves and Three Sisters. Everything is processed with Bastl Thyme and EHX Cathedral.

There's still a lot to on my todo list, so it might be a while until release.

Development happens here: https://github.com/sarweiler/spielwerk"

Monome Norns Zellen with Crow support

Published on Nov 3, 2019 S. B. Arweiler

"I've added Crow support to Zellen, my sequencer for Monome Norns, so now Zellen can talk to eurorack via Monome Crow.

The first part of the patch is the alternative CV sequencing Mangrove, that is processed through Cold Mac and then looped (via "Freeze") in Bastl Thyme. The second part is the CV out and trigger pinging Three Sisters. Everything goes through Bastl Thyme for delay.

Crow configuration for Zellen:
Input 1: Clock
Input 2: CV offset
Output 1: CV
Output 2: Trigger
Output 3: Alternative CV
Output 4: Clock

Get the newest update for Zellen on Github: https://github.com/sarweiler/zellen/r..."

Crow: First (Monome Crow + Mannequins)

Published on Oct 20, 2019 S. B. Arweiler

"First flight with Monome Crow. This is Crow's 'first' sequencer, sequencing Mannequins Mangrove and a self oscillating Three Sisters. Just Friends is only used as a clock source in this patch. Everything goes through Bastl Thyme. EHX Catehdral adds reverb in the mixer's."

via monome

"crow speaks and listens and remembers bits of text. A scriptable USB-CV-ii machine.

crow connects to norns and computers running Max, Max for Live, and other serial-enabled applications. We’ve created various norns scripts and Max for Live devices which require no programming, and we’ve also created tutorials and studies to get you started quickly programming your own ideas into this tiny, powerful module.

crow also stores a complete script, so that without a USB connection it can continue to run, responding to CV input and ii messages.

A collaboration by Whimsical Raps and monome.

Specifications

Eurorack, 2hp width, 41mm depth
Power consumption: 60mA @ +12v, -15mA @ -12V, no 5V

STØV

Published on Sep 29, 2019 mishpult

"Støv is the norwegian word for "dust". This is a dusty hip-hop pattern with the #elektron #digitakt, #bastl #thyme and #heat. There is a saw lfo from the Thyme which is assigned to the short delay parameter, resulting in a subtle glitchy background for the beat. The output is run through the Analog Heat with generous drive, low and high boost, some pseudo compressor settings and high-pass filter with resonance for a low-end enhancement."

SPACE DRONES // Mooer Ocean Machine + Bastl Thyme + SynthScaper + Noisemusick #TTNM

Published on Apr 27, 2019

"Listen to those deep, space-drone looper soundscapes while letting your mind wander.

♥ SUPPORT: http://bit.ly/ttnm-support

GEAR USED:
Mooer Ocean Machine
Bastl Instruments Thyme
Zoom R16
SynthScaper iOS app
Noisemusick iOS app

LEFT SIDE:
Mooer Ocean Machine ambient guitar pedal connected to the Bastl Instruments Thyme digital tape machine in a feedback loop. So one Ocean Machine's output goes back into its own input and the other output goes into the Thyme's input.

One of the Thyme's outputs goes back into the Ocean Machine second input and the other Thyme output finally goes into the Zoom R16 audio recorder.

Then I play with both units' audio looper and delay and reverb effects to layer a wild ambient space drone sound.

RIGHT SIDE:
Apple iPhone running the SynthScaper and Noisemusick iOS synth apps, connected to the Mooer Ocean Machine. Here I simply play sounds through the looper, delays and reverb of the guitar pedal.
