"An experiment in video cut - up.
I'm into trying to make video illustrations of the tracks I've made I love the most.
This one, appearing on my first release, is very special for me as I completed it few days after a tragic event.
It's also the first time i'm trying to illustrate the audio I produce, with Adobe Premiere.
The movies used here are all found on archive.org.
Their author is Segundo De Chomn. There are extracts from "Les Oeufs de Paques" et "L'Iris Fantastique".
The audio was entirely done in VCV Rack Beta 0.5 if I rememmber correctly.

Sequenced by VCV Rack of course (using "virtual"cv/midi, sent to Mutant Brain for converting back to "true" CV) , you can hear some anti-oscillator, mangrove, RS serge VCFQ, doepfer SEM filter...

I also play with the VCV Console and 3 instances of Chronoblob , using a nanokontrol."

"On these tracks I wanted to focus on :

-melodies alternating from minor to major

-odd rythmic patterns but with a sense of repetition, vinyl drum samples.


As always the songs are sequenced using a quite complex arrangement of simple sequencers and switches, each track has some "generative" parts.

Since my last e.p I've learned to code a bit and developed my own VCV Rack modules under the name LifeFormModular, they are the main sequencers, switches, lfo's and oscillators at use here.
I also used Bidoo Sample Player and Vult filters.

"LifeFormModular Update 1.1

New :

-Driftgen : CV Utility
Will make your signal subtly drift. Useful to detune oscillators for example.
Made by using a sample and hold against noise, slewing the result and adding it to the original signal by small amount.
You can vary the rate of the sample and hold, which will inversely act on the slew time. You can also vary the amount of "shaking"signal to be added to the source via the depth knob.
works only when input is connected!

-ComplexOsc :
Made with two sine oscillators with phase distorsion (in two dimensions, x and y mod.).
You can FM the carrier by the modulator. You can mix the two oscs.
At the end of the chain there's a clipper that will turn the signal into a square.
You can send independant CVs for carrier and modulator
There are outputs for the indivual oscs, try self patching for wild sounds.
