Tubbutec Midi USB Bridge A - USB Host and TRS midi router eurorack

Tubbutec

Dual USB host and TRS midi router and merger
https://tubbutec.de/usb-bridge-a/

0:00 Introduction
1:12 Tubbutrance
Here we connect a simple USB keyboard (AKAI LPK25) directly to a Novation Peak)

1:42 OP-1 minimal
USB bridge A is used to sync an OP-1 to a beatstep pro. You can sync both ways: The OP-1 can send or receive the clock. The basdrum is sequenced from the beatstep and created with a eurorack filter and envelope.

2:18 Euroillbient
A Korg Nanokontrol is connected to an LPZW Tram8 midi interface. This way the NanoKontrol can control 8xCV and 8xGate. Tubbutec µTune is also connected via USB and used as a midi monitor.

2:53 SQ-Acid
An Korg SQ-1, Arturia Beatstep pro and Roland TR-505 are synced via both USB hosts and TRS midi of USB bridge A. At first, The beatstep is the master, later the SQ-1 takes over that role. Note how the they all stay in sync. This is so far the only way to send clock and reset to the SQ-1 without needing an extra computer.
The SQ-1 plays an acid line on the eurorack system while the Beastep sequences a eurorack basedrum. The TR-505 plays internal rhythms.

4:07 Eurolaunch
A Novation Launchpad is connected to our eurorack system via USB bridge A and µTune as midi interface.
The connection goes both ways: A CV/Gate sequencer controls both a melody and the lights on the Launchpad, the bassline is played on the launchpad and uses a eurorack VCO, envelope and filter.

Dutch Modular Fest 2018

Published on Oct 5, 2018 Gearslutz

Playlist:

1. Befaco Percall Eurorack Module @ Dutch Modular Fest 2018
Manu Retamero from BEFACO was kind enough to show us their brandnew Percall module during the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague. Percall is a four channel envelope shaper, with a few neat tricks such as a triggered accent and "choke" settings that work like an open hi-hat cut by a closed hi-hat on various drum machines. Users can make their own percussive sounds with this module, using various soundsources.
2. Tubbutec Expander & Sumtiple @ DMF 2018
Tobi from the one-man company Tubbutec, showed some new features of the µTune Expander, another demo of the correcting tuning function on the µTune, and their Sumtiple module.
3. Joranalogue Contour 1 Transmit 2 Eurorack @ DMF 2018
Joran showed us the new Contour 1 and Transmit 2 modules, at the Dutch Modular Fest in The Hague, Netherlands.
4. Dovemans Ants - 0 sugar - SHFT - Temple eurorack @ DMF 2018
Johan Cornelissen from "Dovemans"; a new eurorack module manufacturer, is a just about to release his first 4 modules. All four have an experimental twist, and a few unusual functions. Gearslutz recorded this at the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague.
5. TINRS RectangularThing Ardabil prototype Eurorack @ DMF 2018
Stijn from TINRS (This IS Not Rocket Science) took a new synth voice for eurorack, a complete semi-modular in one, and a prototype of a module that "ties the room together".
Also we asked how the Synton project was coming along, so you can hear that too in this video.
6. Moseley Instruments Cosmopolitan @ DMF 2018
We were positively surprized by the sound of the Cosmopolitan Oscillator from Moseley Instruments.
7. Soulsby synthesizers @ Dutch Modular Fest 2018
Paul from the synthsizer company Soulsby showed us the new development in the ATMultitron and the ATMegatron mkII synthesizers at the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague.
8. VPME Euclidian Circles V2, QD quad drum voice Eurorack modules @ DMF 2018
Vladimir showed us the second version of the Euclidian Circles, the QD quad drum voice, ZeroScope, T43 precision adder with switches at the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague.
9. ZLOB Modular Entropy Eurorack Module @ DMF 2018
Kevin from ZLOB Modular showed us the new Entropy eurorack module at the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague. Entropy is a Sample & Hold, Track & Hold and noise source.
10. Birdkids Raven @ DMF 2018
Michael of Birdkids proudly presented the prototype of the upcoming Kickstarter funded high-end Raven semi-modular at the Dutch Modular Fest 2018 in The Hague.
We certainly have no complaints about the sound! What a beauty!
