"Vintage 1980s OBERHEIM DMX Digital Drum Machine Beatbox. This one does NOT have MIDI. It's in overall good working order with the following issues:
1. The volume slider currently causes a hum around the middle of its range. The hum disappears when you set it to maximum. Not much of a problem, really, as you'll want to keep this thing cranked up anyway!

2. Something's screwy with the tempo display. In this mode only, some of the LED digits don't light up unless you press gently onto the faceplate right next to the volume slider. The tempo setting function itself works fine- it's just that you have to press the faceplate a bit to see the tempo fully/correctly displayed. I've taken pics of the tempo both correctly and incorrectly displayed.

3. The "Ride2" button currently plays the "Crash" sound instead. I'm not sure what the issue is. The "Ride1" button plays the correct "Ride1" sound.

4. As this unit has not been serviced recently, it has all the usual minor issues: somewhat flaky/double triggering buttons, somewhat flaky slider pots. These issues don't seriously impact performance, and would be fixed as part of any basic servicing.

5. Minor scuffs/scrapes here and there (study pics for further details)."

This is a demo of some of the Best Korg Prophecy
Special EFX & Drone sounds, deep, modulating, panning
stereo digital sounds made for a 3-D environment.
Way cool as a stand alone synthesizer, the Korg Prophecy
blew the walls down in hundreds of studios across the world
with it's powerful sound engine & complex structures.
Korg made it even easier to customize the Prophecy engine when
they designed the SOLO-TRI expansion for the Trinity series
workstations. It is better on the bigger touch screen to edit.
Super cool digital virtual analog / MOSS sound engine, the
only thing was the controls were different on the Prophecy
(ribbon log, mod wheels, ARP) than the Trinity. The Prophecy
was more expressive & FUN on stage & off!
But with it inside the Trinity workstation, you could add it directly
into sequences & have a full size synth to play on (61-88 keys)

Today you can find the SOLO-TRI expansion board for cheap on
Ebay, but without the "holding bracket" that easily holds the expansion in place. Worth the effort to get, because if you are
a fan of the Prophecy, it just is the right thing to do with your
old 'stock' Korg Trinity. Or just buy a used TRINITY PLUS & spare yourself the installation time & sweat. If you have been wanting
one of these, GET IT. I won't let you down!!
