Novation Drum Station iPad editor

Published on Sep 21, 2015 tffshtt

"Free download, no login or registration required: http://midi.theunfed.com/
To use this editor you have to have the TB MIDI stuff app on your iPad. It is available in the app store for under $5. All 808 and 909 parameters are accessible. Sorry about the mid-video template editing, but this was a final check to see if all parameters were working and at least you get to see how easy it is to change the MIDI messages being sent from TBMS."

The Spectral Method in Clouds' Spectral Madness

Published on Sep 21, 2015 wellurban

"A detailed exploration of the barely-documented 'Spectral Madness' bonus mode on Clouds. I've read through the source code on github (https://github.com/pichenettes/eurora...), and while I'm not a C programmer, I gleaned enough information to get a more structured sense of what this surprisingly powerful mode can do: it's far more than the afterthought that Mutable Instruments suggest. It's a quirky phase vocoder, capable of subtle and useful treatments as well as spectral weirdness.

The two samples come from the suggested audio set for Music Thing Modular's Radio Music module: the drum loop is played directly from there, while the voice was resampled and lopped in Tyme Sefari II. The bassline is a Dixie II through a Pittsburgh Filter. There is no external processing, and the rest of Clouds' internal effects (stereo spread, feedback and reverb) were also turned off to focus on the spectral processing."

Seaboard RISE and Haken Continuum

Published on Sep 21, 2015 Christophe Duquesne

"This is a small video combining the brand new SEABOARD RISE, from ROLI, and the Haken Continuum, each running its own sound engine (EQUATOR on a Mac for RISE, and Eagan Matrix internal sound engine for the Continuum).
No competition here, but a nice collaboration between these two expressive synths.
The sound design is from me on both engines."
