Twisted Electrons Brings the Ay3 to Eurorack

Ay3 Eurorack Module Overview Published on Feb 26, 2016 Twisted Electrons

via Twisted Electrons where you'll find addition details and audio demos.

"The AY-3-8912 is a programmable sound generator (PSG) designed by General Instrument at the end of the 1970s.
The AY3 gave voice to the Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Intellivision, AppleII Mockingbird sound card, MSX, Vectrex, ZX Spectrum 128K. Many early 1980s Arcade Games used two AYs; the Gyruss arcade board had five!

The AY3 eurorack module is the perfect solution to capture this piece of history in your rack with its slick & sturdy all-metal design and intuitive controls. The module can be set to 3 clocking modes: normal, Helium (overclocked) and Deep (underclocked), pushing the range of frequencies and sounds to the extreme.

Shakmat Modular Knight's Gallop PreProduction Unit Demo

Published on Feb 26, 2016 Shakmat Modular

"The Knight's Gallop is a dual output trigger sequences generator with a lot of features and designed for polyrythms. The sequences are based on tables created according to algorithms such as the Euclidean one.

Output 1 is reading directly the tables and is generating a sequence according to the length and pulse values, exactly like in a classic euclidean sequencer. There're five kinds of tables with different rythmic flavours.

Output 2 is generating a different sequence based on the tables but also on the mode and the sub mode (5 modes and up to 4 sub modes per mode).

Five different feelings of grooves combined to the many ways of processing it gives you a ridiculously high number of polyrythm combinations, way more than the number of patterns available in a classic 16 steps Euclidean generator.

So here's a list of features :
• Variable length sequences (up to 16 steps)
• Length and Pulse amount potentiometers and CV inputs
• Shift + & Shift - buttons allowing to shift the sequence forward and backward
• Main mode (MN) providing a lot of utlity modes for the second output : reset, no shift, invert and reverse
• Compute mode (CP) calculating associated sequences for the second output delivering very musical polyrythms
• Random mode (RD) adding randomness on the second output, 4 amounts of randomness determined by the sub mode
• Dual mode (DL) allowing to set the two outputs seperatly
• Record mode (RC) turning the Knight's Gallop into a “play your sequence on the buttons and record it” module, in this mode the pulse knob acts as a a mute - fully ccw - and a roll - fully cw.
• Five different kind of tables for five different rythmic feelings (01, 02, 03, 04, 05) : Divider Sequence, Classic Euclidean, Revised Euclidean, Erdos Deep and Divided Sequences.
• User replaceable firmware chip
• Hi-quality Elektron like push buttons
• High quality metal potentiometer with DJTT double rubbered injected knobs
• Skiff friendly (22mm deep)
• 8 HP Wide"

Corsynth C104 - Ring modulator patch tricks

Published on Feb 26, 2016 Corsynth

"The C104 Odyssey of Sound VCO has a digital Ring Modulator. The square wave is internally connected to one of the Ring Modulator inputs. The RM out is a copy of the square wave if nothing is connected to the RM input. If we patch other waveforms from the same VCO to the RM input we can get interesting results."
